About this listing
Check out all my listings! :-) Please note, I don't accept reservations more than 3 months in advance...
The Loft is a lovely & light-filled apartment in a waterfront rowhouse in Brooklyn's booming Greenpoint Historic District, on the riverfront just north of bustling Williamsburg. Walk to the Bedford "L" subway stop, or just a few blocks to the Greenpoint "G" stop. East River Ferry service (with multiple stops in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens) is 2 blocks from the house, on the India Street waterfront. Plenty of restaurants, bars, boutiques, cafes, galleries, banks, gyms, etc all within blocks.
800 completely open interior square feet; kitchen, dining area, living room, bedroom nook and private on-floor bathroom. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor of a building which houses an antiques store on the first floor (which has a lovely garden, of which you have a view down below while gazing out at the stellar Manhattan skyline, including a fantastic view of the Empire State and the Chrysler Building!).
Commercial & residential dead-end street, terminating at Transmitter Park on the East River. Full kitchen with gas stove, oven and full-size refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher and washer/dryer. WiFi access. There is no television in this house, because you have better things to do here in NYC! There is a Bose ipod/iphone dock. This sunny loft is furnished with a variety of antiques and modern accessories, and features gorgeous exposed beams and beautiful original wide-plank floors. (*Please note: fireplace is NOT functional!) There is a window A/C unit, and this is an airy apartment with a fantastic cross-current, right on the East River, and in the winter months you'll be toasty warm; this entire building was a loving & complete gut job, with all brand-new electric and plumbing. Please be aware that this street is both commercial & residential; while the noise level is normal for NYC, this is not a "silent" apartment. Closing the front windows at night helps considerably.
Bedroom is a Queen size bed, and sleeper sofa opens to a Double bed.
Regarding the floorplan: It is of course a fully private apartment, it's just an old townhouse layout (the building was built in 1870s) -- your bathroom door and front door are literally right next to each other on the 2nd floor landing, and at the other end of that corridor is the door to the 3rd floor apartment. I own this property with my best friend Alex (a total sweetie) and he lives on the 3rd floor; his apartment is completely self-contained, and you won't be sharing any portion of your space with him.
Privacy & comfort await!

Maya was a fantastic host. I am only sorry I didn't get to meet her. She was flexible and was able to accommodate me at the last minute. The apartment was fantastic; it had every needed amenity. It was clean and spacious. The location was incredible. The apartment is just next to the East River and there are beautiful views of Manhattan. Greenpoint has great cafes, bars and restaurants. I hope I get to stay again!
We loved staying at Maya's beautiful apartment in Greenpoint. It's spacious, clean and comfortable, and has a lovely atmosphere. Greenpoint is also a great neighbourhood and the apartment is located on a very cool street. Being so close to the water was a nice bonus. Maya was also very friendly and easy to communicate with. We'd love to stay here again.
Wonderful place to stay. Maya was great to work with and everything was exactly as advertised. Very clean, spacious place to stay, everything we needed within easy walking distance. Being in s mixed residential/commercial area, things outside get a bit noisy at night, with lots of local construction in the summer. But I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Fantastic stay! We loved every moment at Maya's place. Amazing location for those wanting to check out the quieter and more cultural side of New York, and a short subway ride to Manhattan. Beautifully furnished, stunning building and lovely locals; we'll be back...
We had an excellent stay at this Waterfront Loft. The apartment is just as described. It's very spacious, clean & comfortable. While we didn't cook, the kitchen is amply stocked with all one might need. Location is very convenient to good restaurants & the subway. We will definitely request another stay here when visiting our son! We didn't meet Maya, but she accommodated us by making other arrangements to get the apartment key.
It was a very nice place, close to everything. Bare bones but had everything you need. Communication could have been a little better. The marble shop across the street opens very early, 5:30am on weekdays.
This apartment was wonderful! It was just as pictured. Our arrival was easy and there was a map w/ local points of interest (shops, restaurants) waiting on us. It's two blocks from the subway and walking distance to anything you might want, including several amazing restaurants. Side note: if you plan to sleep-in, you might need some earplugs. The warehouse place across the street starts work around 7am. We did not have a problem with this as we were able to sleep until 8ish when we needed to get up anyway! If you want a legit NYC experience in a wonderful, non-touristy spot, then this is the spot for you.
