Bridget was quick to email me regarding any questions i had, and any information was readily available in the cottage. The location was perfect and very close to the heart of Sedona.
Bridget was a gracious host! The place was exactly as described. Sedona had snow right before I arrived and she warned about the road conditions. Perfect get away!
Staying at Bridget's little cottage was truly a delight. We wrote in the guest book we would like to move in! It was so comfortable and charming. The location is connected to the trails and if the stream hadn't been so full, excellent MT biking could literally start a few minutes away. Due to the wet conditions we ended up driving to the trails, but so loved the location and the place so much we are already planning a return trip.
Nice details include cozy mood lighting, the nicely stocked bathroom, very clean kitchen, and quiet private setting. Bridget is very friendly and helpful, and has stocked the place with plenty of local info. All in all, an excellent choice for a visit to Sedona.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Bridget's Quail cottage. The cottage is a charming, roomy, cozy retreat. Bridget was very helpful in pointing us to fabulous hiking trails in the area. We had a magnificent stay and hope to return to this beautiful place again.
We had a few priorities on our Sedona trip: find a place that two families could comfortably hang out together during the day and meal times and get out on our mountain bikes on the incredible trail system Sedona has worked so hard to create.
Bridget's place made all of that so easy. The cabin is much larger than her pictures show and there is a terrific outdoor seating area right outside. There is a very large concrete patio that wraps around the right side of the cabin. We worked on bikes there and the kids played all kinds of games. There is a big grassy field below the main house that served up hours of soccer fun. If that isn't enough, there is a full-sized trampoline behind the main house that my boys used for hours.
To avoid eating out all the time, we stocked the fridge and made most of our meals at the cabin. There's a large dining table with four chairs and a raised bar with two bar stools that overlooks the front patio. It was just perfect for our family.
My brother's family came out from California with a travel trailer. They stayed & slept at the Rancho Sedona RV park in town, but spent most of the days with us at the cabin. Bridget was completely gracious about us having another four people at the house and went out of her way to make them welcome.
The thing that I didn't know before we arrived was how close the house was to Sedona's trail network. The Old Post trail head is about two blocks away from the house! It takes about a minute to ride there. You can access the Old Post/Ramshead/Ridge trail system right from there and you can also cross Oak Creek at the Red Rock Crossing (which is a "feet wet" endeavor!) and connect with a huge swath of trails including Baldwin, HiLine, Templeton & Slim Shady. You can link together monster rides right from the house! It's seriously good stuff!
Before our arrival, my wife was worried about the location. She thought we'd be very far from town and would regret not being in the town core. That really wasn't an issue. The house is located in a beautiful canyon below the high school. It takes about 5 minutes to drive the length of 89A through town and about 5 minutes to drive down the twisty, scenic Red Rock Loop Road behind the high school. The short road leading to the house is unpaved and a bit rough, but isn't an issue unless you are driving a Ferrari!
The guys at Over The Edge sold me a great map (Beartooth Publishing's "Sedona Core Trails") and walked me through the layout of the local trails. If you aren't riding tubeless, get some Slime sealant for your inner tubes. My boys had multiple flats on their smaller mountain bikes before I set up their tires with the sealant.
Beautiful location! This was such a beautiful clean place to stay! There is no microwave so if you plan on making meals there plan accordingly. My husband was able to mountain bike from the front door. Love love love this place!
Thank you Bridget for warm welcomes. Great place to visit for some rest and relaxation. Place was very clean and amenities are nearby. Looking forward to coming back.
