Ellen was one the most amazing hosts we've ever had! She met us at the airport and drove us to her incredible apartment. As soon as we arrived at the apartment she told us to put our beach wear on and she took us to lunch at this great restaurant called Coconut Grove. We relaxed, talked, shared laughs over Pina Coladas and strolled the beach. That evening we asked her where we could go for tasty local food and instead of just giving us the directions she actually took us to the restaurant, dined with us, and introduced us to all of her friends at the restaurant! The restaurant was called Papa Zook...so delicious and really great atmosphere. Thank you so much Ellen! You are amazing. We can't wait to come back.
We enjoyed the 4 days we stayed in Ellen's delightful cottage. It suited our needs perfectly as it was an easy walk to a great beach as well as being convenient to a grocery store. The cottage was well equipped for self catering which we made use of daily. There were lots of extra for the beach - towels, masks and snorkels and even a sun umbrella. The photos online give an true picture of the cottage.
Ellen was a great host. She meet us and an friend at the Falmouth Harbour and then graciously gave our friend a ride to the airport before giving my husband and I tour of the island on the way to the cottage. Ellen had made sure that there was bottle water for us. The next morning she dropped by to bring us fresh milk and a bakery treat!
Ellen and her Paradise View cottage certainly added to making our time in Antigua great.
Overall I think the location was the best part about this place, it was pretty close to Sandals, which has a nice beach. The downside is the mosquito problem in Antigua is pretty bad right now. Some of Ellen's screen were missing or broken so they came in pretty easily. There were also mice that got into our kitchen even if we kept everything in the fridge. Ellen gave us some great restaurant and bar suggestions and once we were comfortable with driving the trip downtown was easy. Our cooking gas ran out while we were down there, Ellen came to fix it and offered to refund us for our days without it (still waiting on this). Overall she is a great host, but the property could use a little upkeep. * We stayed in her house next door not the cottage.
The reservation was canceled 44 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Ellen is amazing. She went above and beyond what I expected from a host. She picked me up from the airport, showed me around, took me to the grocery store and was extremely warm. The house was perfect as well. Had everything I would want and more. I had a great experience with Ellen and will definitely be back the next time I am in Antigua.
Ellen is wonderful. The place is super cute and very pleasant. All amenities incl internet work great. Paradise view is the best part of the island to stay in. The beach 10m walk away is the nicest on the island by far. Great restaurants nearby. Helpful to have a car but not a must. Will definitely be going back! Thank you Ellen!
