The Space

Available June 14 and following - due to an unexpected change! STAYS COOL ALL SUMMER!! This is a shared private residence in a normal neighborhood - not a Commercial BnB...so no nightly stays. it is casual and comfortable. Fussy people best stay elsewhere, lol. It is true that the house is being sold. Consequently Guests are expected to be neat - do not leave Dishes out on counters, or personal things strewn about. Other will walk thru all areas any daylight afternoon after knocking. This IS your Notice that this could happen any reasonable daylight hour, from this day on: June 16, 2014.

Thanks for your patience while a new Washing machine is being found...(please overlook the awaiting laundry) - OK to do hand wash in the basement utility double sink, and either use outdoor hanging rack, line or the Dryer.

Weekly or Monthly stays only...This is a quiet residential area - NOT a commercial BnB. House could be sold, with 30-45 days notice, summer 2014. A Broker Photo session will happen in mid-June TUESDAY 10 AM - and also a Broker OPEN HOUSE - THURSDAY - so rooms need to be kept neat during your stay. Broker Tours will be needed daylight afternoons...they won't touch your things...except possibly ONE day for the Photo staging. Ask for a storage options if needed please. Most Guests are gone then - and I will try to reach you - and NO ONE will enter a room with a closed door without Knocking/requesting permission. TY.

You may INQUIRE even if the Calender does not appear open. Changes often happen fast. Thank You.

* PEACEFUL residential area near transit.
* Great home base for an active life working or playing in the city or day trips.
* It is not a Hotel or Hostel...no Maids - so please be responsible for your own mess.
Pleasant carpeted space, with 450 sq feet of privacy with private W/C and large painted concrete shower, with lighted fan. dimmer lights, table, chairs, footstool and lamps. Loads of new windows and fresh paint...including a large new south-facing egress window,

*Please do not stay at the house all day...Portland is wonderful all seasons! Plan your outings, get out early in the day - and ENJOY it all! Bus 22 begins running about 5:50 AM - 87 is near, weekdays. Crosstown 71 just a few blks North. $5 for all lines, all day! All carry Bikes.
* YES a BUS also goes to the Oregon Coast $19 each way!. Thank You.

The Mini Suite or upstairs Master space may come open if this is booked , so ask, and I will try to get you the best available space to match your needs, as expressed. TY - Julie M.

This Calendar is for a large basement Great Room/Bedroom with private Shower; and a W/C with tile floor, sink, NEW toilet (March 2012), and mirror. All windows in the room have been updated, most in 2011. They include a HUGE Egress window, facing south, and provide decent natural light, for a basement level space.

Furnishings include: a dining/work Table, chairs; end-table, footstool with sofa, Oriental Privacy Screen, ceramic space heater, table lamp, and overhead lighting, which you can control. Tall wicker storage shelves available, and a small Guest bed, too. Please use the Dimmer switch for ambiance and energy saving....and use the lighted exhaust fan every time when using the basement shower. The area has new dry-wall, shelving, and a project room with storage.. Please remove shoes before entering to reduce maintenance on the carpet...and use a large plate or tray if transporting liquids or food, to minimize spills. TY

The basement area has separate nooks for the W/C (Toilet and sink) - and also a Shower and dressing area, with lighted exhaust fan. When using the shower ALWAYS use the lighted exhaust-fan please. Lock windows, and leave fan, heater, any electric blanket, and lights OFF when you leave the space. Thanks!

You have a private kitchen sink and mini appliances in the basement utility area. Guest fridge is now SHARED and in the main Kitchen on the EAST Wall (the other will be removed sometime soon - please don't open the one w Double doors) Fine to use the large kitchen also - and put scraped and lightly rinsed dishes in the main floor dishwasher. It's nice and quiet, and can be crammed full before use. Just be sure rotor arm spins freely.

ALL food scraps go in compost bins. (website hidden)

TY for being eco-friendly!

Spaces info:

1) Master bedroom with 2 walk-in closets. Carpeted, Windows face a pleasant tree canopy for shade, on south side. Watch squirrels chase each other. Sleeping rooms are cool, quiet and spacious. All 3 Guest rooms are large enough for use as an office. A cushy rocking chair is there.

