Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Your own acre of private frontage on the Delaware River! Modern house with chef's kitchen, espresso machine, farmhouse sink. Step outside to Adirondack chairs on the deck, stroll the sprawling lawn to the fire pit, then the beautiful river itself. Enjoy the deep soak tub and deluxe outdoor shower. Walking distance to charming main street, hiking nearby. Central AC. Oak floors and stone counters locally sourced and sustainable. All-natural Pharmacopia bath products. The ultimate upstate getaway.

The space
Huge new outdoor shower, available until outside night temperatures drop in the fall). The inside space is beautifully renovated, with an open and super-welcoming feeling. There are wide plank oak floors that were sustainably sourced from nearby forests. Likewise the bluestone countertops were cut from a local quarry. In the main living area, there are two large double doors that look right out on the river. On the deck there are two sustainably made, substantial gray Adirondack chairs with a table for relaxing and taking in the river view. Wonderful in the morning and at sunset. There is a sprawling front lawn with a fire pit, as well as an iron dining set for two. On the bluff area there is a new locally crafted wooden picnic table that seats 8, perfect for hanging out or dining outside. In the side yard, which is also quite large (the property is an acre), there are two vintage chairs and a table underneath two tall sugar maple trees. There are also additional lightweight Adirondack chairs that can be used anywhere on the property.

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire house, including the living room, two bedrooms, front deck, two lawns, a bluff with a picnic table, and a lower lawn touching the river. The basement is not accessible.

Other things to note
A few FYI's:

The house is not child-proof / child-safe, so you will have to make your own arrangements.

The river has no lifeguards and can be dangerous, and the river can rise up onto the property, so you will have to make your own arrangements and interact near and with the river at your own risk.

Host is not responsible for weather, including but not limited to snow and ice. Guest must take their own precautions and navigate weather at their own risk. There is no snow or ice removal for the driveway, porch, deck or any aspect of the house/rental/property. The town plows the roads in the event of heavy snowfall, at its discretion.

There are train tracks behind the house--the train runs through the town of Narrowsburg, right past the old "Feed and Grain" silo, which is actually still in business and beautiful in red and white. The train comes infrequently (a few times a week in our experience), though it is not on a set schedule that I've been able to find. It is the "New York Susquehanna" train line, better known as the "Suzie-Q"! It is not a commuter train, which is part of why it comes infrequently. When it comes it can be felt and heard in the house.

There's trash and recycling pickup, so at the end of your stay please place trash and recycling bags in the marked bins in the driveway at the end of your stay, tying them off tightly to prevent critters from raiding and causing mischief. Trash bags are provided for your convenience.

NEW: There's a brand new cedar outdoor shower. It's deluxe sized (7' x 6'!) with sliding farmhouse-style door. Note it is seasonal and will be winterized / water turned off when the temperatures drop in the fall, and then turned back on in the spring.

NEW: There is a brand new Generac generator, it self-tests once every two weeks for about a minute, on Wednesdays at 1pm ET. Keeps the house running in the event of weather-related power outages, book with confidence knowing you'll have Central Air/HVAC and wi-fi!

Neighborhood highlights

The house is in the charming town of Narrowsburg, a quiet, fun Catskills town that has the best of all worlds. Nature, culture, and friendliness. There's phenomenal dining (brunch, lunch and dinner) at The Heron, a farm-to-table restaurant overlooking the river which is a huge draw and has been written up in the New York Times. There is also The Cup, a warm and friendly coffee shop with the best egg & cheese bagel you could ask for, and baked goods and newspapers too. Then there's Vinny's farm fresh Italian food, The Laundrette, a wood-fired pizza place with great cocktails with sprawling river views, Narrowsburg Proper for specialty food shopping, The Nest (owned by a former Vogue editor) for home and design, Velvet Maple for vintage and unique items and designer clothes on the affordable side, One Grand bookstore, which is a perfectly curated and welcoming independent book shop (that's been written up in Architectural Digest, New York Magazine, and the New York Times), Meyer Wasner clothing shop for fashionable high-end clothing, The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance for art shows and galleries, and Lander's River Trips for rafting and canoe excursions all along the Delaware.

Hiking is plentiful nearby, with the Ten Mile River Boy Scouts having thousands of acres just a ten minute drive away. There's also great skiing within driving distance, and trees and nature everywhere.

Please note the Outdoor Shower will be turned off in late fall each year before the first freeze and turned back on after the first thaw in order to avoid pipes freezing. For specific dates please inquire.
