About this listing
2 bedroom/2 bath home one block from UNC hospital and campus. Beautifully decorated with art and antiques; high ceilings in the living room. Family room w/60" TV, cable, internet, phone. Gourmet kitchen. Big yard and deck.
My home is totally unique in that it is a cottage that has been built-on over the years so it's a gem that is not noticeable from the street. There is a lot of room so everyone can find a private space to relax and enjoy. I am making it available when I travel so you will be living in a personal place with lots of charming personal paintings, pictures, etc.
TV in living room and master bedroom. Washer/Dryer, gas grill on deck, fully equipped kitchen. Only room off limits is my personal office off kitchen. Must use your own cellphones.
Interaction with Guests
I will interact with the guests anytime they need me via email or cell. My niece lives in the downstairs in-law unit. I will always have a person on-call for any issues.
The neighborhood is part of the historic district of Chapel Hill and it's a shot walk to downtown or campus. Walking is magical in this lovely town.
Public transit is free and 1/2 block from the house.
I certainly would not want any loud parties but entertaining is encouraged.
Beautiful, comfortable home with a perfect back porch. Lovely neighborhood. Great stay with wonderful works of art and all the comforts of home.
We enjoyed staying here very much. A very interesting art filled home, plenty of space for group entertaining. The location is ideal for UNC events, we walked. Would stay again if my daughter goes to grad school there.
Cheryle was on top of things from our first enquiry. Everything went smoothly from that first contact to our check-out - including our request for a last minute change of arrival date.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in her lovely home. Filled with beautiful eclectic artwork, it is the antithesis of a soulless hotel room. It was a pleasure to just sit back and relax and enjoy the space.
We were traveling with two girls (ages 7 & 9). They really enjoyed the deck-patio area and the yard. I would recommend this home for other families with reasonably well behaved kids - the amount of artwork in the house would make me nervous if my girls were still in their rambunctious years.
The location is quiet and residential, yet central to the university and only a few minutes walk from Franklin Street with its shops, bars and restaurants.
We enjoyed this house so much, that I would plan future trips to Chapel Hill based on its availability.
Cheryle was a great host and was readily available whenever we needed her! Her house was a perfect fit for what we were looking for. It was located in a great area with plenty to do. I would recommend her house to anyone looking for a nice, quaint stay in the Chapel Hill area!
