  • Wow. Staying here was a great experience. The barn was the perfect retreat for our family for a couple of nights of blissful relaxation. The property has been beautifully restored and is both homely and stylish. It is situated in an idyllic hamlet of old stone buildings located in rural Catalonia, equidistant between the Pyrenees and the Costa Brava. Closer to home (5 mins drive) is the lake at Banyoles: great swimming and walks.
Roger and his daughters were great hosts. Would definitely recommend as a peaceful base from which to explore Northern Catalonial

  • We loved the beautifully restored stone building and the historic village in which it was located. It was a great base for exploring the Costa Brava and foothills of the Pyrenees while providing a quiet escape away from the tourists. The house was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We had a great Catalonian dinner at a nearby restaurant recommended by Jana. The house is a destination in itself and the few days we spent here greatly enriched our experience of Spain. Our only problem was the out of date GPS provided by the hire car company losing GPS signal just before the turn-off to the village!

  • This house is a GEM. It is in a village called Centenys with two cute villages nearby called Esponella & Meliante. Then you have about 7 minutes away the town of Banyoles where you have every store and restaurant. They are close to Besalu and volcanos of Olot and Sadernes for amazing hiking & swimming. Then you have the coast, Girona and more 20 minutes away.

The house is super clean and well appointed. Very good Internet access and the village is safe and adorable. Jana and her family are very accommodating.

I highly highly recommend this gem of a home! I plan to return and only here I will stay!

  • Jana and her father were helpful and friendly.
The renovated barn is beautiful and rustic, clean and well equipped.
Being part of the old village gave a sense of history and the position is really flexible for accessing the other villages, the foothills of the Pyrenees and the Costa Brava beaches.
You need a car for staying here, but that suited us.
Very quiet, but we were a group of five so made our own fun
Especially liked the lettuce from the garden and the local restaurant advice

  • Just spent four nights at this beautiful, tranquil place. Jana was a kind and relaxed hostess, and the two dogs and two cats, all of whom seem to enjoy each other, we're great companions to us. It would have been difficult to get along without a car, but since we had one, we took advantage of some of Jana's great suggestions for things to do and places to explore. I would definitely return, given the chance.

  • First thing you notice when you get in, it smells good and it is spotless! Jana welcome us with a smile even if we had a late arrival. The house is located in a very quiet area well accessible by car. The house is big and very confortable. Certaintly a very good deal if you travel with a familly. Should you look for peace for a while, ths the place.
When we needed anything,Juana was available vey quickly.

  • We had a fantastic 3-night stay at Jana's, which we were able to book at fairly short notice, and with a minimum of fuss. The accommodation is excellent. All three bedrooms are great - lots of space, little balconies, comfortable beds, etc. The kitchen is good, too - all the equipment you could want to make cooking a pleasure. The little courtyard outside is lovely - partially shaded by wisteria, it has plenty of seats, a couple of sun beds and a barbeque: perfect for a lazy evening. The pictures on the web site don't the place justice - we were all a bit speechless when Jana was showing us around because the place was so charming. The barn is situated in a beautiful old hamlet, just a few kilometers from Banyoles (with its lovely lake) and 40km from the coast. Jana and her sister were friendly and helpful. The two dogs and two cats made themselves at home too (very cute), but that may be a problem if you don't like pets. We would strongly recommend Jana's place to others - except those looking for noise, action and parties...if its peace, beauty, and tranquility you are looking for (with a game or two of table tennis thrown in!), then you've got it all.
