I reserved Gayle’s place through AirBnB, then later realized our flight didn’t leave until 10pm. Checkout is 10am and we’d be forced to spend 12hours schlepping our bags around until our flight. I sent Gayle a note asking if the unit was, by any chance, available one more night and could we reserve it? Within minutes she responded and we had our extra night. I really appreciate her quick accommodation! The check-in procedure and map seemed confusing at first, but it really wasn't difficult at all. The unit is fine, it feels like a hotel room in a hotel complex. It's clean but could use a little love. The doors "stick" and the kitchen/bathroom is odd, but there are towels, tissues, kitchen utensils, etc. - pretty much anything you’d need. The bed is fine, clean sheets but not super comfy. The location is fantastic!! It’s right downtown Kona, next door to beaches, restaurants, shops and very close to the market. We parked our car and walked everywhere. There is a security gate for the parking lot and another locked gate for the footpath - but neither of them are working so there's merely an illusion of safety. However, we never felt “unsafe.” There is a balcony looking straight onto the ocean (it’s the cover photo) and the view is just lovely. Great for watching the sunset with a bottle of wine before getting dinner close by. We didn’t feel welcomed like we usually do with AirBnb stays. There are rules posted throughout the unit, threatening extra charges should we neglect to remove trash, clean dishes, etc. We felt like we were intruding. Ultimately, there are plusses and minuses. If you’re looking for the AirBnb home-stay, this isn’t it. If what you want is a great location, clean facilities and convenience for a couple of days, I would definitely recommend it for that!

Gayle's place is very nice and at a great location to everything! We loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves and there had a gorgeous view of right from the lani where you can watch surfers and the sunset ! The location is less then a block from the market and right on Ali'i drive where everything is. The kitchenette was stocked with everything you would need to make a few meals. Defiantly would recommend this place!

Gayle's condo is beautiful and looks just like the pictures. It's literally steps away from the ocean and tons of shopping and restaurants. We had a great time. We were a little confused on how to check in so make sure you check in at the big desk inside on the left and not the smaller desk that has a window in the front of the building.

My husband and I stayed in Gayle's renovated condo for our Babymoon (which she graciously switched us to from the original one we requested) and it was so comfortable and convenient. The AC was cold, murphy bed was comfortable, and we were able to cook breakfasts in the unit each morning if we wanted with the upgraded and furnished kitchen. The full-size refrigerator was perfect for groceries or left overs from the eateries within walking distance. The condo is centrally located in historic Kona for shopping/dining and was plenty of room for the two of us. Would definitely recommend if you're considering Kona!

The unit is simple and the kitchen appliances are limited but this place was in a good location and we did not spend much time in the room so suited us just fine.
