Check out all my listings! :-) Please note, I don't accept reservations more than 3 months in advance...
The Loft is a lovely & light-filled apartment in a waterfront rowhouse in Brooklyn's booming Greenpoint Historic District, on the riverfront just north of bustling Williamsburg. Walk to the Bedford "L" subway stop, or just a few blocks to the Greenpoint "G" stop. East River Ferry service (with multiple stops in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens) is 2 blocks from the house, on the India Street waterfront. Plenty of restaurants, bars, boutiques, cafes, galleries, banks, gyms, etc all within blocks.
800 completely open interior square feet; kitchen, dining area, living room, bedroom nook and private on-floor bathroom. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor of a building which houses an antiques store on the first floor (which has a lovely garden, of which you have a view down below while gazing out at the stellar Manhattan skyline, including a fantastic view of the Empire State and the Chrysler Building!).
Commercial & residential dead-end street, terminating at Transmitter Park on the East River. Full kitchen with gas stove, oven and full-size refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher and washer/dryer. WiFi access. There is no television in this house, because you have better things to do here in NYC! There is a Bose ipod/iphone dock. This sunny loft is furnished with a variety of antiques and modern accessories, and features gorgeous exposed beams and beautiful original wide-plank floors. (*Please note: fireplace is NOT functional!) There is a window A/C unit, and this is an airy apartment with a fantastic cross-current, right on the East River, and in the winter months you'll be toasty warm; this entire building was a loving & complete gut job, with all brand-new electric and plumbing. Please be aware that this street is both commercial & residential; while the noise level is normal for NYC, this is not a "silent" apartment. Closing the front windows at night helps considerably.
Bedroom is a Queen size bed, and sleeper sofa opens to a Double bed.
Regarding the floorplan: It is of course a fully private apartment, it's just an old townhouse layout (the building was built in 1870s) -- your bathroom door and front door are literally right next to each other on the 2nd floor landing, and at the other end of that corridor is the door to the 3rd floor apartment. I own this property with my best friend Alex (a total sweetie) and he lives on the 3rd floor; his apartment is completely self-contained, and you won't be sharing any portion of your space with him.
Privacy & comfort await!

Enjoy your stay!
This was probably the most amazing place I have EVER stayed. Getting in was easy and seamless and the space itself is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful window light, perfectly decorated space that I would stay in again and again. Close to some amazing shops and restaurants and easy to access all other areas of Brooklyn! Thank you THANK YOU Maya for being so wonderful!
Great neighbourhood. Easy and convenient access to the subway. beautiful view of Manhattan skyline. Flat as advertised and full of light (and keen recyclers). Free parking on street. Would recommend you stay here.
I've stayed in the Greenpoint loft a few times now, and it has become my home away from home in Brooklyn. Maya and Alex are wonderful hosts- very helpful, amiable, and easy to deal with. The loft is spacious and has lovely light, and remains a very peaceful place, even as the neighborhood becomes more lively! It is a great place to have friends over for dinner, a great place to write, and a great place to sleep. I hope I will have the opportunity to return many times in the future!
From the moment we arrived our experience was nothing short of excellent. It's a great, warm loft apartment in a perfect location. The metro is a block away and there are countless cool bars, cafes and restaurants within walking distance in every direction.
Maya was an amazing host. If ever we required anything she attended to it immediately. Although that was rare as 99.9% of what we needed was catered for in the apartment. The apartment was private, secure and most importantly very homely. We would recommend it as a great base to explore all New York has to offer.
Maya was great - it was super seamless - really so simple and the apartment is great - be sure you consider proximity to city if you choose to stay as there are likely more convenient options from logistics viewpoint but if you're ok with Greenpoint this is the place
We stayed at Maya's Greenpoint apartment for a week during November. The apartment was just as it was pictured and was very roomy for New York standards. It was well heated which was great as we had a particularly cold snap while we were there. The only thing is the apartment is across the road from a warehouse and trucks are often to be found idling their engines in the early morning. Some double glazing on the windows would be a great investment for future guests. The bathroom is accessed from outside the apartment but is on the same floor. I didn't pick this up from the description but it's good to be forewarned.
The loft was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting New York. It was spacious, well stocked, and homey. Comfortable bed, large shower, and a cool view of the Empire State Building from the kitchen windows. The neighborhood was full of hidden gems and the adjacent park was a wonderful bonus. The only downside was the sound of trucks coming and going on early weekday mornings at the stone company across the street. If you are a sound sleeper like me however this shouldn't be a problem. Excellent birthday experience! I would definitely stay here again.
