Jo and Keri were fantastic! I called Jo when my wife and I couldn't initially find the house and she was able to lead us right there. They provided us with plenty of ideas for what to do and where to eat. In the morning They made coffee, had grapes, toast, and fig jelly. They were very nice and very accommodating.
The reservation was canceled 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Everything at Joanna and Keri's was great. Comfy bed, sweet dog, private bathroom. Closet and drawer space! Since I don't drive, they were very generous taking me into town (downtown is about 1:15 walk on foot and bus travel doesn't save any time) and most of the time I took a taxi back so as not to inconvenience them (taxi service was prompt and reasonable). And I had mentioned to them that I was really interested in the areas numerous sinkholes, so they arranged an excursion to Devils Den, which was great! J & K have quality coffee too, which I drank every morning on the back porch. They also give great guidance on what to do / where to eat in town.
I had great sushi at Dragonfly and a terrific experience at CMC, the anarcho-communist library, a hub for activists of all sorts. They also live very close to another sinkhole Devils Millhopper (so many sinkholes w devil names!) which is amazing. Keri let me borrow her bike to ride there. I highly recommend all these places!
Thanks for all your generosity Joanna & Keri!
My boyfriend and I stayed with Joanna and Keri for the weekend. This was our first time using airbnb. They were both very welcoming and accommodating. The room and house were exactly as listed - both very comfortable. We are alumni of the university so we knew our way around town, but they had tour guide books and a bus pass on the dresser! The whole process from booking, to communication, to arrival was no fuss. I will definitely stay there again. Also, their dog, Bjorn, was a cute and delightful addition to our experience!
Joanna and Keri were welcoming and conversational. They offered us wine, pears, and coffee. Their elegant dog was very well behaved, (never barked or jumped once). The room and bathroom were a nice size and relatively private.
A nice lived in family home.
When I booked my stay with Joanna, it was the first time I had used Airbnb. I didn't quite know what to expect at first. But shortly after my arrival, any doubts about my stay disappeared and the experience far-surpassed all my expectations. From the moment I arrived in Gainesville, Joanna and Keri were warm and welcoming. Throughout my entire stay they were very kind, generous, and helpful. As it was my first time in Gainesville, Joanna and Keri helped me get my bearings and figure out how to use the bus system (which is really easy to use with stops located nearby) and get around town while providing great local insight into where to eat and get coffee. We even enjoyed a few meals together. After the first day I felt like I was visiting friends. I really enjoyed my time in Gainesville and in their home. It’s a quiet, relaxing place to stay with a lovely backyard perfect for your morning coffee or just sitting and reading. The room is comfortable and spacious, as well. Lastly, I’d be remiss not to comment on their gentle giant, Bjorn. He’s the most easy-going dog I’ve met and he makes you feel welcome, too! I can’t say enough good things about my stay and sincerely thank Joanna and Keri for opening up their home to me and making my stay so great!
