  • Thank you so much Tamara! What a lovely space! Very comfortable and clean with an awesome view of Oaxaca city.
Tamara is such a warm and open soul and was so helpful with any questions and we even spent a day together visiting one of the local ruins Monte Alban.
I would definitely recommend it for anybody visiting Oaxaca, its great!

  • we enjoyed our stay at loma linda in oaxaca, everything is as described, the house is comfortable and the view amazing. we were very busy while we were there so didnt see much of tamara and shanti but they were great hosts and very responsive to our needs. if you are happy to be away from the centre of town this is a great place to stay.

  • We had a wonderful time in Oaxaca. Tamara had a great little spot. However, we did incur a few problems:

After twelve hours of traveling, we arrived at casa Loma Linda to no toilet paper, no towels (save for a used dish towel in the kitchen), dirty sheets on the upstairs bed, and only a moldy and ungodly stained mattress cover on the downstairs bed with only a single pillow between the two beds. Also, despite walking all around the property we were never able to locate the internet network she left in her instructions. With no Internet access or phone, we were unable to contact Tamara or Rodrigo (the house manager) about our less than desirable conditions.

Since, Tamara was not personally around to oversee the property before our arrival, i felt it only fair to give her an opportunity to respond. Though she wrote back, she was less than apologetic and did nothing about the cleaning fee we were charged, though the house clearly was not cleaned.

Three days into our visit, the housekeeper showed up, and the rest of our stay at Casa Loma Linda was enjoyable.

    Response from Tamara:

We are happy that Jennifer enjoyed her stay at Casa Loma Linda. Unfortunately she informed us about the problems that she encountered too late. She sent an email exactly one month after leaving Casa Loma Linda Oaxaca. This was obviously far too late to take action.

  • I thought the water pressure was great, and unlike many other places I've been, the water was good and HOT!! Plenty of water for two consecutive showers, no waiting, no problems. The garden is lovely and lots of birds visit in the morning. Having the kitchen space was a real advantage for us.

  • The bungalow is great for two people. The view is spectacular! If you leave the window curtains open you will be awakened by beautiful sunrises over the mountains north of Oaxaca. Because of the elevation, there was a breeze even when downtown Oaxaca was hot and still. The hill is indeed "San Francisco steep" if you drive, but it's a pleasant walk down the hill to catch a taxi or the public buses to town. The walk back up the hill is intense, but good exercise (or take a taxi for about $5 US). Tamara was very helpful and responsive. The house is a bit difficult to find, especially if you try to use on-line maps, but Tamara's friend drove down to meet us and led us to the house when we got lost. We had a great stay in Oaxaca.

  • The place is lovely, in a quiet residential neighborhood, up on a hill. It's space enough for a family with children, or two couples, with enough privacy for both. Tamara's friend picked us up from the bus station and was always ready to help. It's far from the city center, but if you're ready to use the (cheap) public transport, you will enjoy the peace of your own "pyramid" to climb at the end of each lively day in Oaxaca. Plus, the sunrise from Loma Linda is the most stunning view, worth waking up for.

  • The accommodation offers 2 double beds which could sleep 4 people plus a kitchen and dining area. It also has stunning views. The disadvantages are that the second bedroom is separate and you have do outside and enter the main living are upstairs to use the bathroom. The shower hot-water has weak pressure but works. The kitchen utensils and equipment need updating and additions like a toaster, better functioning coffee maker, utensils and crockery. The house is also very difficult to find. it takes 10 minutes to the CENTRO by taxi, which cost about 50 pesos. If ou just need somewhere to sleep and will be spending most of the time exploring and away form the apartment and are more used to moderate accommodation, this is a good option. The host and housemanager are very responsive.

  • Tamara was very nice to us and gave us precise directions to get to her place. She was very understanding about our hectic arrival schedules and was a great hostess.

The room has a kitchen and a common space to relax while enjoying the beautiful garden and view of Oaxaca. Given the location of the house this apartment is better suited for travelers with cars or eager walkers.

The view from the house was great and the gardens very soothing and beautiful. The rooms were clean when we got there and Tamara had them cleaned during our stay which was really nice and made our stay more enjoyable. The apartment has an electric stove and a fridge so you can even buy supplies next door and cook while enjoying the beautiful view of the Oaxaca and the mountains.

  • Tamara's casita is clean, comfortable and private. It's the perfect size for a small family. The amenities make it a small home; fridge, purified water, kitchen, bathroom, small living room with a desk and couch, large dining room and a private bedroom with amour. The view is fantastic! You can see all of Oaxaca.

By the second day I was able to navigate Oaxaca fairly well and getting back and forth became easier and easier. I chose to walk to town (I need the exercise) and enjoyed the 2 mile walk. The neighborhood is safe (as is the entire city.)

    I'd definitely return there again!
