Janelle was out of town but we met Kevin. Everything was very nice - late check in was no problem. The studio gets a lot of light from outside - this creates a lovely atmosphere. The bathroom is very close and therefore no problem at all that it is separate. We liked the privacy we had but could get in touch with Kevin if needed. For all the US air conditioning fans out there: be aware that there is no a/c. We had no issue with that but some might have. Kevin prepared a fan so we were more than happy with the overall stay. Definitely would come back!
Very clear description of how to get to house and into studio at the back of the house. All very clean and comfortable. Would recommend for anyone staying in the area.
This was my first time using AirBnB and Janelle made the experience seamless. She messaged me a couple of days in advance with what to expect and when we arrived everything was as she said it would be. The studio was really cute and private (perfect for the quick getaway weekend I had planned for the bf and I) and stocked with little goodies (water, movies, towels, etc.). Unfortunately, it was a rainy weekend when we visited but Janelle made sure to touch base and left us some extra towels which we really appreciated. Otherwise, we were left to ourselves, which we also appreciated. As the description says, the bathroom is detached, but it is super close and really wasn't too much of a hassle. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back, highly recommended!
This is a great little find. The studio is very large with an awesome bed, couch and access to a serene and nicely manicured backyard. It is also a 5 minute drive (15 minute bike ride) to a beautiful beach. We were only able to stay one night and we booked the room so we could attend a business meeting in Ventura. We never got to meet Janelle but she was very communicative and friendly in all our correspondence. If you are looking for a quiet, private hideaway near a really nice beach and super close to Santa Barbara, this is the place.
The description of the guest house was spot on! It was relaxing and a lovely home. The hosts were friendly and hospitable. They were there when we needed anything and even recommended some areas to go to in Carpenteria. It definitely made the experience that much more enjoyable!
My mom and I stayed here overnight. Janelle was very accommodating. We especially appreciated her flexibility with check in time.
This was my first time staying at an Air BnB - and it was a great experience. The studio was just as listed, very comfortable and neat and clean. Great location and very quiet. The hosts were very gracious and made sure that we had everything that we needed. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a private and less expensive place to stay in the Santa Barbara area. I hope to stay here again on my next trip to the area.
About the Host, Janelle
I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, and feel so lucky to call it home. My husband and I have traveled to many places and know SB is the most beautiful place in the world. We enjoy traveling to smaller cities, finding great hostels or 5 star hotels depending on our mood, eating, relaxing and wandering around.
My husband and I love to travel, cook, eat and play! We are always up for adventure and want to be able to say yes to any adventure that comes up!
