We highly recommend!
Marco Polo is a fantastic host. Super friendly guy who takes real interest in your well-being while staying at his chalet. He's very engaging, approachable and totally cool guy. He took really good care of me and made sure I got the best stay out of my situation. Checking in with me and offering me to take me along for tours and surf lession; the latter of which I could unfortunately not do, as I was a bit sick and feeling weak for most of my stay. The chalet looks like on the pictures and is ideal if you are a couple or friends as it really is away from the crowds and smack in the middle of the jungle with all its mystic sounds and a truly remote feeling. But there is 2 bikes to explore, the bus down the road. However, a rent car would be the best, I reckon, to fully take in what the island can offer, especially as the weather can be rainy and chilly. Just ask Marco Polo, he truly helps you with ANY question or query you may have. The chalet is well maintained, clean and tidy and is perfect for nature-loving people in search of a charming rustic hideaway in the midst of the forest but yet easily accessible. Marco Polo provided transportation from and to the bus terminal which was on-time and super dependable!
It was my best Airbnb experience. Marco Plolo's chalet is just perfecty locacted in the middle of the local jungle, you can hear the silence and birds sometimes. If you want something exclusive you have a small dream beach available at 15 to 20 mn walk from the chalet, in that place no chance to see others tourists, maybe 2 or 3 local surfers when its crowded. I had 2 surf trip with Marco Polo its a chance to have this kind of lessons with a Champion like him, now I know where I have to progress. I recommand 200% this experience in the beautiful Florianopolis Island. Thanks a lot
Como todos comentam aqui, o Marco é realmente o melhor dos anfitriões. Super gentil e atencioso. Nos levou pra fazer aulas de surf (que manhã boa!), onde precisávamos e ainda no aeroporto super cedo.
A casa é ótima!
If you are considering staying at Marco Polo's chalet, do it! He is the most generous Airbnb host we have ever met (and we have stayed with some amazing hosts), and we really loved our 10 days at the chalet. The chalet itself is great - every little detail was taken care of (even a grilled cheese sandwich maker!), it was super clean, private and the location is perfectly situated within walking distance of the Lagoa, Joaquina, and Mole. And of course the secret beach, which can be reached by a moderately easy hike through the jungle and is usually completely private. Marco Polo was kind enough to show us around the island a bit, but even without that we didn't feel like we needed a car. Because we stayed there longer, we weren't in a hurry and didn't mind walking everywhere. Marco Polo also has a couple mountain bikes that you can use. There are a supermarket and some pretty good food options within a very short walk, and better food options in Centrinho, which is reachable via a long walk or a bus ride. Everything was exactly as represented in the pictures. We saw some lizards on the outside of the windows at night (hunting moths) and there are mosquitoes in the jungle of course, but we didn't see many insects make it into the chalet. Anyway, we couldn't be happier with our stay! If the description of the chalet sounds like your type of place, don't hesitate to book it because Marco Polo himself makes it that much better! Even though he doesn't live right on the property, he knows how to make guests feel comfortable in a new land, and we feel very lucky to have met him in Floripa!
Marco Polo is a very friendly host who really does everything to make you happy in his place. I loved the place and I really had a great time. What I liked most was the little beach just 20 mins away, which you reach after a hike on a little path through the jungle which starts directly at the house (the path itself is a bit adventurous, but that is part of the fun). I went there every morning and I was always completely alone on that beautiful beach. This is a great place to rent if you are not to much afraid about a few bugs and mosquitos and it is definitely worth the money!
Muito obrigado to Marco Polo!