Sleeping rooms tend to be cool in winter, which is HEALTHIER than over-dry air. A big stack of quilts, and a cozy electric blanket is here for your comfort, and a silent oil-Space Heater, does the job. Use the LOW setting and Turn off if leaving the room. please, and always OFF when using another power tool like vacuum or microwave on the same circuit. TY

2) Large Carpeted Basement room with KING size mattress; and en-suite W/C and Shower. - Pix of it show lavender walls, a table, lamps, private bath, oriental screen, big window with burgundy curtains, sand-color carpet with antique oriental rug, old fashioned easy chair, humble wood-frame sofa.

$800 month for a couple, $650 less for 1 person. Yes, the Large Basement has a Private En Suite Bath. Weekly to Monthly is the Basis - since this is a residential neighborhood. The system may dsiplay a daily rate -- which I can adjust for Weekly or Monthly Guest Offers. Just ask...with your intended dates. I do NOT rent rooms by the night, due to Zoning limitations. Either side can initiate an ALTERATION if plans change. Thank You.

3) The 2-rm Mini-Suite, with Full-size Bed, is upstairs. It has a separate page and Calendar, attached to my profile. The Mini Suite is available at a lower rate. (Photos of it are also shown here)

All Guests have access to Kitchen and bath, Dining and Living room, as common areas - on the Main floor, Porch and large yard, with Free Parking, and reliable, fast Shuttle to 3 Metro Light Rail lines, right outside. There is a project room in the basement near the utility Kitchenette, if you want to spread out papers or hobby materials. An incline treadmill is available if you want to use it.

Site/Access: on City Bus #22. 71 Crosstown is at Prescott, 87 runs along 102nd on weekdays from the GATEWAY shopping and Transit area.. 12/Sandy Street - all are close. Tell the Driver you want off at SHAVER Street. VERY short walk, east, to the house.

Secure Bike and Scooter storage - in the garage, and at MANY Transit centers..The Garage has electric for projects; and you can plug in your Electric vehicle at the covered carport. 1 NEV there now. My pal Solar Cliff, a sweet man over 55 years old, who usually wears a cap and plaid shirt, may come by to tinker with it...that's OK.

WI FI, Laundry, large Kitchen, Porch, Yard with furniture, and big BBQ.
The Yard is large with lots of shade, and a varied outdoor seating and tables. My Pal Darrel who looks like a tall SANTA, may come by to help with Wood for the fire or to work in the yard or garage. That's Ok, too.

There is TENT SPACE available in the Yard as seasons permit;
and the carpeted basement Great Room could accommodate Sleeping bags.
A cot or small tent is available, if desired during appropriate weather. Bikes, Scooters or Motorcycles can be locked in the Garage...a $10 Key Deposit for house or Garage is part of Security Fee - so be sure to leave Keys when you leave.

Quiet area, and near 2 Freeways, the airport and major Public Transit Connections.

1 week or longer stays preferred, weekly rate is per person, and includes Utilities and Internet. You may stay fewer nights, for the Minimum 1 week price. Over 21 only, Please. Host is a Home-Brewer - and was an Elite Yelp Reviewer the past few years...pdxJules.

Free Parking. Tables and chairs in the yard may be moved, a small Tent, or a Cot is available if you prefer to sleep outdoors.

NO CATS please. Guests present are often allergic.
There is a large yard for play, reading, and relaxation,
and it is a great neighborhood for taking walks.

Saturday - Farmers Market is on 122, Spring to end October. There is another in Hollywood near MAX, and several downtown Portland, and along MAX at Orenco on the West Side.

Sandy Blvd: restaurants, german Delis, stores, Bars, a great Thrift Shop, COFFEE, a fairly easy walk, North. (Breakfast items - oatmeal, flour and baking soda, Teas - are here for you - but please make your own and leave the kitchen as clean as you can for others. Best to use the Dining Room for eating, so others can feel free to use the Kitchen after you. Please use coasters or a cloth napkin under drinks, and do NOT leave standing water or wet items on a wood table or chair. It stains and ruins finishes. TY!

