A pied-a-terre for the traveller or apartment hunter, we offer a comfortable place to sleep as well as a convenient location.
This is a great find!
A one bedroom private suite in our home, located in the basement.
The space is set up for sleeping, lounging, and light meal prep. We don't have a full kitchen, but there is a bar frig, freezer, microwave, toaster oven, kettle, crockpot and coffee maker. Most guests find that our place is better for stays for one month or less.
Here's what we've got on offer:
•private space with separate entrance
•comfortable double bed
bar frig, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster
- $15/day, $20/2 days, $25/3+days
- more than one week: $25/week
•walking distance to subway
(If you're looking to stay longer than a week, we can talk about using our kitchen upstairs).
This is the perfect launching/landing pad, whether you're in town for business or pleasure. (Keep in mind that the apartment is in our basement, so if you're over 6' you'll have to watch your head;)
Downtown is 20-25 minutes away on the TTC. Subway is walking distance, about 12 minutes. We are close to Greektown, The Beach, Little India and our neighbourhood has great cafes, bakeries, pizza, and Thai food. The best Ethiopian restaurants in the city are one subway stop or a 20 minute walk at Coxwell & Danforth.
Before hopping on the subway for a long day of touring T.O. you can grab some of the best croissants in the city at Celena's Bakery, and across the street, Caketown has GF options.
Our neighbourhood is buzzing with new development but still one of the friendliest neighbourhoods in the city. But don't take our word for it. Come stay with us and experience life with us 'locals' before you head out for an awesome visit in the T-Dot.
You will have access to our basement and our laundry room. When the weather is nice you're welcome to lounge in our hammock and use our BBQ in the backyard.
We always like to meet our guests when they arrive to say hello and show you around the place. After that we like to offer as much privacy as you need! But we're always up to take our guests for drinks at Relish.
We love our neighbourhood for its friendliness and spirit. And while the development keeps coming, the down to earth, small town feel of East York hasn't changed.
The TTC is close. Subway is a 10-12 minute walk to Woodbine Stn.
The 62 Mortimer bus is a 2 minute walk, and it will take you west to Broadview Stn and east to Main Stn.
In the summer there are two Farmers' Markets within walking distance, one on Tuesdays and one on Thursdays.

Overall, this was a very comfortable place to stay while we got oriented in Toronto and looked for a permanent place. The ceilings were a little low for my boyfriend, and I missed having access to a full kitchen but the suite was cozy and warm and close to the subway (30-45min to get downtown). We did have a couple issues crop up: the kitchen flooded one day when the weather got warm and a lot of snow melted at once, and the hot water stopped working consistently for about 4 days, but we felt that Paula and Andrew handled both of these problems efficiently, keeping us informed and dealing with them promptly. I feel that 1-2 weeks would probably have been the perfect length to stay.
It was the perfect home away from home! Andrew and Paula's place was fantastic Amazing little place! Had everything needed and more. Not too far from anything, and lots of convenient shops near by.Andrew and Paula are very good at responding to texts/messages and were very accommodating. They were very friendly and eager to share this beautiful city. The apartment is a great, cozy place very accessible to the downtown core within 15-20 minutes. he amenities were fantastic, great linens, bed was so comfortable and cable tv was a great option! Kitchen equipped with a toaster/oven, microwave, kettle and a fridge. There was also use of the laundry facilities too which was great. The private entrance was a definite feature. Thanks for the lovely stay!
Spacious, quiet 3 room basement apartment with very comfortable bed, cable TV, clean bathroom, equipment for basic cooking. Bookshelf with fiction ranging from Carolyn Keene to Crime and Punishment. Use of washing machine and dryer is a nice extra. Andrew and Paula are always quick to respond to any questions.
I was there for 27 days. So quite a long stay.
Andrew and Paul were good hosts.
They gave me the keys and information to find my way around. They also let me use their own washing machine. They replied right away to my inquiries by mail. And I had very little physical interaction with them during my stay which is what I was expecting.
About the apartment. It's situated in a basement with a very low ceiling, which was a bit uncomfortable for my height. But if you are let's say not more than 1.80m you would be fine. There is a kitchen in the entrance with fridge, dishes, grill, microwave, kettle. There is no stove, so you can't really cook, but if you need to warmup something it will be fine. The bathroom and the toilet are very clean with very good hot shower. The bed is super comfortable. As the apartment is in the basement, there isn't that much light. Do not go there if you expect to have a view.
Situation: With my own long legs, I could reach the subway station into 10 minutes, but to be exact, you would have to count more in between 10 to 15 minutes. Then the subway is a ride to Spadina and Bloor stations, which are quite practical. It takes about ~20 minutes. So you can be downton in around 35 minutes. There is not much around the apartment. But at the train station, there are the common things such as pharmacy, supermarket, etc. Along Danforth toward the city center, you'll find different cultural areas. I walked all the way once from the apartment to the city center.
The place was practical for my needs during my stay in Toronto, which was mostly working during the week, and walking in the city during the week-end.
Great cute room for one month with the necessary.
At few minutes from the metro and the Danforth Avenue. A good neighborhood with coffee shops and restaurants.
We have been received by Paula and Andrew who are very friendly !
Amazing little place! Had everything we needed and more. Not too far from anything, and lots of convenient shops near by. Would definitely stay here again.
Andrew & Paula were very friendly and helpful. We arrived a couple of hours early in the morning (10a.m.) and they allowed us to leave our baggage in their own apt. The apt itself is big, despite the low ceiling (not a problem to us once we`re 1.72m high). Within 10 minutes walking from subway and supermarket, it`s about 30min (using subway) from downtown.
Everything was neat when we arrived and it was nice to have a private entrance to the basement where we were staying. It was good to have a small kitchen to be able to have breakfast there. The subway station was only about a 6 minute walk which was perfect for us. Great price, great hosts. I highly recommend this if you are staying in the Toronto area for a few days!
This was a super cute apartment and we felt right at home!
