The formal dining room by the fireplace...there are few nights along the Bay when a fire isn't welcome.
It is a lovely place to stay, walking distance to the Presidio. Hosts are warm, gracious & very relaxing to be with. Their home feels like your home.
Giuliana and Milos are a lovely couple, they would do all that is in their power to make you feel at home. As depicted the home is very "grandma's homy".
The bedroom was large and comfortable, as for the bathroom, probably because we were lost in translation was not a private bathroom. There is a Toilette in the first floor (living room) and in the second floor (rooms) is a compartmentalised bathroom, in one you have a sink and water and next door the shower (the only one in the house) For me this wasn't an issue but just bear this in mind.
If you are using car (not recommended at all in SF) the free parking is a super appreciated perk.
Location is simply perfect, good food around, and a plus, you open the door, and just turn your head to the left and have a view to Golden Gate Bridge.
Overall experience was great, good and deep talks with the hosts over breakfast or a glass of wine and cheese in the table. If you don't mind sharing the bath I would very much recommend the stay in this lovely house.
This is an amazing stay. They treated us like friends more than guests. The room is clean and tidy and they hosted us a red wine and cheese with biscuits. We talked a lot at that sweet night make us feel like home at SF. Of course they also can provide many advise if we need. BTW the location is very good and free parking is so connivence at SF. Highly recommend and we enjoy stay in here very much.
Our first airbnb experience (and the only one, thus far) was with Sandor and Giuliana -- and it surpassed anything we could have anticipated. They were the most welcoming and generous hosts and we felt at home from the very beginning; they share their home graciously. The location was perfect for us.
We looked forward to our visit to San Francisco and were happy to have found a place to stay in the Marina. What we got was a wonderful accommodation AND new friends! Not only are Giuliana and Sandor great hosts, they are fun and fascinating people and we had a ball together! A big bonus was being able to speak Hungarian, again. Thank you, Giuliana and Sandor for adding so much to our San Francisco visit!
Sandor and his lovely wife, Giuliana, were the perfect hosts for our recent weekend stay at their home in the Marina district. It was our first airbnb experience, and they helped make our stay extra-enjoyable. Their house was cozy and inviting, our bed super-comfy, and there was plenty to do and see just a short walk away. Another great feature: free parking on the street! (You can see the Golden Gate Bridge at the end of the block.)
After a seven-hour drive, Sandor greeted us with wine, cheese and crackers. Throughout our two-night stay, Sandor and Guiliana went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. They were delightful conversationalists, and provided us with a tasty breakfast. Oh, and they have the two most adorable dogs. Highly recommended!
We have 2 nights at Sandor and Giuliana slept and that is very good.
We are spoiled with the delicious breakfast [nice warm croissants] and the hostess were very friendly.
And everything was within walking distance.
About the Host, Sandor Miklos
My wife and I have lived in San Francisco for 40 years; prior to this, we lived in the Los Angeles area for nearly 10 years. I am originally from Hungary. I left when I was 16 in 1956. My wife, Giuliana, was born in Italy and grew up in Venezuela. For four decades, I managed our family’s pasta factory, Eduardo’s Pasta, in San Francisco. Giuliana, meanwhile was the CEO of a management company that specialized in non-profit organizations . Between the two us we speak four languages: Magyar, English, Italian and Spanish. We have traveled extensively in Europe and South America and welcome international and national guests. We love living in San Francisco and taking full advantage of the geographic, social and cultural activities it has to offer. Our home is I a perfect location to easily explore the city and its intriguing, diverse neighborhoods. As the long-time columnist in the San Francisco Chronicle, Herb Caen, once said, “One day, if I do go to heaven, I will look around and say, ‘It ain’t bad, but it ain’t San Francisco.’”