The Gateway Shopping and Transit District : Groceries, electronics, clothing stores, Restaurants, ect. Only 5 min to Gateway/MAX - #22 bus. (20 minute walk) I provide Shopping bags, and Roller Cart, if you shop for a longer stay. MALL 205 is further S on 102nd. It has nearly everything. Cloth paper and plastic shopping Bags are provided in the main kitchen, near the sink.

RECAP for the space:

Large room Rate as a Couple for a MONTH - with project space and private space, and WiFi, and Utilities included. The shared room rate is $800 for the Basement. Week-to-Week or 1 month basis. (Monthly Rate shown here is Basement is for one Person. Upper Suite and Master are a bit less, using Main Floor bath)

The large, cool basement space has a Private W/C and good-size but modest shower. It also has a new carpet, drywall, paint, lighting, and NEW windows that open, with screens!

The nearby Utility area has Washer/Dryer, Kitchen Sink, Guest Refrigerator, Ironing Board, and small Kitchen appliances. There is a large desk in the art studio/cool fermentation room for your projects. (Please ignore the Brews stored there)

All Guests may use the large Kitchen and Full bath on the main, as long as you clean up after yourselves. Towels, soap, shampoo are provided. Extra Razors and toothpaste are here in case you forget yours. Feel free to read books or magazines you see here.

A selection of Tazo Tea is here. Loads of free Multi-grain FLOUR (you sift); Oatmeal, and Baking Soda are here, if you want to make Pancakes, breads, cookies, Oatmeal, or muffins. Microwave, an Espresso Maker, Juicer, Rice Steamer, Blender, ect are also in the Main Kitchen, as are herbs, spices and condiments. Mi Casa es Su Casa!

In the Rented spaces, you control your own heat with silent, oil-filled electric radiators, set to LOW please, and OFF when you leave for an hour or more. There is a side door for those who prefer that for entry. OK to return late after Clubs, just please be as quiet as possible, walking softly, since others may be sleeping. TY!

SAFETY: a Fire extinguisher and Smoke Alarms are on each level. Please do NOT smoke anything, burn incense or Candles in sleeping areas. (LED Candles are available to borrow for ambiance)

To use Fireplace, get wood or a compressed log (they last 3 hrs and do not need any kindling) from Parkrose Hardware on Sandy, or help with the harvest from the back yard. Be CERTAIN the Damper is open before lighting, and close the metal screen EVERY time you leave the room, for safety.

If you prefer to get a Presto Log or a bundle of dry, split logs (from Gateway Fred Meyer or Winco), there is already plenty of Kindling and newspaper here for starting fires (to the right of the Fireplace, and more Kindling under the Carport. if you get dry logs for a traditional fire, just help break up some branches, and carry them in. 5 Gal Buckets with handles are there to protect your clothing. If you use the Kindling I leave in or by the fire-place, please refill the containers. If you stay longer than a week, consider helping to sweep, mow, or do other light housework to help keep the shared home decent. TY Please relax and Enjoy!

Guest Access

Common areas are most of the Main level (except the room with white doors), main floor Bathroom, the big porch and yard. Utility and Bonus room are OK to use down-stairs, also...just kindly walk quietly on the stairs and close doors gently as others may need to sleep or study.

Interaction with Guests

Please text or call with any questions or needs. I'd like to have a chance to change things that don't seem ready or in order...and in some cases can offer you a different room. One person said the upper Master is too dark for her. There are light and bright rooms here also...many find darker better for sleeping...and schedules vary.

The Neighborhood

Parkrose is a pleasant, quiet area with lots of mature trees. Great for dog-walking and near major Bikeways - and Freeway on/off ramps! Just a Mile to 2 transit stations.

Getting around

See the (website hidden) - Transit Planner tool. More details in other Listings.

Other Things to Note

The Guest Fridge is now on the EAST WALL of the main floor kitchen. Do not open the other, with double doors. It will be removed soon,as will unused stereo and dining cabinet, ect. If you are willing to help, that would be awesome.

