Upper Moutere, Tasman, New Zealand

The beautiful Moutere Valley is a thriving rural area and is home to the Moutere Artisans with their boutique wine, craft beer, olive oil, cider, cheese, arts and crafts. It is also home of the wonderful Sarau festival, which celebrates and showcases the area.

We are ideally placed for exploring the Top of the South Island, with access to the much acclaimed 'Great Taste Trail' bike route only minutes away. We have 3 National Parks on our doorstep, Abel Tasman, Kahurangi and the Nelson Lakes and Rainbow Ski field. The vibrant cosmoploian city of Nelson is only 30 minutes away by car and within 60 minutes you can be exploring Golden Bay.

The thriving centres of Mapua, Upper Moutere and Motueka are within 5 to 10 minutes drive, boasting cafes and restaurants, wine bars, micro breweries, boutique shops and numerous arts and crafts.

Our closest beach is at Kina, this stunning quiet and expansive beach is only minutes away by car, just beyond the lovely little village of Tasman, where you can grap a great coffee or better still a real fruit ice cream to enjoy whilst strollong along the often deserted Kina beach. Furthermore only 25 minutes drive brings you to the stunning golden beaches at Kaiteriteri and Marahau, gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park.

I emigrated to New Zealand with my husband Sim and now 3 adult children in 2007. Sim went from an RAF Officer to Sales and Marketing Manager at a wholesale nursery, and loves it. A nurse by profession, I continue to practise part time and manage our little piece of paradise and self catering business -Oaks Cottage. I love socialising with family and friends; tramping; relaxing in the hammock with a good book; listening to music especially live and developing my ever growing and changing garden. Of course my other passion is travel. There's nothing better than planning the next adventure, experiencing new destinations and rediscovering old haunts too. I don't have a motto as such, but do quite like to go with the flow, think variety is the spice of life and try not to worry about things I can't change.
