I would love to share my large comfortable home with travelers.I have recently returned from 5 months in South America where i was reminded of the importance of finding friendly hosts with local knowledge and somewhere to relax and get a good sleep.
Spacious, light filled home, just a 5 minute walk away from gorgeous Waihi Beach. Only 2 hours drive from Auckland International Airport, 1 and a half hours drive from Hamilton and 45 minutes drive to Tauranga and Mount Maunganui. Two large,. immaculately clean and private rooms with queen size beds and one room with two single beds, a full bathroom with 2 separate WC.s , plus a private lounge area available.
A delicious breakfast of homemade granola, fruit and sourdough toast, with homemade jam is included, and can be served either on the deck or in the dining room.
Wireless internet is available throughout the house, and use of the washing machine is available.
The house is on a quiet street with a small village less than a 5 minute walk away where you will find a grocery store, shops, cafés, post office, etc.
There are two buses a day from Auckland to Tauranga that come through Waihi Beach. Or if you have a car, there is plenty of off street parking.
I am an expert on local outdoor activities and can suggest nearby fantastic walks/hikes in Karangahake Gorge, the nearby Kaimai Forest Park, and the Hauraki Cycle Trail. I have also traveled extensively throughout New Zealand and am happy to advise you about many special and less known places.
As an avid traveler, I understand what can make a trip extra special - a warm welcome, advice when needed, clean and comfortable rooms, and privacy.
I look forward to welcoming you to my home and beautiful Waihi Beach which is situated at the base of the Coromandel Peninsula and 45 minutes drive from Tauranga and Mount Maunganui.
Guests have the use of upstairs lounge and decks, the downstairs decks and garden as well as the dining room for breakfast.
Guests can make a cup of tea or coffee and there is a separate refrigerator and freezer for guest use.
Interaction with Guests
I love meeting new people and enjoy helping my guests to have a great experience in this area as well as other parts of New Zealand. I can interact with my guests as much as they wish.
A quiet street at a beautiful beach side town on the east coast of Western Bay of Plenty.
There are two buses a day from Auckland to Tauranga that come through Waihi Beach. Bikes and scooters can be hired locally. I may be able to assist with getting guests to and from walking and cycling tracks.

I expect my guests to respect my home as they would their own.
No smoking on the property.
Jane was an excellent host and went out of her way to provide guidance and suggestions that were suitable to the specific requirements of each of the guests staying with her. She made you feel very welcome and even provided a great breakfast including making the muesli, providing fruit, daily papers etc. It was like a home away from home. The location is ideal with an amazing beach only a few blocks away and many great eateries near by. the district has a lot of interesting places to visit and it was a great base for a holiday. I will definitely stay there if I ever get back to this area in the future.
We loved staying at Jane's beautiful house. It was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Bedding was first rate, and the situation of the house was perfect - only a five minute walk to a lovely beach.
Jane made us a wonderful breakfast, and we fell asleep to the enchanting smell of rhubarb pie baking. (She left one for us to devour, and it was delicious.)
We were thinking of our return, before even a day had passed.
Highly recommended, and we staying at 10 different airbnb houses during this trip through NZ, so we had lots of comparisons.
My friend and I stayed in Wahi Beach at Jane's place for one night during a bicycling trip.
Jane was an outstanding host. The rooms and the house were clean and comfortable. The town and the beach are a short walk from her house.
Jane went out of her way to make our short stay enjoyable. She is very knowledgable about this area in New Zealand and about the country as a whole. She gave us all kinds of information that we could only get from a local resident.
She was concerned about our cycling plan for the next day so she even gave us a lift part of the way through a particularly treacherous section of the highway towards Tauranga. Not only that but along the way she stopped and showed us a stunning beach and a beautiful Maori lookout point overlooking the whole town.
Needless to say, I would absolutely recommend a stay with Jane if you plan on visiting Waihi Beach! Oh and thanks for the home baked cookies in our cycling bags!!
Jane is a great host and the room was very comfortable. There was another couple staying but there is lots of space.
Fantastic little beach side town off the main hwy. Jane is a great host and has a great little sheltered backyard to sit in and enjoy the sunshine if its a bit windy at the beach. Very nice beach town which we will return to for further exploring. Jane's home is very roomy and the beds are great! Will recommend a stay at Jane's home.
We enjoyed our stay with Jane. she is a very welcoming and thoughtful host. We felt relaxed and comfortable. House is large so plenty of room to spread about. Located within walking distance to shops and cafes and the beach.
An excellent host and provided good information on local activities and dining. Accommodation was fresh and clean . A very pleasant and relaxing stay.

I love the outdoors and making the most of the beautiful country I live in. Travel to meet people of different cultures and discovering their customs and food excites me but when at home I enjoy pottering in my garden, cooking fresh produce or swimming in the sea.
I love music, reading and hiking and am never happier than when in the outdoors in nature.
If you stay in my home you will be made welcome, provided with as much local information as you require and you will be able to relax or be pointed in the direction of the next adventure if you so wish.
