Welcome to Chezlinhlinh House, the House of Love
Welcome to Chezlinhlinh House, the House of Love, in the city center of Hanoi, Vietnam. With nicely decorated rooms and air conditioning you can expect a cozy and comfortable place to stay as well as being treated as a member of our family.
Located in the former Ngoc Ha flower village, near the botanical park of Hanoi you can enjoy (a great central location near all the sights and sounds of Hanoi) healthy living environment and just a few minutes you could access to Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, One Pillar P(website hidden), West Lake and Temple of Literature.
My family has been living in Hanoi for 300 years passing down through 14 generations, witnessing the history as well as modern period so we are positioned to share with you our lovely historical Hanoi.
Spend a few days with us, going to buy food in the local market, prepare Nem (noodles with various ingredients) and enjoy the local cuisine, drink a cup of lotus tea or Vietnamese coffee. You will enjoy and learn more about our Hanoi than staying in a standard guest house or hotel.
We work in the Vietnam tourism industry over 12 years and as a division of Amo Vietnam Travel, we can assist you in the perfect itinerary in the North of Vietnam as well as in other part of the Country, Cambodia and Laos.
Thuy made us feel welcome with a homecooked meal the night we arrived. Her house is very clean and welcoming. The room is spacious, quiet, and clean. Unfortunately we were feeling ill when we first arrived in Hanoi, but this quiet bedroom was the perfect place to get some peaceful rest in a busy city like Hanoi.
Exceptional accommodation within walking distance if West Lake, Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and lake p(website hidden). Close to the Ha Noi brewery too although only the empty bottles can be seen peeping over a very high wall! The family were very welcoming and the host met me to take me directly to the house. The room(s!) were superb and included a good sized balcony overlooking the neighbourhood behind. Excellent hot water. It was all exceptionally clean and very well kept. I felt spoilt in every respect. :) The family were delightful. Although a 'homestay' they achieve a fair balance between providing privacy and friendship. It was excellent value. I would recommend an early booking as accommodation such as this is likely to be well subscribed.
The Chezlinhlinh house is nicely renovated home. We had a large room on the second floor, about 20' x 20', with a king-sized bed and a full bathroom, all nicely finished. It is situated down a narrow lane which is similar to the Hutongs in Beijing so it can be a little confusing and disconcerting since these lane ways are named by the street address of the street they come from. As a result, the lane number to the north is 173 and to the south is 209: just watch for the blue signs NGO 173, etc. It is well lit at night and busy so we did not feel uncomfortable walking around at night.
It is actually fascinating as these lane ways are like little towns unto themselves. Shops of all sorts and homes of all sorts. You can't judge a book by its cover and these lane ways attest to this saying. Looking in through gates and doors, there are some beautiful homes, of which Chezlinhlinh's is one. Chezlinhlinh's home is actually around a corner (at house 75) and there is a high rise being built now so it can be a little noisy during the day.
We walked to the Ho Chi Minh Museum (well worth seeing) the first afternoon, stopping along the way for Pho Bo (beef broth). It was about a 30 minute walk although as with most of the streets in Hanoi that we encountered, motorbikes block the sidewalks so it can be a bit tedious. On the way home, we took the northern route and walked along the West Lake shore. There are bus routes along both main roads, so other areas can easily be reached.
Staying with Thuy and her family was an excellent experience. My husband and I had never been to Asia and Thuy was helpful over email before we even arrived. She helped us book a Halong Bay tour before our visit and also booked us a day trip into the countryside while we were there. Our first day, she gave us a map with recommended eating places and a basic translation of common food items. We used the map every day as we explored the city on foot and via taxi cab. It was a erasure
Talking with Thuy and Lam about their life in Hanoi over her home cooked meal was a true highlight of our trip. The house is located away from the busy Old Quarter and is tucked away in a charming series of small alley ways. The locals around the alleys were very pleasant and would try their best to answer any questions we had despite the language barrier. The laid back and easy going feel of this neighborhood is a welcome reprieve from the tourist bustle of the Old Quarter.
Very enjoyable stay with Thuy and Lam. Great help booking side tours and airport transfers to meet our specific needs. One tour Lam was our guide - it was a very informative day. Thuy regularly invited us to share meals but we tended to catch the local bus into town and spend our day seeing sights, finishing with dinner somewhere before getting a taxi home. Thuy did make us fabulous coffee before we set off each day. A great location in the suburbs to see some real Hanoi life.
Thank you both...we hope to get back one day.
We had an easy pickup from the airport and Thuy even walked us to the noodle soup lady down the block and helped us order dinner!! Thuy was a fantastic host, she had a great map and gave us several suggestions for buses and local meals. We enjoyed staying in her neighborhood (a 20 min bus from the old quarter and much more peaceful). The room was huge and very clean. Thuy also helped us book train tickets. We wish we could stay there again! We also appreciated the free drinking water.
I stayed at Chezlinhlinh for three nights with a friend in one large bedroom and we felt very at home. The room was clean and comfortable. Thuy was a great host and such a sweet person. She was easy to communicate with in advance and helped us book a day trip to Halong Bay. She also called us early morning taxis and provided recommendations for what to do with our short time in Hanoi. I would highly recommend staying at Chezlinhlinh.
