Interaction with Guests
Karla is our on site person who can help you with details. She will meet you so we need to know the time you will arrive.
Playa Ocotal is one of my favorite beach communities. It is a ten minute taxi ride to a busy little town where you can have great meals, purchase what you need and explore the local culture. We are located in a small gated community with only one beach restaurant and very little activity.
Call a Taxi and it is only $6 to Playa del Coco. Karla can provide additional information.
Other Things to Note
If you have a car, Karla can help direct you to sights so you can explore the area.
No smoking or cooking in rooms. We have a community outdoor kitchen. If you destroy the sheets, towels - break the tv or window - we'll ask you to pay. Oh! Please turn off the air when you leave the room - I promise you when you return it will only take 5 minutes for it to cool the room.
We had a really lovely time at Casa Lotus--and will most certainly stay here again our next visit to Costa Rica.
We were in communication with Adriane when setting up the stay. Otherwise Karla is your go to. She is awesome. Incredibly helpful and makes sure you feel at home. Her coffee was the best I had my entire stay. DaVinci was also the sweetest, most adorable cat, keeping tabs around the property, welcoming all who come and go.
The room itself was exactly what you expected. Clean. Comfortable. Great A/C. A lot of light. Amazing views of the surrounding mountains. Great Shower. Perfect for our needs. We got use of both the cooler and the beach mats. In the mornings as the sun was rising, I would sit out on the bench and watch the lizards and birds, and it was so peaceful. We had a local phone in the room which was great, and the wifi worked perfectly for connecting our phones quick, to check messages and email. The property is really gorgeous, and Freddy keeps it perfectly maintained.
The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes, and along a steep hill, but worth it-and very easy to manage. The part of Playa Ocotal where the apartment is located is gated after dark, and the security guards at the entrance were very nice. Father Rooster's is so convenient, and a great way to watch the sunset, or take a break from the heat of the beach. We rented a car and honestly were glad we did. It is an extra expense, but it made it easy to take day trips all along the coast, on your own time... to Coco, Playa Hermosa, Tamarindo, and even a longer trek inland to Arenal. Also super easy to take quick trips into Coco to pick up snacks, water, sunscreen, aloe...
We are so happy we were able to stay at Casa Lotus! And can't wait to be back!
Lovely condo with plenty of space for me and my roommate and we loved that playa ocotal was only a few minutes walk. Karla was more than helpful with our last minute zip-line request and was able to find us something the next afternoon and helped us get transportation in and out of town. Check out was a little odd our last day though. No one was downstairs when we left and no one told us how it went so we just tidied up and left the keys on the counter. Overall a wonderful experience!
The host makes us feel welcome, safe, and accessible. Great wifi, free parking, and clean. Great location! We definitely recommend it!
Very nice place to stay. We had a very good time and recommend other people to stay in this villa.
Our stay at Casa Lotus was amazing! The studio 1 apartment is very nice, spacious with plenty of room, kitchenette and nice bathroom. It's a short walk to Playa Ocotal and even though its uphill to reach the house, the walk isn't bad at all. Karla is a true hostess helping my friend and I get settle into the place, offering recommendations, coordinating a taxi into Coco. We planned an early New Years Eve early hangout with the other guests. Highly recommend staying at Casa Lotus!
Great place to stay with excellent location. Also, Karla the girl who attended us provided great tips and outstanding service!
