The Greenleaf House, built in 1915, is our 3600ft² home with 6 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, & an open floor plan—perfect for gatherings of any kind. We're in the heart of the Rogers Park neighborhood, walking distance from many restaurants & 1 block from Loyola Beach Park. Breakfast is self-serve & included in the cost of the room. In the kitchen you will find bagels, cream cheese, eggs, yogurt, cereal & fresh fruit. The home is run by friendly local folks who are happy to help during your stay.

The space
This is an overflow room is only available when all other rooms are booked, check here first:

It is generally our TV room, but we have furnished it with a comfortable futon and added a doorknob with a lock and key for security and privacy during your stay. We ask you make the room available to other guests during daylight hours which may mean you convert the futon back into a couch, remove sheets, and put luggage in storage.

The room is equipped with a 60" hi-definition television with access to Netflix, an X-Box, and a small dresser for storing clothes and personal items during your stay. You will have access to the 2.5 bathrooms in the home—the 2 full bathrooms with showers are upstairs, and the half-bath is very near this room. Please check the listings above before booking this room. If we have other rooms available, we will ask you to book one of them so that we can keep the TV room available to our other guests.

The quiet hours in the house are 11pm-8am. That said, this room is adjacent to the kitchen where you'll find our self-serve breakfast, which makes the kitchen very popular and highly-trafficked starting early in the morning. As there is a door from this room that leads to the kitchen, guests staying here will likely encounter noise during their stay. Lastly, staying in this room requires that you convert the futon into a bed in the evening (clean sheets, blankets and pillows will be ready in the room) and convert it back into a couch in the morning. Converting the futon is very easy and doesn't require much strength—my six-year-old son does it easily :)

Also available in the Greenleaf House are rooms with king, queen, or single sized beds. There are two rooms with loft beds, which are suitable for adults or perfect for children. All rooms are private, have their own closet and dresser, and are equipped with front-door-style locks, for which you will be provided a key. Whole house rentals are also available.

Where you’ll be

Chicago, Illinois, United States

The Greenleaf House has become a hub in the Glenwood Avenue Art District of Roger’s Park, where all flavors of creative artists have lived and collaborated for several decades. The Mile of Murals—a community-based public art initiative—begins half a block from our front door. Within easy walking distance you will find a bustling nightlife, small theaters and music venues, several locally-owned eateries, and Loyola Park, which has a great playground and arguably the best sand beach in the city.

During your stay

There are often guests socializing with other guests or the staff in the communal areas on the first floor. Many guests enjoy using the living or dining rooms as a pseudo-cafe where they can drink coffee or tea and work on their laptops. We encourage our guests to interact and use the shared spaces as they would their own homes. However, no one will shame you for hanging out in your room. We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable.
