You have your own WHOLE apartment, right Downtown with 24hr public transportation to EVERYTHING! FREE 24hr PRIVATE PARKING! Walk, bike, streetcar, subway. FREE WIFI. It's super affordable and super awesome!! Come on down!!
Wonderful warm, charming, comfortable, 11-foot high ceiling, self-contained open concept 1-bedroom apartment in downtown (actually) Toronto. Overlooking the wonderful Allan Gardens, this apartment, which is inside a 100 year old house, is as central as it gets - just three blocks from the bustling College and Yonge intersection. In terms of describing the apartment, the pictures do the talking! Of particular note is the amazing bed! As an experienced AirBnB traveller myself, there is nothing worse than a crappy bed; not here! Even the sofabed in the living room is great to sleep on!
Situated literally on Carlton Street, this apartment can be considered the epitome of eclectic downtown living - 100 yr. old character filled home, Allan Gardens botanical garden outside your window, a vibrant pedestrian culture, a "BIXI" (Bike Share) bicycle rental station literally across the street, and a 24 hour College streetcar just paces from the front door. The apartment is in between four very distinct communities and belongs to what has been referred to as the Garden District - which is not a common local reference, but nevertheless.
Two blocks to the east is the wonderful main strip of Cabbagetown (to which our apartment would most widely be considered to belong to) (website hidden). Perfect for an afternoon stroll, a beverage, exploration of our downtown Riverdale Farm, or your local grocery/drug store needs.
Two short blocks to the west is "The Village" (Church and Wellesley st.) (website hidden). A liberated space for our LGBT community; also a wonderful community to explore: lively nightlife, great patios, and many of your shopping needs - groceries, local meat, fruit market, etc. Also, at the south base of Church st. is the fantastically located Loblaws; this is the Loblaws supermarket of all Loblaws supermarkets! Enjoy a fast and affordable dinner on site (great seating), buy all your groceries, and just in case, the Liquor/Beer store is just upstairs.
To the north and south are two gentrifying communities: St. Jamestown and Regent Park. These communities are a significant distance further than the two communities described above. These communities may be of interest for the adventurous and for those pondering social dilemmas. With all gentrifying communities you can expect to come across some interesting folks.
In Relation to other Communities
In being right downtown, you have excellent access to all that the city has to offer: the Distillery district, Yonge St. strip, Bay Street, the Esplanade - St. Lawrence Market, what used to be the Club District, both downtown universities, all theatres, Air Canada Centre, Rogers Centre, art galleries, CN tower, etc. etc. To the not so distant east is Leslieville, the Danforth - Greektown, and the Beach. Also, as you may know the West side (Little Italy - College St., Queen West, West Queen West, Dundas West, Roncesvelles, Ossington strip, Parkdale, High Park, the Annex, King West, etc.) of the city is a thriving community. Your 24 hour College Streetcar is your portal to the west: Super Easy! I can breakdown detailed points of interest in the West for you once we make contact. Say goodbye to aimless walking in undiscovered cities and say hello to adventure and spontaneity within a framework that works for you!
If you chose to stay in this wonderful apartment, you will not be disappointed; do consider it your home away from home. I am a local resident and have been living in the community and in downtown Toronto since 1986. I will give you as much or as little information as you desire. Please consider me a great resource to you for your city exploration and any needs. I will ensure that you have the type of trip you desire; on the other hand if you wish, I will give you the keys and say no more. I look forward to welcoming you!

I stayed at the Lofty Lively apartment for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location allowed easy access to the cable car and subway which put me in the center of the city in less than 15 minutes. The room has a classic old style feel with high ceilings and wooden floors.
Had a great time, lovely appartment. Hardly wanted to leave the sofa after having my breakfast in the morning sun. And Angie and Elvis are very friendly and helpful.
No problems recommending this place if you're heading to Toronto.
Elvis was easy to communicate with and very ready with suggestions for things to do while in town. He marked out places for us on a map of things we might be interested in and couldn't have been more helpful.
Toronto is a really easy city to get around in and Elvis' place is nicely located by a street car stop that will either get you where you need to go directly or get you to a place that can.
Some cool places to check out within a very short walk of the apartment are Cabbagetown Brew (for coffee and breakfast) and House on Parliament (for all the beers)... but as mentioned before, you're only a streetcar away from everything.
Would stay here again should I come back through.
This apartment is supernice and so are the hosters. Elvis and Angie are very lovely couple and caring persons. Elvis welcomed us and told us about places he recommended and the day after Angie came down to check if everything was ok. Supermarket is around the corner and 15 min walk to Eaton center. I would recommend this apartment to anyone and definetly book it again. Very neat, warm and cozy. We loved it
Elvis and Angie were great hosts! Angie met us upon arrival and gave us some directions and advice on the area. The place was clean and comfortable and stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The location was great as near nice restaurants and only a short 15-20 min walk to the Eaton center and downtown core.
I would suggest anyone looking to stay in Toronto to consider this apartment for rental
We'd definitely stay here again. Lovely appartment in a lovely building.
A comfortable apartment in a first rate location, hosted by amiable people. You may be able to find better at a comparable price but I doubt it. We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet the apartment was, given it's location on the corner of Sherburne and Carleton. People arriving with cars will find the free parking really convenient.
This apartment seemed almost too good to be true! Such a cute and well furnished apartment, it was a nice place to come back to. It had a modest, but well-stocked kitchen. It's located in a great part of Toronto that is walking distance from major attractions and close to the subway stop. Elvis and Angie left lots of maps and recommendations. They were very helpful and were so sweet!
Comfortable , leisure , convenient and friendly Elvis! All these made us had a wonderful travel and great memory in Toronto, if I have a chance to Toronto again, I want have the same experience like January 2014 winter, hope to see the smell of Elvis again!
Overall we had a great stay at Elvis and Angie. the place is old but beautifully furnished in the style of the 50s / 60s. Many books of high interest for the culturally savvy. A parking lot nearby is very convenient. Down town is a walk away or by bus. Interesting neighborhood. Elvis was very responsive. On the minus side, we were in January but it was very hot in the apartment, (still better to be warm than cold!). The apartment is not baby proofed so more convenient for a couple than for a family. We recommend the place especially if you want to experience something different and travel as a couple.
