The formal dining room by the fireplace...there are few nights along the Bay when a fire isn't welcome.
Sandor and Guiliana are wonderful people. I felt very welcome in their home. The room is quiet, even in a busy enviroment (busy street), and very comfortable. I was there for 9 nights. Guiliana knows how to take care of a host. She got up every morning to bake sure everything was prepared for my breakfast. This is more than I expected. And more than anything, she shared her views about the life in San Francisco. We had s very good and stimulating connection. The neighborhood is perfect, close to the Bay and to the Golden Gate, close to transportation as well. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend thud room with no hesitation. Thanks Sandor and Guiliana.
Sandor and Giuliana welcomed us in their beautiful house in a very warm manner. They offered us great breakfast every morning of our stay, followed by thoughtful conversations.
The location of their house is amazing, close by the the Golden Gate Bridge and about 3 miles walk to the Fisherman's Wharf.
We will try and stay with them for sure on our next trip to San Francisco!
We stayed at Sandor and Giuliana house a couple of days ago, during our trip in SF. They are hospitable, helpful and so nice. The house is perfect located, very close to the Golden Gate, is also easy to reach the center and the free parking is a great plus. The bedroom is comfortable and clean and fully equipped. Every morning our thoughts are for their delicious almond croissant.
We had a warm welcome with cracker, cheese and wine, and felt at home immediately. They helped us with good tips for sights and dining. Our conversations were always highly entertaining.
Unfortunately, I had caught a cold and they took special care of me with tea and so on. Once more, thank you very much for that, it helped a lot.
We look forward to being your host in Germany. Yours Doris and Michael
Sandor and Giuliana are such lovely people. They are deemed by Airbnb to be the model hosts for the Airbnb experience and I can see why.
Giuliana waited until past 12.30am for me to arrive, due to 2 very delayed flights, this despite being an 8.30pm expected check in. She would not accept my suggestion that I should book a hotel room to not keep them up too late.
When my luggage was lost, she provided me with a toothbrush to compensate and took a very active role in it's retrieval.
The following day Sandor drove me around San Francisco to allow me to understand the various neighbourhoods pointing out the major points of interest, which was really cool.
We had a lovely lunch, cooked by Giuliana, which included a refreshing glass of white wine, they invited one of their friends and the conversation was both funny and stimulating.
On one of the days of my stay, I walked the dogs along the beach with Giuliana and it was such a lovely time.
I found spending time in their company such an enjoyable experience, the have such interesting stories and have really lived life to the full. It truly has been my best Airbnb experience so far.
I wanted to extend my stay with them, but unfortunately they had other guests booked in, Giuliana tried to see if any of her friends would be able to accommodate me. Again, above and beyond what I would expect.
The neighbourhood in which the live is really nice and once you understand the transit system is very easy to navigate and pretty much central to San Francisco.
I came to America to find piece of mind and thought that once I left would never come back. But I fell in love with my hosts and fell in love with San Francisco. I found my piece of mind there and after conversations with Sander and Giuliana really feel focused towards the remainder of my life.
I envisage that I will return within the next twelve months.
Thank you Sandor and Giuliana for such a wonderful time.
To quote Tony Bennett ' I left my heart in San Francisco'
We spent some inspiring days together with Sandor and his wife. They are very beautiful and very enthusiastic San Franciscinas, giving us very helpful hints for our SF discoveries. As our host were much interested in more than just SF we had wonderful morning discussions.
Giuliana and Sandor could not have made us feel more at home. Our stay was perfect from the first moment to the last and passed by way too quickly. Our room was very spacious and impeccable and they made every effort to cater to us, from a lovely welcome glass of wine with cheese and crackers to the most awesome chocolate croissants for breakfast. If you stay here, make sure you have enough time to have a coffee with them and listen to their stories and recommendations. Worth more than any tour guide! We'll definitely be back on our next trip to SF.
About the Host, Sandor Miklos
My wife and I have lived in San Francisco for 40 years; prior to this, we lived in the Los Angeles area for nearly 10 years. I am originally from Hungary. I left when I was 16 in 1956. My wife, Giuliana, was born in Italy and grew up in Venezuela. For four decades, I managed our family’s pasta factory, Eduardo’s Pasta, in San Francisco. Giuliana, meanwhile was the CEO of a management company that specialized in non-profit organizations . Between the two us we speak four languages: Magyar, English, Italian and Spanish. We have traveled extensively in Europe and South America and welcome international and national guests. We love living in San Francisco and taking full advantage of the geographic, social and cultural activities it has to offer. Our home is I a perfect location to easily explore the city and its intriguing, diverse neighborhoods. As the long-time columnist in the San Francisco Chronicle, Herb Caen, once said, “One day, if I do go to heaven, I will look around and say, ‘It ain’t bad, but it ain’t San Francisco.’”
