We stayed at Pakarina B&B for two nights for our visit to Machu Picchu. The place was correct; the room we had was new but still unfinished (room door missing a glass window and shower wall window missing a glass), beds were comfortable and hot shower was available. The breakfast is as simple as can be; coffee, bread, jam, concentrated juice. Our room faced Pachacutec street which can be busy and noisy. It did not prevent us from sleeping. The place is somewhat recommendable. If I go back to Aguas Calientes, I would probably try somewhere else.
The place is nice enough, though not exceptional. Standard guest house fare... though I will say the mattress was better quality than most.
My stay in Pakarina was great, the place is really nice, clean and very good located. Freddy was a great host. Highly recommended.
Freddy was a great host! The rooms were clean and comfortable with our own bathrooms. The locaton is great! only 5 mins walk to the hotsprings. Freddy was even did laundry service for us (at a small charge) and helped me make a local call to straighen out my flight time. I would definately stay here again!
I thought Freddy's place was great. After spending 2 near sleepless nights in WildRover Hostel in cuzco, Room 203 was the best thing to ever happen to me. Highly recommend.
The hostel is a short walk from the train station, one street back from the main street. Two days in Aguas Callientes is probably 1.5 too many, but the hostel for the price is solid. No complaints there.
Bad experience in Aguas Calientes.
Room without window. High humidity (we slept on our towel toilet because the sheets were wet and wrinkling). Much noise until 2am (difficult when the alarm to go to Macchu Picchu is 4:30).
The only positive point is the breakfast served at 5:00am.
Very poor value for money (which unfortunately seems to be general in Aguas Calientes). This is the price to pay to discover the wonderful site of Machu Picchu.
the room that freddy offers is part of his hostel named pakarine. it is anice hostel. our room had a very nice private bathroom providing hot water. unfortunately it was a little loud, but it seemed that all the hostels in aguas calientes are located near noisy streets and bars and we slept wonderful. internet did not work in our roomm. freddy confused the dates of our reservation. he quickly found a solution and payed us a room in another hostel with the same conditons. nevertheless, it was a little stressy to move between two locations with the whole luggage between two nights. breakfast is included and we liked it. there is
fresh bread, coffee, jam, butter, tea, sometimes fruit and you can ask for hot milk. we really recommend to spend both the night before snd the night after machu picchu in aguas calientes so to avoid stress, even though aguas calientes is very small and touristic.
ask for hot milk.
Very basic but comfortable lodging!
