Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Very nice room in a great neighborhood. It is located close to The Plaza, Westport, Brookside, Nelson Art Gallery, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, KC Art Institute, Waldo, UMKC, Rockhurst University, Sprint Center and Power and Light District.
Full kitchen privileges if you'd like to cook. I furnish most of the necessities such as pots and pans, appliances, flour and spices. The rest is up to you. After you finish cooking feel free to use the dining room.

The space
My 100 yr old home is in a great neighborhood convenient to many restaurants, bars, museums and shopping destinations. I've lived here for 24 years and love it.

Guest access
You're welcome to use the kitchen and dining room as well as the washer and dryer in the basement. I furnish detergent and dryer sheets if you so desire.

Other things to note
I do have one very friendly dog. Max loves people, kids and other dogs. If you are allergic to or not comfortable around dogs, this is probably not your ideal choice.

The bed is actually a full-sized bed, not a queen. Airbnb does not have a check box for full so I had to check queen so you at least know you are getting a bed. :)

The bathroom is located downstairs and is shared. I have 2 bedrooms downstairs, one of which is mine and the other is rented to a long term renter. He is a middle-aged gentleman who is a researcher/professor at UMKC. He is very quiet and spends very little time at the house.

This is an older house so the stairway leading up to your room is steeper and narrower than more modern houses.

Prior to moving into my house I'd never lived in one house longer than 5 years. I've lived in this neighborhood for 24 years and love it. It's clean, quiet and safe. My neighbors run the gamut: married and single; straight and gay; older and younger; male and female; white, black, Hispanic and Asian; students, doctors, retirees; all great neighbors.

I've traveled around the world using Airbnb and think it's the only way to go. I've resided in Kansas City for over 30 years and have lived in my current home for over 22 years. I love my city and home but every once in a while I get the travel bug. I'm fortunate to have friends around the world but if not staying with them Airbnb is a great option. I'm retired so I have the time to travel. Most of my travels have been on a motorcycle - Mexico, Central America, SE Asia and Europe.
