About This Listing
I rent a big room in my 150 square meters and neo-modernist style appartment, in the antic center of Barcelona. It is located in the same street than the famous Palau de la Musica, very near Las Ramblas.
The room has a doble bed, a table, and an access to the balcony where you will see the backyard.
. I provide wifi internet connexion, sheets and towels.
The flat is very well located because you can visit the best sites of Barcelona just walking, and if you are a little lazy, the nearest metro station (Urquinaona) will drive you anywhere you want.
I have a beaux-arts degree, especialized in old part of town paintings. 2 very peaceful and sympathic cats give me company.
You will enjoy the tranquility of the place!
If you have any doubt, please contact me.
The most important is that everybody respect the intimity and tranquility of the others.
Besides, we are all responsible to keep the space clean. I'm in charge to clean up the flat before you come, and I will apreciate you keep it in good condition.
The first struggle of staying at Sol’s apartment was a complete and utter lack of communication. I think my finger actually got a workout from the constant check of my email before we flew to Barcelona. She hadn’t answered my email asking not to simply clarify check in information, but actually give some sort information because all we had was an address. No directions of how to get to said address, no directions of what to do when we got to said address, just and address from AirBnb. So we arrived in a foreign city and trudged our bags through the streets depending on a google map screen shot on our dying phone. Eventually we wound up in front of the apartment and were met with a locked door. No note. No indication that we had even stumbled upon at the right apartment. We rang several buzzers because we were at a loss for what else to do. After hearing a couple neighbors respond in Spanish, which we don’t speak we decided to go to Starbucks for wifi. We hoped there maybe we’d have finally received a response from Sol about how to check or at least what buzzer to press for the apartment. At Starbucks we scoured our emails and AirBnB for some sort of information to figure out how to either get into contact with Sol, or how to check in. All we could find was her phone number. Since we aren’t from Spain we had to ask some locals to borrow their phone to call the number listed as Sol’s. Of course it was disconnected. After looking up some hostels nearby we decided to try once more ringing random buzzers at the apartment building and hoped our luck would change. If it wasn’t for Sol’s neighbor on his balcony who told us which buzzer to press we would have bailed and gotten a hostel out of pure desperation. When we finally got inside that apartment building my friend and I looked at one another teary eyed and confessed we’d both been about to call our Mom’s and break down that we were in a foreign city with nowhere to stay. However I almost wish we’d bailed and gotten a hostel. God may have been trying to tell us something. In the stairwell we were greeted with a shattered window. The first thing inside Sol’s apartment that we saw was a ratchet mattress shoved against the wall blocking the majority of the entry way. When we got to our room, which was fine in size we noticed the walls were in desperate need of paint or being washed and the stale smell of cigarettes lingered. I could have dealt with the dust on the floor if I could have slept soundly through a single night. The first night a mother and her daughter were staying in the apartment and the daughter screamed and cried throughout the night. Then the last night we were awoken by the absolute loudest...
Sol es muy amable , la habitación es grande y con luz y el barrio muy céntrico. Lo recomiendo!
I had a lovely stay in Barcelona with Sol. She was very helpful whenever I needed anything and her flat is in a fabulous position. I walked everywhere and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and architecture of the buildings as I went from place to place. The room was quiet and comfortable and her cat is lovely. I would stay there again for sure and would recommend her place for anyone wanting something central to so many things.
Thank you Sol for my lovely stay I'm Barcelona. :)
Sol provided us with clean and simple accommodation, right in the centre of Barcelona. Her apartment is located on the same street as the Palau de last Musical, famous for its unique and beautiful architectural design. She communicated everything we needed to know in English and was very pleasant.
We had a wonderful stay at Sol's house which is located in the most central, lively, artistic yet peaceful part of town. Sol welcomed us at 1.30 in the morning because of a delayed flight without a problem or additional fees, and made us feel very welcome. True, the room looks different to the pictures and the kitchen is only accessible for breakfast use, but Sol was so kind and generous with us that none of that mattered. She made great recommendations for our outings/restaurants/bike rentals, and provided us with all we could wish for! Thanks again Sol, you made us want to visit Barcelona - and Chile! - again.
My boyfriend and i booked to stay here for five nights. We booked it because it said we could use the kitchen and we were hoping to make some food to save money. Though it says on airbnb that you can use the kitchen and shower and washer once you get to the apartment sol shows you the house rules which say your only allowed to use the kitchen in the morning and NOT allowed to cook in it. Your only allowed to take one shower a day for 10 minutes during the hours she wants. It's not as relaxed and chill as she makes it out to be. Also we waited for 15 minutes outside for Sol to let us in the first day we got there and during this time my boyfriend had his backpack stolen on the street while we waited. It you are just looking for a bed stay here if not I wouldn't suggest it.