  • Pros:
    -Cheap
    - Julie is quick to respond if you inquire
    - decent wifi
    - close to interstate and some decent grocery stores
    -mostly safe neighborhood
    -long term housemates are alright
    Cons:
-no garbage service, or recycling (told to put it in the garage??)
-Julie isn't around more than to mow the lawn and clean up after former guests
-lots of bugs , as in ants and moths
    - basement is cold, bathroom is just a small cubby with a curtain, shower head too low for most people ( I'm 5' 6")
-things break and don't get fixed, half the burners on the stove are bad
-house is full of clutter , feels kinda abandoned

Over all, the place is fine for people with low overheard and who aren't too picky.

  • I had just moved to Portland and Julie's place was very convenient to get settled. The room was comfortable, the privacy was greatly appreciated when overcoming jetlag, and Julie was extremely helpful with tips and information about Portland. I would definitely recommend her place to anyone looking to move to this fine city.

    October 2013
  • Julie was a good host. She was very welcoming when she showed me around the place. I was working a lot during my stay so I didn't interact with Julie much but, the house was good and I had everything I needed during my stay.

    June 2013
  • I had a great month long stay. I was really busy and only used the place to sleep for the most part. It was perfect for me because I had my own entrance into the basement. There was also my own personal bathroom and shower. Overall, I had a great stay and Julie was very accomodating.

  • HOME!! CANDIDLY SPEAKING JULIE IS ONE OF THE MOST REMARKABLE PEOPLE THAT I HAVE EVER MET. SHE'S COMPLETELY WELCOMING, UNDERSTANDING, PLEASANT, AND COMPASSIONATE. MY STAY WAS BEYOND TIMELY AND EXTREMELY RELAXING. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A WONDERFULLY COMFORTABLE SPACE TO RESTYYOUR HEAD FOR A FEW DAYS OR LONGER IN PORTLAND, HER HOUSE IS CERTAINLY IT. I'M VERY THANFUL FOR SUCH A TREMENDOUS EXPERIENCE. JULIE'S HOME IS INCREDIBLY DELIGHTFUL AND A MUST STAY. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

    October 2012
  • Great host! I would recommend staying with Julie, she was very helpful in learning the city and had great recommendations. She even was kind enough to invite me to a potluck, what a great host!

    September 2012
  • The bus stop was literally a few feet from the door to the house and was a fantastic way to explore Portland- Using the marvelous Trimet Systems. Didn't catch much of Julie, but she seemed nice. =] The room was pretty cold, even with the hot weather outside, but then again, it's a basement. One of the few issues encountered: You heard everything the minute anyone woke up, which made sleeping in difficult (even with us 7am-er's). A few other minor things, but it was a fantastic spot to see the city from as all we really needed as a shower and a bed.

    August 2012
  • Julie has her own busy social schedule, but was accessible and helpful when I needed to get settled in. To say she is a local-knowledge guru is an understatement. I suggest you start a conversation with her to learn something new! Julie was a very pleasant host.

    August 2012
  • Julie's basement is the perfect place for budget-minded travelers. It's spacious, has everything one needs, and extremely convenient to public transit. And Julie herself is a very gracious and accommodating host. Just an excellent stay.

    June 2012
  • Our stay was reasonably nice. The room was quite spacious, more like a studio. There's a table to eat at, a bathroom and shower with some toiletries to accommodate guests. Julie was a very sweet host and overall the stay was pleasant and peaceful.

