The apartment was great and so was communication with Tom. The location was very handy as well - we had everything we needed at our doorstep. The only downside was that it was a bit loud on a Friday and Saturday night, but that is only to be expected given it's NYC!
We had a great time at Tom's apartment. The local had a good size for two people, with a confortable bed, beyond that, the bathroom and kitchen were clean and new. The pictures express the apartment as really is.
Certainly, in our next time in New York, we would like to stay at the same place.
Great location, subway just a short 5min walk away. Nice and warm during the cold December months (2 heat pumps - 1 is in the bedroom). Nice apartment which is pretty well equipped with dishwasher/microwave/wi-fi etc.
It was quite noisy on a thursday night with the party crowd but got better as the days went on.
Two constructive feedback points:
1) The bedding was disappointing. No duvet..just a sheet and a brown furry blanket that didn't seem very hygenic. Pillowcases mismatched. A nice set would go a long way!
2)Some unsavory white stains on the sofa bed in the lounge. Seeing as this is the main room to hang out in, we covered it with a sheet.
Thanks Tom for a great place to stay! We loved every second. The place was very clean and tidy. With a subway stop so close, it was super easy to get around the city. Can't wait to visit again!
Great apartment right in the heart of the LES, the coolest and hippest neighborhood in NYC. Tons of great restaurnats, bars, and coffee houses within walking distance. We stayed there during the Thansgiving holiday. The apartment was clean, except for some leftovers left form the previous guest inside the fride. (This was not a big deal to us). Tom was very responsive the 2 times I called his cellphone. We needed extra towels and linens for my two teenagers that were sleeping in the sofa bed and Tom made it happen right away. The bed in the master bedroom was really comfortable while the sofabed was just OK. But hey, it's a sofabed and we expected that going in. The WIFI worked great for watching Netflix on the nice flatscreen TV. You have access to a great roof top with great views of downtown, good spot to take a bottle of wine with you and soak-up this awesome city. The Chinatown YMCA is within walking distance and for a few bucks they'll let you use their facilities.
- nice new apartment in secure building
- spacious living and bathroom areas
- provided with umbrella's, guide maps, hairdryer and fast internet
- great location!!!
- bedding & towels not changed since previous occupants stay (fixed after discussion with Tom)
- no complimentary toilet paper roll on arrival
- floor unswept and dirty
- situated on a busy street so can be noisy without earplugs
All in all a great apartment in a terrific location with an easily contactable owner able to improve things at your request.
Toms apartment is a well kept, safe and secure apartment in the heart of Lower East Side cafes and restaurants. The apartment was very tidy and was prepared with all necessary amenities for our 10 day stay. Self check in was very easy and we didn't have any issues during our stay, however Tom was very attentive and did check in via email to ensure everything was to our liking.
There were plenty of restaurants, cafes and diners in surrounding streets which made it very easy to find food at any time of the day. The apartment was also walking distance to food markets and chemists if needed.
The only issues we found with the apartment were 1. Street noise (was quite loud particularly Friday and Saturday nights) 2. The bed was quite firm. These two issues did not outweigh all the positives and we would definitely stay here again when heading to NYC.
this place is awesome, location wise, it's not only close to the metro station that easily links to all manhattan, but also close to countless great restaurants. definately go to the essex market across the street, the cheese shop and bakery inside was awesome.
tom is very welcoming and easy to reach, a very helpful host and
the room itself is very clean and comfortable, if there are more hanger in the wardrobe that would be perfect!
My husband and we lucky enough to spend 4 weeks at Tom's Lower East Side Blast apartment and we had the time of our lives-
The apartment is exactly like the pictures - it is spacious, clean, bright and everything about the apartment is so comfortable and extremely safe.
The location is fabulous- just a couple of minutes walk to both trains and bus and just go down in the elevator and you have the most amazing restaurants, bars and clubs all around you.
I can highly recommend Verlaine- whilst unbelievably loud, the food and Lychee Martinis were amazing -
Also for a fabulous and very special dining experience, our favorite was The Stanton Social
Also, if like us you struggled in the past to find great cappuccino in NY (we Australians are very particular about our coffee)...there are two very fabulous places within a couple of minutes from the apartment... El Rey in Stanton Street and Tiny's Giant in Rivington....top knotch cappuccino in both
We tried so many restaurants in the streets surrounding the apartment and never had a bad meal - you will be spoiled for choice.
The apartment is in a great building which is kept scrupulously clean by a lovely young man who seems to be cleaning the public areas all day every day.
We cannot wait to plan our next trip to New York and without any doubt, we would want to stay at Tom's place again.
Thank you so much Tom....it was a pleasure dealing with you.. and we hope to see you again next year.
