This newly remodeled 'Mesa Neighborhood' two bedroom suite has a master bedroom with queen bed, a second bedroom with one twin bed, sitting room with kitchenette, spacious bathroom with walk-in shower, private yard with patio, and off-street parking. (note: a roll-away cot with 4" memory foam is also available should special arrangements be made for a fourth guest).
The rental is located 1/3 mile (seven blocks) from the ocean, in a safe and peaceful residential (tract) neighborhood that was built in 1958. The neighborhood is a combination of original homes (some tidy, some shabby), alongside nicely remodeled beach/tract style homes.
'The Mesa', with it's many beautiful parks, beaches, and open spaces, is a choice location for those who enjoy the out-of-doors and a quieter setting. For those visiting family and friends, the Mesa's pleasant and convenient location make it a great spot for a home base.

This attached rental suite is separated from the rest of the house by a solid wall reinforced by sound board and resilient channeling for extra quiet and privacy. The rental has wireless internet throughout, cable television with DVD player, and a well appointed kitchenette with microwave, bake oven, coffee maker, toaster, and a good sized refrigerator (note: the kitchen is perfect for assembling simple meals, but not suitable for any substantial cooking). The master bedroom is 12.5' x 12.5', the second bedroom is 12' x 13.5', and the sitting room with kitchenette is 11' x 13.5'. The total square footage of the unit is 635 square feet. The suite has quality 'beach casual' furniture and decor throughout, plenty of closet and dresser space, and with its large windows and surrounding private yard has a very bright and open feel. The 10' x 30' private yard (separated from the rest of the property by a 6' solid fence) is nicely landscaped, and has patio seating and lounge chairs making it a favorite spot for morning coffee, outdoor meals, or just relaxing.

From the rental it is less than a ten minute stroll (or 3 minute drive) to beach access, and the west end of Shoreline Park (a beautiful 1/2 mile long coastal park which overlooks Leadbetter Beach and the Santa Barbara Harbor). The rental is located 1.5 miles from the Harbor (the beginning point for the mile long stretch of beach hotels and motels), and 2.5 miles from the S.B Wharf (located at the bottom of State Street). State Street is the center of town and is a quick 3 mile drive by car.
From the rental it is an easy 1/4 mile walk to the Mesa Shopping Center where you will find all the shopping you need to sustain a 'Mesa lifestyle'. There is a variety of simple restaurants - Mexican, Spanish, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, American, Vegan, pizza places, fast food and more. There is a very nice gourmet/whole food market/deli in the center, and also a Haggen grocery store. The Mesa's popular 'Good Cup' coffee house is only three blocks away. Bus stops with routes going downtown and towards the harbor are also just three blocks away.
* In addition to it's beautiful and convenient location, the Mesa is also loved for it's mild temperatures (City weather records show that the Mesa's summer temperatures are 10 to 12 degrees cooler than downtown, and 10 to 12 degrees warmer in the winter).

I was born and raised in SB, and have called Santa Barbara home for most of my life (50+ years). I have lived on the Mesa for the past ten years and love all the things it has to offer. I've been lucky enough to do a lot of traveling in the past, and know how nice it is to stay somewhere that feels like a home away from home. I think you will find that this rental is just that kind of a place. When I host guests I will always be based in the Santa Barbara area should anything require attention, while affording you all the privacy you desire.