Work
I'll be present a 1-3 afternoons a week, and am available by text, phone, (website hidden) and email. Prefer that Guests respect my Privacy...and not spend ALL your daytime at the house, please. I go out most evenings - you may be invited along!
About
Due to a Change - the upstairs Master is available immediately til end of June - but NO SMOKERS or Pets, please. The room is dark and peaceful - it is a sleeping room. The house IS now on the real estate market...so Sunday afternoon and possibly other daylight hours - Brokers will need access to each room for a walk thru or inspection.. My Broker jesse and I will try to reach each person at least 2 hours in advance. Sorry for any inconvenience. Several Buyers say they are working on Financing details. Seems many are in transition) Thanks for being flexible and patient. We can all support each other like decent humans. The utilities room does have a double sink with sprayer, which can be used for Hand washing - a recently replaced Washer, and Dryer. A Clothes line and Rack are outside the side door for SOLAR drying. The rack is great - just move it to a sunny area, and a whole load of laundry dries fast! 30 days minimum notice will be given if I accept an Offer on the house. Unsure if new Owners will offer rooms, sorry. Most say the basement will be available for Guests. I don't know yet if I will own another place for a few years yet either. Sigh...MAYBE tho! Will add rooms to this service as soon as I can. Thank You. A low-flow shower-head that was un-popular (last Spring) in the main floor shower was replaced long ago...so come get wet! The NEW shower-head is rather lively. It has a simple switch for escape, I mean...for water and energy conservation. Just flip the switch to slow the flow to a trickle for soaping up, then switch it back to an energizing strong flow to rinse, without losing your water temperature adjustment. Neato. Please try to keep floors dry...Ok to use a hand towel for that and put a CLEAN new towel in it's place from the UPPER cabinet. TY The Stove will be repaired, or replaced, as soon as the repair guy can come.,,some connections are getting loose on burners. Except for Glass, ALL PLASTIC, TIN and PAPER go into paper bags, and are collected in the garage to deliver to a nearby Depot at least quarterly. Next garbage pick-up is June 3, at the street-side near the carport. ( A grey 36 gal container goes out the nite before) Thanks for being responsible for the planet ~ and for helping to reduce the waste stream. DO ask, in advance, if additional storage is needed in some rooms - I have no way of knowing if you need more than the usual roller bag and duffle, otherwise. Also allow time for a tour and chat the first day in case any changes are needed for your comfort. Thank you! REMINDER: Every Guest needs to clean after themselves. Kindly put your NAME or Initials on your food labels, so I know what goes after you move on. ..and don't eat anyone else's food. When done, scrape ALL food scraps into the compost bucket, and put rinsed dishes in the Dishwasher, for sanitizing. So simple and fast to do! THANX! No Maid is present, nor mom around to watch your habits, lol. The Host does, or arranges for, routine cleaning...but if you use any area or surface - kindly leave it clean for others. Household towels and sheets can go in the laundry drop, main floor bath cabinet to the laundry area below. Portland is an urban rain-forest and it is very alive and healthy eco-system...and slast spring and summer was warmer and more humid than any in memory. SO: Boric acid is available and present, for window areas and corners. If you see ANY ants or other crawly critters indoors - kindly take the initiative to deal with it - as I can't enter your personal, area and don't know what you see unless you communicate. The Boric acid dusting is easy to do, and No poison need be sprayed in the house. Thank You for being a reasonable adult to take responsibility for the shared environment. Towels and other bath Items you may need are in the upper Cabinet. Space can easily be made for your Kitchen items in the upper left kitchen cabinet near the stove. Please mark your name on items you store in the fridge or cabinets, so i know what to clear out after you depart. MUCH appreciated! It's very peaceful here, and summer has arrived, though in our urban rain forest we still can have cool mornings and evenings, so bring warm clothing, or dress in layers. The front, side and back yards are shady, with sunny areas, and VERY pleasant surroundings - like having your own PARK in the city. Come enjoy it! Be competitive in your offer if you want a room in Portland now - AND READ CANCELATION POLICIES. IF YOU ARE PICKY..COME IN ADVANCE TO LOOK IF YOU CAN. Many