A.There should be space in the circular drive out front to accommodate 3 cars Be careful not to "stick out" in the street. The town does issue tickets.
B. There is free parking in designated spaces on Aunt Sukey's Way as available
C. Do NOT park in the shared driveway between 6 and 8 Aunt Sukey's Way without speaking with me first. There is limited parking and the driveway must remain accessible to me and my neighbor next door. For special occasions I will try to accommodate additional cars in my spaces out back.
Fabulous house, well-appointed and quite spacious! We loved everything about it, it was great for entertaining, and a 10 minute walk to town! Thank you so much for trusting us with your beautiful home!
My friends and I had a wonderful time staying at RIck's home! It was the perfect location for our weekend getaway to P-town. I would definitely recommend others stay here as well!
As part of my mum'a 60th celebrations we took a family holiday to America. The middle section of the trip was to stay in Provincetown. It is one of the most amazing places on earth!! So relaxed and pretty and unique. Richard was a great host collecting our bags from the port so that we didn't need to carry them and in the house he had left loads of leaflets and recommendations of places to visit. The house itself is a 5 minute walk off commercial street (Main Street in Provincetown). The walk is easy and the house is in on a quiet street. The house itself is great! With five double bedrooms and a massive upstairs including a roof terrace, the house gave a family of five adults loads of space. What is great about the house is that there is so much care which has gone into it. A different style in each room but also the art, sculptures and furniture around the house are all so unique and are what make the house have real character. We had an amazing time in Provincetown with the shops, art, food, kayaking, cycling and being surrounded by gorgeous dogs. I would recommend Richard's house and Provincetown very highly.
The house was the perfect setup for our large group and was nicely stocked w plenty of towels and kitchen supplies. Quick easy walk to town but you will have to drive to the beautiful beaches. Would definitely recommend staying here!
My girlfriends and I came here for a bachelorette party, and it was AMAZING! We couldn't get into the house until 4pm, but our ferry docked at 11am. Rick was nice enough to come meet us at the ferry and grab our bags and all the food we brought so we didn't have to lug it around all day or pay to store it. He was super accommodating and nice, and it really made our trip that much better.
The house itself was even better than I expected! It was very clean and spacious, and just a really cool space. We loved that it was also walking distance to town, so we didn't have to pay to cab it everywhere.
I would definitely come back here again!
PROS: The house is beautiful, as well as the upkeep/landscaping of the grounds. A particular standout is the deck. Lovely in the morning, to have your coffee on. Lots of room, and each bedroom can be individually closed off. If you need a home, and not a guest house or hotel. This place is GREAT!
CONS: These aren't so much cons, as information or things to keep in mind for larger groups choosing this property in Provincetown We had 5 big Texas guys, so adjust accordingly...:) Richard is very helpful and responsive, and you can email or ask him any questions in advance.
There is really only one full bathroom downstairs and a half bath (commode) upstairs. The upstairs shower next to the stackable washer/dryer was non-functional during our visit. Can be hard to juggle showers/etc.
Most of the restaurants/shops/entertainment venues we visited on Commercial Street were a solid 15 to 20 minute walk with some hills. We needed the exercise, but found ourselves taking taxis more than we anticipated. Side Streets/Neighborhoods in this area are not well-lit...so exercise extra caution when walking at night.
ONLY the bedrooms have A/C (window units). Summer can be truly hot/humid and in our case rainy...the fun in P-Town is to be had outdoors and on foot. Sweating indoors, too, may not be ideal for you. Ever heard the claim "there are only a few hot days in Summer, you really don't need A/C"? Don't believe it! You might want to consider a property with central A/C if that's an issue. It's a necessity not a luxury for Southerners. Never found a home in Texas without central Heat (needed rarely if ever in Houston winter)...not sure why Northeasterners think that central cooling is optional. Plan accordingly. Time to get off my soapbox now...:)
Thank you for your review.
A couple items I wish to respond to ....
First, the non functional second shower..... I wish you had mentioned you had difficulty with the second shower at the time you first discovered it. It distressed me to read about it for the first time in your review. I strive to be responsive to guests needs especially something as important as a plumbing issue that would affect every subsequent guests experience. Immediately after reading your review I went to the house to investigate. Another group had been there for 3 days without complaint but I did discover low water pressure from that shower head. It turns out sediment had partially clogged the shower head and it was a simple matter of removing it and rinsing the screen. A five minute repair that might have made your stay slightly more comfortable.
Second...distance from Commercial Street....to clarify, (website hidden) maps shows my home is .4 miles from Commercial Street and .6 miles to the Lobster Pot Restaurant near the pier where the Boston ferry docks. It shows it as a 6 minute walk. Most of my guests have told me they like my homes location because it is close enough to downtown but far enough from the noise and traffic on Commercial Street
Every guest has different requirements, desires, and expectations.
Im sorry my home did not measure up to yours.
Rick's place was absolutely perfect for our Fourth of July group of ten friends. We had plenty of common space, and the location was great - close enough to walk into town, far enough to be quiet. The deck is awesome.... We saw shooting stars at night from the hammock.
There is also a great convenience store (Farlands) right down the street with a decent selection and the best breakfast sandwiches we've ever had.
