The Space

Its a Cottage! the estates game keaper lived here, after carefull refurbishig it has become the ideal stepping stone to explore the jewels of this region. In the house there are 2 double bedrooms 1 twin bedroom, 2 bathrooms, living room with fire place kitchen and dining area private garden, pergola for al fresco dining, super olive tree platform for sun downers and game watching.
the Maremma region of Tuscany is the coastal land, what used to be swamps only dedicated to cattle breeding is now a florishing territory, still wild and very much off the beaten track. The cottage is only 140 km north of Rome.
The Estates of Marsiliana is one of the few historic land marks of this area, still wils and savage, land managment and modern farming keeping a very close contact with traditions make this a very spacial place to spend time.
A car is higly recommended.

  • We stayed with four adults and two young children at the cottage. It was beautiful and absolutely reflects the pictures shown. We all enjoyed the stay immensely.
Besides the beautiful cottage, the region is absolutely marvelous with a ton of beautiful sightseeing trips within 45 min to an hour drive away. A supermarket is just 2min away with a car so you can get all the groceries you need close by. All our questions prior the trip were answered expeditiously and the Sabina's assistant was always there for us when we needed something.
I can definitely recommend this trip.

  • We (a family with 2 young children) very much enjoyed our stay in the cottage in April 2014. It's entirely private with a huge garden. Yet the local supermarket is just a few minutes drive away. The well-maintained and fully equipped cottage is part of a larger estate owned by Principe Corsini. The estate includes a castle (guided tour included) and produces its own excellent wine (which is available in the cottage). We were also positively surprised by the diversity and beauty of this part of Tuscany, which is quite different from the "typical" Tuscany (e.g., Chianti region) -- note that the cottage is not close to famous cities like Florence, Siena, Montepulciano, etc (all about 2h drive). The cottage is conveniently located for visiting sandy beaches (15-20 min drive), pittoresque medieval places (e.g., Pitigliano, Capalbio), wine tasting, several beautiful nature reserves, Terme (Saturnia), and even some art (Tarot garden). We also visited the beautiful Isola del Giglio. When we visited (late April), there were relatively few tourists, though I can imagine some of the attractions are much busier in summer. Highly recommended for an alternative Tuscany holiday!

  • We had such a great time at this wonderful house! Everything was just pefect! Sabina and Silva did everything to make our stay the best as possible and it was really great. The winetasting was really good and very sympathic. The house is so beautiful and authentic with so many lovely details- everything fits together. The garden is huge, there are so many possibilities to hang around outside around the house and there is no neighbour. The perfect place to have a real quiet and relaxed holiday alone or with friends.

I can highly recommend this location!

  • We loved our stay in the cottage! Sabina's assistant met us and provided us with information about the cottage, tips on where to go, shop and swim in the area - and even invited us to a wine-tasting that evening.

The cottage is very secluded and includes 3 outdoor sitting areas as well as two tree-platforms with a perfect view of the entire area. We had a lovely candlelight dinner up there.

It's worth noting that it gets very warm in the area during the summer, but if you stick to the recommendation in the cottage manual and keep the blinds closed during the day the cottage stays nice and cool, probably due to the massive old stone walls. There's a large lawn area for games and the sheltered barbecue area was very handy as well.

There's plenty to do in the area and the lovely beaches near Orbetello are only about a 15-20 minute drive away.

The cottage is exactly the type of place we joined Airbnb hoping to find, highly recommended!