inquiries may be in the works, and Reservations can be final any hour. RESERVE FROM YOUR OWN ACCOUNT, please - First to confirm gets a space. I do my best do check in with current and returning Guests and prior inquiries, before accepting new Reservation requests, if the system allows it. PLEASE help keep the kitchen and other common areas tidy, as I may not be there every day to pick up after you, and recovery from car accident injuries prevents strenuous work. Two fridges are now in the main kitchen. The EAST wall fridge in the main kitchen is for Guests. OK to bring a Dorm fridge if you want. ((website hidden) is a great source..or i hv an old one you can scrub and use.) Kindly include first and last names of each person who would be staying before arrival - and describe your vehicles or bikes that may be present so I know who to contact if needed. There is plenty of free parking, and it is a quiet street. Bikes can be locked in the garage. Rooms may appear booked - but changes happen. Please Inquire. Let's try to get all your questions answered before confirming a Booking. Lot of info already here...including bus info. 3 Buses come within 3 blocks of the house - linking to the Light Rail/Bus Malls and 24 hr Grocery Shopping! Plan $5 per day for transit - that will take you anywhere ALL DAY on any system in the metro area. Thank You. Jules is a progressive public policy advocate - and also an AirBnB traveler. Brewer and Beer Judge; semi-retired after over 25 years in Human Services, and over 10 years Consulting, and helping change the law to promote sustainable industries. Please be patient - I am recovering from a broken foot - AND a recent CAR ACCIDENT - so I am re-gaining strength and working to tackle some deferred projects... I was told to do very little housework or yard-work for this year - due to brain, neck and other soft-tissue injuries. A friend DARRELL - who looks like SANTA may present sometimes to help in the yard and garage. He has permission to shower and do laundry and can use any room when one is open. He's a lot of fun, if you like spirited conversation with humor...and is also a Craft ALE / Festival and State Parks expert. EVERYONE: please pitch in to help keep the place neat. Kindly do NOT leave wet things on wood furniture, as that ruins the finish (and this system has not reimbursed for any damages to furnishings so far...they will ask you to pay for damages) Thanks. Please inquire early for all spaces, then click to Reserve when you are sure of details. Spaces can go fast...but changes do happen. Cancellation Policies on this service DO APPLY, please read them and check your Bus Schedule if needed, before finalizing your plan. Be realistic, and respectful; it's not a formal BnB...just a comfy lived-in house... Craftsman-style Bungalow welcoming weekly and monthly Guests. No loud night life here - just a quiet neighborhood...with private sleeping rooms at a rate less than Hostels charge. No front Desk Staff...no Maids or Mothers either, lol. Everyone please pitch in. If you use it, clean it! Mops and Brooms are in the main Kitchen and utility areas. A Vacuum is in the basement utility area. Grocery shopping bags are here, and get you a discount for use. ** Please inquire, with your dates, and note any special needs or concerns. It helps to know your likely schedule...so everyone can get peace and privacy. TY! ** - Large BASEMENT space with en Suite bath - - Master BR - - Mini-Suite - Main Floor Bedroom with built-ins and garden window - used by Owner now. Make an offer early, if you need it - so help can be hired to clear it out for you. - Small Upper Room - available, but needs a bit of paint on a chimney and ceiling around it. Cheapest place in PDX, perhaps, for short stays mainly Spring-Fall. TIP: If you can get something Private for $30/night downtown, or in Alberta or Hawthorne, ect TAKE IT - especially if you like to walk to food and activities in those zones to save Bus Fare, (Those are noisy areas, however - can you sleep thru car alarms, party and traffic noise?) Sandy, Gateway and 122 are nearby shopping/food districts here, live music at 108th/Sandy..a fun bike ride away. House RULES ECO-Friendly household - please CONSERVE energy, Close and lock doors and windows then you are leaving for the day. READ what we RECYCLE at the CURB in Portland...ALMOST everything! Separate LIKE things in paper bags. They go to the garage 1-2x a week then to a sorting station. NO food scraps, bottles, clean paper, or tin, in the trash, please. NOR most plastics - and glass!! These are environmentally managed in Oregon. RECYCLE! Put in the Compost pail ALL peelings, shells, food scraps. Bones too. If you are a Longer-term Guest, please help take the Compost Pail to the Bin 1x a week. (West