Independent apt near Cinque Terre

Apartment - Entire home/apt · SP, Levanto, Liguria 19015, Italy

The Space

Great apartment between Levanto and Monterosso offers easy access to the Cinque Terre. Great place for hikers and nature lovers. The apartment is located on the bottom floor of our home, a typical Ligurian farmhouse that was originally built as a mill in the 1700s. A bubbling stream runs outside the apartment - wonderful for sleeping!
Our 2 room apartment features an independent entrance, fully equipped kitchen, 4 comfortable beds, outdoor space and fresh veggies from our garden and organic eggs from our chickens! We live onsite so we are available for advice or help when needed.
The apartment has high-speed wi-fi internet connection and a fully stocked English language book collection.

We are located in the township of Levanto, a charming village with an awesome beach and great restaurants. Monterosso (and the rest of the Cinque Terre) is located 6 minutes away on the train. OR you can get there by an hour and a half hike straight from the apartment.
It's best to bring a car, but its not necessary. If desired, there is a scooter rental place in Levanto. A parking pass which allows you to park free at the Levanto train station and in the center of town and at a discounted rate at the beach parking area is included with the rental.

This area was unfortunately affected by the devastating floods of October 25, 2011. Though the apartment is perfect, there is evidence of flood damage on our property.

If you prefer a more central location in the Cinque Terre, or if you do not have a car, check out our other property in the heart of Monterosso! https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/679979

  • We had a great stay at Kate's house. It was a great base to explore Cinque Terre and was away from the bustle. There was plenty of room for the two adults and three children in our party. We loved listening to the stream at night and collecting the eggs each day. A great time. Kate was an excellent host, very friendly, great communication and had lots of valuable information ready to read. We would readily recommend her home to all concerned. Thank you Kate.

  • The apartment is in a beautiful setting, with a stream running alongside. The apartment itself is spacious and very well equipped. We had a car which we could park on the road outside and it was only a couple of minutes in to Levanto for restaurants, shops, the train etc.
Kate was a great host, keeping in touch before our visit and giving clear directions and was really helpful during our stay as she lives adjacent to the apartment. We loved the fact that we could collect fresh eggs from the chickens and veggies from the garden to use.
Rather than the crowded villages on the Cinque Terra, this is a great spot to explore the region but enjoy the peaceful setting for a relaxing time.
We would thoroughly recommend a stay at 'Paradiso', a great spot and a super base to explore with trails literally just above the house.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kate's farmhouse, it was so peaceful and relaxed, just a short drive into Levanto and close to Cinque Terre. The apartment was very comfortable and Kate was very helpful in recommending where to get groceries and restaurants and there was lots of information in the apartment to help us plan our stay. There was only 2 of us but it would also be suitable for a family.

  • Such a lovely apartment with Kate being an incredibly helpful and gracious host. We loved the babbling brook and our boys spent hours exploring it to search for eels, fish, frogs and waterfalls. It was a perfect location to explore the cInque terra and Kate provided a lot of helpful information and also the visitor parking permit which greatly assisted. Highly recommend Thanks for a lovely stay Kate. The breaks provisions and access to fresh eggs and tomatoes from your garden just extra benefits to make stay special.

  • Our family had a fantastic two week stay in Little Paradiso. The accomodation was comfortable and my children loved collecting eggs from Kate's chickens. Levanto had everything we needed and we had a super time at the local beach. This is somewhere that we would love to come back to. Kate was an excellent host and made us feel very welcome.

  • Loved our stay. The apartment was very roomy and welcoming and exceeded our expectations. Kate was very friendly and helpful, and even did us a huge favor on the night we arrived and helped us out throughout our stay. Would highly recommend this place to everyone and hope we get the chance to stay there again.

  • For the cost of a hotel room, you get a country retreat! When you have been on the road for a while, you value quiet... room... nature... everything that avoids the hassle of the tourists life. We loved Kate Little's apartment. We loved living on the mill floor of an old water mill cottage. We loved being able to check on the chooks each morning when we fed them food scraps. We loved the sound of the water stream running past our front door. This apartment has something special to offer the traveller who wants more than plastic hotel rooms. Don't expect luxury... everything is nice and clean and spacious... but glass and brass is not what this this apartment is about. You'll need a car to travel the relatively short distance up the valley. You'll need to do your own cooking... otherwise you're missing the whole charm of this apartment. Kate is a lovely person who adds to the homespun charm of the place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • We absolutely loved this apartment. From the very start, Kate was incredibly welcoming and helpful. She picked us up from the train station and stopped at the grocery for us to pick up some things.
The apartment is completely charming and spacious. It has literally ALL the necessities and now in our next rental, we miss some of the functional pieces that we took for granted at Kate's.
The location is truly best suited with some sort of vehicle, as it is about a 20 minute walk into Levanto, and although a beautiful walk, tires you out if you have to go more than once or twice. We rented a motor scooter in Levanto from Paddock scooter rentals and had honestly the MOST fun of our entire vacation riding it between the Cinque Terre towns and even all the way to Portovenere! Portovenere was our favourite! It was 100 euro for two days, helmets and insurance included. I'd have to say it was the best 100E we have spent this trip.
The entire experience was wonderful at Kate's. From cooking with the fresh herbs and gathering fresh eggs every morning from the chickens, we wish we had never left!
Be sure to bring slippers as the cool stone floors can be chilly on the feet but the heater is more than sufficient to heat the apartment if you find it necessary.
Thank you again so much Kate. We will keep your place in mind when we return to the CT!

  • Kate was a wonderful, accommodating host. She was also our ride to and from the train station in Levanto upon arrival and departure. Fresh eggs, beautiful view, great hiking, fireflies, and a comfortable apartment. We had a great time.

About
I'm originally from Texas but have lived in Europe since 1987. I moved to Italy in 1989 and never left. I lived in Monterosso al Mare (Cinque Terre) for 18 years before moving to Levanto in 2007 with my husband and son. I am passionate about making, eating and sharing good food. I love the sea and the woods and am frequently either hiking or out on a boat.
