We really want to thank Jeanette for being a great host – this was our first vivist to Marrakech and our first experience of using airbnb and it all went very well. From the first contact with her, Jeanette was quick to respond with clear and helpful answers to all of our questions – on getting to and from the villa, the prices for taxis to the city, food shops in the area, suggestions for day tours etc. Jeanette arranged for Abdul to meet us at the airport and drive us to the villa (about 15mins in traffic), which was a great help – he is very nice chap and he gave us lots more useful information whilst on the journey. Abdul showed us around the villa and was available on the phone if we needed him – we did ask him to arrange a day tour to the Ourika Valley which all went to plan. The villa is great, very comfortable and homely – the kitchen has everything that you would need if you decide to self-cater on some days, which we did a couple of times. Wifi would have been nice but the lack of it wasn’t a major issue - if you need internet connectivity, walk to the main road and turn right (at the Total service station) and wifi is available at a cafe next to some ATMs (just 5 minutes on foot). The garden is lovely and was a real haven of peace and tranquillity, especially after a day in the Medina and souks! The development that the villa is part of is just off of Route de Fès, which is a very busy road, but you can’t hear any traffic from the property. There are a couple of corner shops at the entrance to the development, just 2 minutes from the villa, and fruit and vegetables are available from shops/stalls on and around the main road. We walked in to town (Medina or Gueliz) each day (around 2 miles/30minutes) but there are always taxis around if you need or prefer them. Thank you again Jeanette for all of your help and for letting us stay at your lovely villa. A&R
Having returned to Scotland after a wonderful week at your villa in Zohor, we were compelled to write a few comments on our stay.
My Husband had experience of Morocco some thirty years years ago whilst on an expedition climbing the M'Goun in the High Atlas; however for me a totally new adventure. We were most impressed with the villa and the amenities and just loved the garden to the rear of the property. The area generally was extremely clean and rich with vegetation.
The real bonus was having Abdul available for journeys (anywhere) a really pleasant, educated man who conducted himself not as a tour guide, but as a well informed travelling companion.
The villa is well placed for virtually all very reasonably priced daily provisions - bread, milk, delicious cakes, fruit & vegetables. The shop owners are extremely helpful. A small tip - guests are advised to have plenty of small change for the local shops.
A memorable experience, thank you, the Westerleas.

About the Host, Jeanette
My enthusiasm for culture, history, gardening, and design are always at the forefront of my passion for learning. One of my greatest pleasures comes from helping people and giving back with respect for those in need. Family and friends are central to who I am as well as branching out to meet new people who share my love of life and similar interests.
I have worked in many horticultural venues, the most famous was the BBC television garden in Aberdeen, Scotland. I have been designing jewelry for most of my life, with many exhibitions in galleries, libraries, boutiques, and private sales in the United States, Europe and Africa.
My love of culture and history blossomed as I traveled and lived in Africa and Europe for over 22 years. Recording my life's events by travel writing gives me much creative freedom of which my family and friends enjoy my experiences lived out for them as they recline in their armchairs.
Currently, I am located in San Diego, California to be near my family. My villa and garden in Marrakech was designed by me using local Moroccan craftsmen and European antiques. It is my personal home that makes a peaceful, beautiful retreat set in a tropical garden just perfect for a memorable holiday.
While in Marrakech, I worked in tourism, so, I can be of great help for the client coming to visit Morocco. I still have many contacts in Morocco that I currently use when visitors come to see magical Morocco. My team in Marrakech are fluent in English, French, and Arabic and are well seasoned travel professionals.
