A nice chalet with a great view and well located. Not an easy access but worth it.

Excellent stay at Chateau Elaine. Listing as described and very prompt communication. Easy check in. House guide lays out information well and easy to get ahold of Kurt during stay for questions. Group of 6 people. About a 7 min walk to village. The trek to chalet off the main road can be very slippery and it is not well lit. This was outlined before so we expected it though. Three bedrooms were comfortable. One full bath and one half bath on ground floor. Shower and sink in a bedroom. Kitchen has all the essentials for breakfast (or other meals if you choose). Bring an aux cable if you want to listen to your own device. All linens were provided. Overall excellent place and host. Would stay again and recommend!

It is our second time and as our first time We had a wonderful stay in the chalet elaine. The chalet is surrounded by snow and few chalets, no roads, no cars. It is very calm an quiet. You can ski in and ski out to "le rouge" lift or to the nearest bus station. The chalet is very comfortable for a family of 5. And the hamman after ski is definitely a plus ! We are looking forward to come back !

We had a truly fantastic ski trip and Chalet Elaine was an intrinsic part of that experience. The chalet is charming, very well equipped typical wooden swiss ski chalet (v pretty, romantic) and nestled in a quiet area above "Le Rouge" and is ski-in ski-out, warm (once we got our heads around the heating - v good instructions provided - thank you). Well equipped kitchen, V fast Wifi, v comfortable for a family vacation. Our hosts were very quick to respond, resolve any quirks/skwaks/problems. There is a 100 meter walk up to the chalet from Rue de Ransou which we were able to handle with ease and added to the adventure and remoteness of our active ski holiday (getting bags and groceries to the chalet does require some effort but added to the adventure / romanticism. We would gladly rent the chalet again should the opportunity arise - Expectations well met and exceeded.

We had a wonderful experience at Kurt's chalet! He and Nicola were great at communicating and providing thorough instructions, and the chalet was completely lovely with every amenity we could need. Close to center of town and the ski lifts. We had a wonderful time and would love to go again.

Swiss family spending part of the year in the Franschhoek Valley and absolutely loving it! Why? The people, the nature, the restaurants, the coffee shops, the wine ..... it's a wonderful combination that makes our time here so worth it!
