Although our hosts spoke very little English, they were very welcoming to me and my family. The place was clean, the kitchen was fully equipped, and there was a safe parking area with someone watching the property 24hrs. Nice pool and nice roof top. A few I'm away from the beach, restaurants and shopping. We had a great stay there and we would go back! It is a bit hard to find, but you can call them and they will guide you there
I really enjoyed my stay at Vista Perfecta II. I was there for a month. The apartment itself is a bit like a loft—the only rooms that have walls are the bathrooms, so if you're going to be here with a group of people, make sure you like them! When somebody wakes up in the morning, everybody else will know. The kitchen is fairly well equipped, though you may want to bring your own chef's knife if you are very passionate about your knives.
The poolside area is wonderful, and ended up being where I spent most of my time when I was at the condo. The terraces were beautiful, but in the heat of the sun they were hard to use after about 8AM and before 4PM (especially the rooftop terrace).
The closest grocery store is the Super Mega, and it's a ~15 minute walk from the condo. Five more minutes of walking get you to the Luperon and the Auto Mercado, and another 10 (30 minutes total) get you to the beach. You'll be walking alongside the main road, which can be a bit nerve-wracking as the passing cars don't seem to be too fussed with giving pedestrians a wide berth. I recommend bringing a backpack for carrying groceries, especially if you'd rather walk than take a cab. I found cabs to vary widely in price and often felt taken advantage of by the local cabbies.
The condo is quiet and secluded, a couple hundred meters down a dusty road lined with homes and little farm-like areas. As a solo woman I generally did not go out after dark as this part of the walk was a bit unnerving once the sun went down. I never felt unsafe, it just didn't seem like a good idea. I did walk back from downtown after dark several times with friends and never felt at risk.
The other people staying at the condo were lovely and friendly. When I was there it was very much a group of long stay-ers, many of whom were staying for two months or more. Dave & Marilyn live there full time, and are very friendly and an excellent source of information about the town and area.
If you're going to have more than two people stay, be sure to ask Romel for an extra mattress. I was under the impression that the sofa downstairs was the second bed, and it is not a good sleeping surface.
The on-site laundry is wonderful to have and complimentary (you'll just need detergent).
Thanks for a wonderful, sunny month!
Vista perfecta II was a very nice place. Clean, bright, airy with a great balcony and roof top sitting area. It was quite affordable compared to places closer to the beach. There was a friendly guard who was able to answer your questions. The host, Romel, picked us up from the airport for a fee of $50 and stopped to treat us to some coconut water a long the way. The complex had a mix of permanent residents and travellers. We stayed for a month with our two young kids. Other young families also checked in while we were there. This place is located down a dirt road which is very dusty in the dry season. The walk to town and the beach is about 30 mins, however you have to walk down the side of the road. Taxi was only $3/way. There are shops, restaurants, grocery stores along the road to the beach. We enjoyed our stay.