of Kn) NO CATS. No exceptions --> due to allergies, and Friends with Asthma. Host has a Diabilitiy and this IS her income. So - If you cancel a reservation on this system ...the CANCELLATION POLICY APPLIES. use the ALTER process if you need a shorter stay...and explain the issue. Perhaps it can be resolved. Please read everything here. If you can afford a Hotel, and require MAID SERVICE, by all means, go to a Hotel, or offer a higher rate - since Julie has a concussion and neck and upper back injuries now...shortly after getting off Crutches. catching up on projects...and will sell house since she can't keep up on vigorous garden plan anymore. It is often cool at night in Oregon, including Spring. and some summer nights. Pack LONG sleeves - warm socks, gloves, a hat...warm clothing. Central gas heat November- March...but this is a Brewers house, and cool Temps are also preferred for healthier air. Heat will NOT be set here to the 70's. (If you want that, please stay elsewhere) Bring sweaters, warm jammies, long-johns, warm robe and slippers if coming fall-Spring. Jules has 4 electric blankets available, very nice for initial bed-warming - but turn off ASAP after bed is comfy --> for conservation and to avoid exposure to EMFs. Please turn OFF Radiant/other space heaters when you leave the room...and EVERY time before you use a microwave...they may be on the same circuit. DO NOT use indoor space heaters outdoors. (yes someone did that...) There is a pleasant INDOOR Fireplace, and Julie will help you get it going safely. OPEN DAMPER before lighting - ALWAYS - and leave it open the next FULL day. Close screen before leaving the room EVERY time - sparks can SUDDENLY fly across the room, even if no flame is visible. Please inquire first, with dates in your note. Thank you! Host receives Phone texts, email, and checks this site most days. Most evenings my Guests have a great house all to themselves. Bake, create art, turn up music, do laundry, read, just relax! Fix a healthy breakfast, but do not spend all day here please - for now, this is my home office. The mini-suite and basement are large enough to linger for a bit for reading, but do not stay all day running SPACE HEATERS. . Get out to enjoy the city, Oregon COAST, magnificent GARDENS, Columbia River GORGE and many nearby waterfalls, and more of the region! KYAK, SKI, go Skate-boarding, BIKE, take LONG Walks. Try all our Brew-Pub THEATERS! Food Pods Breweries and Happy Hour Food is GREAT in Portland, #1 in the USA. Frequent interruptions tend to wear out one's welcome, yes? Also please keep wood furnishings (and floors) clean and dry. If you borrow some of my beans, rice, flour, ect for cooking, that's probably fine, just leave me some, please. YUM!! Guest Cupboard and storage items are left of the Stove. . My Guests need to have courtesy, humor, common sense, and MUST be independent. My friends Roy and Dale can help in a pinch, and I am usually available quick - by SMS or phone. My house has plenty of on and off-street parking...and it is FINE to park across the street, to the west, also. OK to park in driveways in front of Garage and Carport. Neighbors are decent people, but the blue house to the North does not like Cars parked in front of their fence. TY! This peaceful Portland Craftsman is a corner property, near 2 major Freeways, Public Transit, the PDX Airport. #22 Bus comes to the house from GATEWAY Transit Center. Major shopping stores are there too! (just a 5 min short hop by bus) Another bus links us to TWO Transit Centers w/in 5 mins. The 87 runs along 102nd, just a couple blocks West of the property. See (website hidden) for Maps and Schedules... Transit Planner and real-time Transit Tracker tools. 5 spaces - have separate Calendars and varied photos of the property - so please look around, then inquire from the Room Listing of MOST interest to you, so the Calendar for THAT space will work. I have a Library of Travel Books, CDs, and language study materials you can borrow while here. A LOT of VHS Film and music CDs too. Classical and Rock Cassettes, Yes, lol. If interested in Purchasing, OR BEING A CO-OWNER at the Property, please ensure that you Qualify for Financing. (I found Properties at the Coast I'd like to buy...so now is the time to consider a change) LEASE-OPTION POSSIBLE for this property. Buyers could come any daylight hour...and will NOT enter any closed door without permission. Ok to request just 1 or more rooms, while you work to Qualify for Financing ~ and Save a Down-payment to Purchase! A large Down or Option Fee is required if you want Julie and her stuff gone full-time. Part-time / on-going housemate status is possible...as she wants to buy another Property...and is only Part-Time at the house now. Peace! Jules
