Escape to our beautifully designed Vermont cabin, transformed into a modern, cozy, and sun-filled retreat. From the moment you step inside, you'll feel at home in this inviting space. The entire cabin & yard will be yours during your stay. High-speed fiber WiFi keeps you connected and dogs are welcome.

We're just 15-20 min from Mad River Glen, Mt. Ellen & Sugarbush. Many restaurants & stores are within 15 min to Waitsfield, 20 min to Waterbury.

The space
We spend most of our time in the living / dining room which is open to the kitchen. It's a bright space with many windows with mountain views in the winter and has a tree house feel with all the leaves in the summer. During the fall you can enjoy all the changing colors of the leaves.

The kitchen features a full-sized refrigerator and top freezer, a dishwasher, dishes, and cooking utensils to accommodate 6 people. Kitchen items included are: coffee grinder, Chemex / pour over coffee maker, Nespresso Pixie machine (original taller style pods), microwave, food processor, pots and pans, baking sheet, strainer, cutting boards.

We provide a speaker for your use while visiting.

There are two bedrooms each with a modern wooden barn door we built and hung. The larger bedroom has a queen sized bed (memory foam mattress with hypoallergenic cover) and the smaller bedroom has a set of bunk beds (twin-sized mattresses).

There is a diaper changing mat for your use (don’t leave baby unattended and be sure to use on stable surface). We have toys, games and puzzles available as well as some books and local guides.

Our bathroom has two windows, a tub / shower and new in 2021 Kenmore washer and dryer available for guest use.

There is a loft accessed via the wood ladder which features a TV with an Apple TV you can stream from and a futon sofa. It is carpeted and has three windows.

We have an entry room for gear, coats, shoes, etc.

Guest access
While staying here you will be renting the full house. This includes all the main living spaces pictured as well as an entry way with room for gear/ boots/ coats. The yard/ driveway/ outdoor spaces are all open to you and your guests as well. It is all private to you (you may see the plow company or the propane delivery truck depending on timing).

Other things to note
Please crate your pets if you leave them in our home while you are away.

If you would like an early arrival or late departure we often can accommodate, please inquire early so we can check the schedule. There may be a small fee.

Neighborhood highlights

Within a 10 minute drive you can be in Waitsfield which has many great spots: Sweet Spot (coffee and breakfast/ lunch), Mad Taco (delicious!), Canteen Creemee (great creemees - like a soft serve - and fried chicken), American Flatbread (we liked the pizza so much we decided to get married there), Big Picture Movie Theater and Cafe (fun restaurant / bar section and movies). Lawson's Brewery in Waitsfield and is terrific! If you like beer this is a necessary stop while in the valley (just off Route 100 in Waitsfield across from the movie theater). They also have delicious pretzels and local charcuterie.

Within 15 minutes are the base lodges for Mad River Glen, Sugarbush and Mt. Ellen ski resorts. We love biking and you can have a great scenic ride right from our home. There are fun mountain bike trails right in town if you take a look at Mad River Riders for most up to date maps.

Waterbury also has many great restaurants and shops and is 20 min away. Ben and Jerry's and Cold Hollow Cider are also in Waterbury as well as more mountain bike trails!

Right down the street from our house is the Hedgehog Brook Trailhead which brings you up to Burnt Rock. Another great spot is the Boyce Hill Town Forest. In the Mad River Valley we enjoy the Mad River Path where you can access many river swim spots.

I enjoy the outdoors including biking (mountain biking and gravel adventures) and skiing. Designing and building or renovating are top interests (just look at our properties!). My partner and I met while we were both in college studying architecture, traveled quite a lot and ended up in Vermont as it reminded us a lot of the Black Forest. Our family has grown with our rescue dog Margo and two small children. We have a few short term rentals (central VT) and a cabin hotel in Waterbury, VT
