The Space

The perfect Santa Monica beach getaway!

Just 5 blocks from the beach in the heart of Santa Monica. Walking distance to the Promenade and the famous Santa Monica Pier, and one block from Montana Ave. shops and restaurants. Ideal public transit location. A great way to enjoy Los Angeles by the ocean!

1 Bedroom: can be open or closed off from the rest of the house. Futon in the living room gives additional sleeping space for guests. Both bed and futon are full size. Fresh linens and pillows provided for each guest.
1 full bathroom: Fresh towels provided along with soap, shampoo, and conditioner
Complete kitchen: Everything you need to cook in- oven & stove, microwave, fridge & freezer, coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, juicer, plenty of pots and pans, dishes, and utensils.

BUT- the BEST part of this unit is the gigantic private fenced-in front yard. It comes complete with patio furniture, a fire pit and a grill- perfect for BBQ's after spending the day at the beach!
Wifi internet included.

Our parking situation has been fixed! Now guest parking passes are available. The parking is street parking, so like any city, make sure to pay attention to the street signs. But you honestly do NOT need a car to enjoy Santa Monica, which is a rare treat for Los Angeles! The entire area- from beach to shopping districts- is walkable from this property.

I will be happy to provide plenty of recommendations for things to do- restaurants, bars, recreation, working out, etc.

Very accommodating host, and will be available by phone 24/7 during the length of your stay. Come enjoy the beach! :)

  • the hosts are extremely friendly, but i was very dissatisfied with the apartment. the bed (i mean very old futon) was quite uncomfortable. the walls are paper thin. i could hear the TV, the dog barking, and the boyfriend snoring in the next room. paper thin walls! that said, the two owners (a boyfriend/girlfriend) were very nice.

  • We had a great stay at Brittany's house in Santa Monica! Close to the beach, groceries and various services nearby. Brittany was an excellent host, apartement nicely prepared and quick to answer any questions. Our recommendations!

  • Our stay at Brittany's place was excellent, plenty on information left for us to find our way round. The place is in a great location handy to all of the shops, restaurants and bars. Parking was easy and we managed to get a spot right outside most days.
    Thanks again!!!

  • We had an excellent stay at Brittany's Bungalow. Really enjoyed the yard and the location. Close to the beach and everything else we could ever need. The only real problem was the weather and the bus route that was a little too close and started a little to early .. but I am pretty sure that Brittany was not at fault for either of those. :-)

We will be back .. actually the first words we used to describe it was "charming' .. so how can you not want to stay again.

  • my boyfriend and i stayed at brittany's adorable little bungalow for 3 nights over the holidays and really enjoyed our visit. this little studio is a great size for a couple. i imagine it might start getting a little cramped with more people, but that may also depend on how close you are with your friends!

yep, the place is indeed, as mentioned in a previous rview, a bit rough around the edges, but still quite cute in its vintage los angeles style. the location can't be beat if you're wanting to walk to shopping, see the pier or check out the beach. the added benefit is that it's on a very quiet residential street, which we very much appreciated.

  • Brittany's Santa Monica location is unbeatable. you won't need a car to enjoy the beach, cafes, 3rd St. et al. Rent a bike at the beach and ride for miles. The bungalow is a little rough around the edges, but you won't be spending much time indoors. You're definitely paying for the (email hidden)d it's worth it. I never met Brittany or Jud during our 3-day stay, but communication via text worked just fine.

  • We had a great time in Brittany's bungalow. The place is on a fantastic location: only a few blocks away from the beach and all necessary shops. Yet it is quiet and calm. The street itself is beautiful with its long palm trees and we enjoyed the outside dining table a lot. The bungalow indeed has some maintenance issues, but nothing serious. Just don't expect a shiny new bathroom. We were with a party of four and I can imagine that with two your stay is even more relaxt. The communication with Brittany was perfect. I would recommend staying here and would love to come back.

  • The location is great and the neighborhood very safe. Brittany's communication was great and she was really helpful in the lead up to our visit.
Unfortunately we were a little disappointed with this property. It has definitely seen better days and i would say the pictures are a little misleading. There was a constant drip from the bathroom tap which was quite loud and disturbed the person who slept on the pull out bed in the living room. We mentioned it to our host who said she would try and send someone out but it was due to having 'an historic house'.
It was particularly clean which was disappointing as we paid a cleaning fee as part of our stay (layers of dust and hair in bathtub.) However, if you are looking for somewhere to lay your head rather than somewhere to spend a lot of time i would recommend it the location is incredible very close to the beach, 3rd street promenade and montana avenue and an easy drive to venice/ marina del rey and Hollywood.

  • I stayed in Brittanys bungalow with 3 friends for one week, and it was amazing! It was so cosy. Perfect location, close to the beach, a supermarket just nearby, close to santa monicas center. It was all we needed for that week. All the information that Brittany has on her page, is correct.
I dont think there can be any better host than Brittany! The communication was always really good, before, during and after our stay. She was so sweet, when we arrived there was a little welcome card next to a bottle of wine.
We will definitely stay in Britanys bungalow if we ever go back to santa monica! :)

    Thank you so much! :)

  • If you are looking for a place where everything is really modern and new, this probably isn't the place for you, but if you like a place with character, it will fit the bill.
Ask Brittany to explain how the parking works, as we found it confusing at first, and you won't be able to park outside the house unless you have a local permit. There are streets around where you can park, but expect a few minutes walk.
It's just a few blocks to the beach, and it's in a very nice safe area. Santa Monica is a great place!

I have always enjoyed the adventure of traveling. I just moved to California and am loving it! I work in the film business- I'm a costume designer for Hollywood productions. I love my cute little house with a white picket fence, and all that Santa Monica has to offer :)
