The Space

Welcome to Queenstown!

Come share my little place by the lake in one of the most beautiful alpine skiing resorts in the world. Female guest preferred.

You will wake in the morning to the bellbirds and tuis with their beautiful song.

Your bedroom looks across the lake to the town which is just a 15 minute drive, bus ride, or even water taxi. In the morning the transport is not frequent after 9am but I am happy to drive you. It is not a problem.

It is located on the sunny side of the lake. There are walkways around the lake with gorgeous scenery and serenity.

(website hidden) Queenstown to see the many attractions and adventures to be had for all seasons. Wifi is available.

I am a mature working woman (mature in age only), peaceful and easy to get on with.

I look forward to talking to you to discuss your amazing holiday.

Interaction with Guests

I love to get to talk to the guests and offer any advice on travel and dining experiences. I work part time so I am often out through the day or evenings so you have the place to yourself.

The Neighborhood

The location is very peaceful and quiet, on the sunny side of the lake with gorgeous views of the lake and over to the gondola and mountains. There is a large garden very private and sundeck with table and chairs to relax. The walking track around the lake is just a few doors away. It is a very safe and friendly location.

Getting around

Bus transport to town is available early morning till 8:50 then again 11:50 then every few hours until 5.50. The water taxis which are so much fun run from 12.30pm from here every 2 hours on return trips and the last is 10pm from town. I am able to assist if there is a need outside of these hours as I work in town. The airport is very close only a 5 minute drive and the buses run regularly to Frankton Hub where you can change to a Kelvin Heights bus or go into town.

  • what can I say? It´s just perfect staying with adi! you see her and her house and you know this is the right place for a relaxing and wonderful stay. her house is in a stunning setting with extraordinary view (also from the bedroom!). it´s peaceful and quiet, just a place to recover. everything is very tastefully furnished and very clean, so you can relax immediately. I enjoyed the breakfast inkluding a heavenly coffee in the morning - that the room comes with a breakfast is just perfect! you will be fit to start into the day! adi is a wonderful person, one of those you don´t find everyday! If I come back to queenstown I will definitely stay with adi again.

  • I had a delightful time with Adi in Kelvin Heights, opposite Queenstown. Adi was a wonderful, generous and thoughtful host. She made me feel very welcome and was easy to talk to and fun to be around. Kelvin Heights faces QT on the lake and I would recommend having the use of a car. Public transport is available but infrequent in the mornings. There are stunning views from the walking track but the nearest cafes are a fair walk.

The bedroom was gorgeous and perfect for someone who is comfortable with sharing space with their host. Adi was very supportive of me making myself at home and I felt very at ease with her :)

    Response from Adi:

In response to the use of a car. As a lot of my guests are from overseas and not keen to hire a car and drive on the other side of the road - where necessary if public transport is not available when they want it, I offer to drive the guest to the main bus depot, to the airport or take them to town so it has not been a problem. Queenstown is a very small town so it is not cost effective to run a frequent bus service to the outer areas, however there is also the option of the water taxis which run in the afternoons and evenings. Nothing is a problem here in the South!

  • Adi was a perfect host. She was ok with my arrival time and even offered to pick me up from the bus station which was a godsend. Her home is well set out with lots of information available and the bed is super comfortable with a beautiful view to wake up too. I also had a good time chatting to her. She is a very good, warm person who will do her best to make sure you enjoy your time in Queenstown.

  • Absolutely a wonderful place to stay!! Beautiful, cozy place that has a wonderful walk track along the water. Love the view overlooking Queenstown and could have sat on the patio for hours with that view. Adi was such a pleasure to stay with that I felt like I was visiting a friend! Don't hesitate when you need a relaxing place to stay, you've found it here!

  • I enjoyed a great view of the sunrise over Lake Wakatipu from the window of the large bedroom in this tiny flat. Just being a few minutes walk down to the lakeside walking track is an added bonus. Adi's friendly and knows a lot about local art.

  • Adi was a lovely host and her home well presented and very comfortable .Lots of goodies offered for breakfast and snacks. The bed was very comfortable and the room has a great view of Lake Wakatipu and the hills of Queenstown. While her home is some distance from downtown Q'town , Adi helps with getting you to bus stations and the water taxi which goes across the bay to Q'town Harbour.
This is a good choice for someone looking for a home away from home in a lovely homey atmosphere. You can't go wrong!

  • Adi was a great host with a beautiful apartment in the lakefront. She went out of her way to make me comfortable, gave me lifts and cooked me a splendid meal. She's a gem.

  • Thanks Adi for providing warmth and hospitality during my stay with you. Although I was up and about town most of the time, I was looking forward to return to your place to relax and unwind. Great country! Great people! Cheers

New Zealand is a great place to live and I have had the the opportunity to grow up in the far north by the sea and enjoyed swimming, fishing, sailing and the best of food. For most of my life I lived in Auckland which is the largest city in NZ and my career was in office management. Later in life I enjoyed being involved with classic yachts and had many happy times with great people. I am a lover of the arts - paint a little, work in an art gallery, adore most types of music (from classical to reggae,) movies and reading. My family are all foodies and are good cooks. I am a devoted grandmother and mother and my family bring me heaps of pleasure and fun. I have travelled a lot throughout NZ and the rest of the world and hope to do more - Italy being my favourite destination. The architecture inspires me to paint. I am even confident to travel alone if necessary. I moved to Queenstown in 2010 and think it has to be the best place in the world. There is such a buzz about Queenstown with so many adventures to be had, the scenery is breathtaking, and everyone is so happy! It is easy to be at peace with the world in such a special place - come join us.
