Mark is an overwhelmingly accommodating host, who took great care of my friend and I, offering suggestions, partaking in conversation and offering to help wherever he could. The blue room is a former sound-proof recording studio and has very comfortable beds. The location speaks for itself and I am yet to find another apartment with such an impressive kitchen. I highly recommend Mark's place to all who are looking for an authentic experience of New York!! Many intangible qualities you cannot find elsewhere!
Excellent experience. We'll definitly come back for a next time in NYC. Mark is a fantastic host and the location is amazing..
Mark's place is just perfect:
- a great host who's lived there ever since
- an amazing atmosphere in the apartment
- the cleanest bath- and restroom!
- great private rooms right in the loft
- a location in TriBeCa that most tourists only dream of
- if we will come back, we'll make sure it's gonna be the Piano Loft
My friend and i stayed in Mark's place for ten days. The neighbourhood is extremely well located, near all the atractions in Manhattan. The apartment was very nice and the room very comfortable. Mark was so nice and kind answering all the typical tourist questions. His coffee is the best! also his cats. Definitely we recomend Mark's place!
We had the most comfortable and enjoybale stay at Marks place. Mark is the perfect host - laid back and very helpful. I forgot my glasses and he mailed them to me without hesitation. The place has great atmosphere and the location is perfect. There will most certainly be a next time.
A really exceptional place to experience something different. Mark is a great host, present but not invasive. The room is spacious and clean. The location is perfect especially when you arrive from JFK (line A accessible dowstairs). If 4 level stairs is not an issue for you ( no lift evenings and WEs ), this place is for you. Thanks again Mark!
I've just spent a few days at Mark's loft in the Blue Room and must say that it is a great New York experience, which you won't experience at any hotel. Mark is a nice and helpful guy. If you don't mind the stairs at evening and weekends it is a perfect place. The space has a great atmosphere and the roof is fantastic.
We spent two weeks in the Mark's apartment following a week long stay in Williamsburg and we can assure that enter this house was for us the best "Welcome to Manhattan" that we could waiting for!
Great atmosphere here, both inside and on the amazing rooftop surrounded by the skyscrapers of the City, a luxury really unexpected!
Imagine an old creaking wooden building occupied by artists, where it's like living in a movie: the stairs pirate ship's style, the elevator with a lift-guy who takes you directly to the apartment, the works of art lining the walls, the many musical instruments that are not only décor, but are there to be played. What a gift!
Everything is real here and Mark is a gentle and discreet host who knows how to make you feel comfortable immediately and also a very pleasant person to chat with. We spent a great time there and we wouldn’t know how to thank him enough for contributing to make our stay so unforgettable. We just expect him to give back in Tuscany!
I have just spent a week in the blue room and I really enjoyed the accomodation. The loft is really big, well furnished and perfectly cleaned and Mark was a nice and sympatic host , always had an ear for my questions and a good idea how to get along in NYC. The bedroom was really quite and confortable. The metro is right at the corner and you are really close to Soho and Financial District. I will stay again from Mark in my next visit to NY!
This is a lovely place to stay. It is centrally located in downtown. Subway just around the corner so easy and cheap access to anywhere you might want to go. And the place itself is quite astonishing. Not only is it cozy and inspiring by musical instruments and great pieces of art on the walls, but the room itself is quiet - in the middle of New York, surrounded by ambulances, police and firetrucks going off every other minute, it is actually very nice to be able to shut the door and just have peace and quietness. And the hosts (meaning Mark and his two cats) are open and welcoming and helpful with any needs you might have. Would easily choose this place again...
