Welcome to the North Shore Loft!
The North Shore Loft is at a location that cannot be beat, beautiful Velzy Land Beach is just 600 feet (a very short walk) away, an ocean view from the bedroom upstairs. And Sunset Beach just a stroll down the beach from Velzy Land. There is a walking/bike path that starts here at Velzy Land, and goes 3.5 miles to Waimea Bay. This amazing 3.5 mile stretch includes some of the worlds most beautiful and famous beaches and surf breaks, including Banzai Pipeline, Rocky Point, Off the Wall, Sharks Cove(great snorkeling!!), and many more. No matter is you are a serious surfer or a family looking for fun in the sun, this location has something for everyone. The North Shore Loft is much more private than a condo. It has a large loft bedroom with an ocean view and two queen size beds, a hide-a-bed pull out couch, inflatable queen bed, a full kitchen downstairs in the living area,( stove, fridge, microwave, coffee pot, toaster oven, toaster, blender, utensils, iron, etc), full bath, with full size tub, shower and sink, plus an outdoor shower to rinse off after a day at the beach,The property has it's own full size washer and dryer, gas BBQ grill, snorkel gear, and off street parking. It is a beautiful airy space, with satellite TV, and a small deck. There is a beautiful ocean view from the upstairs. Historic Haleiwa Town is only 10-15 minutes away, and about 8 minutes in the other direction is Turtle Bay Resort (one of the most beautiful vacation destinations in the state of Hawaii). Prefer to take the bus...there is a nearby bus stop, as well. The property also has wireless internet access. Welcome the North Shore Loft and Aloha!
There is plenty of snorkel gear for you to use, but please rinse salt off after use. I try to have a couple boogie board available, and some kids beach toys for playing in the sand. The Loft has its own full size washer and dryer, and its own gas BBQ grill. There is also off street parking.
Interaction with Guests
My guests are free to let themselves in with the key left in the lock box, and make themselves at home. I know their time here goes by so fast and they will be busy enjoying the beach and the site, so I give them privacy and let them enjoy the property. But I am here if they need me. If I see you out in the drive way, I will come over and say hello. If I don't see my guests in passing, and they would like to meet, please let me know. Feel free to email, text, or call me any time with any questions or concerns. I want you all to have a wonderful time here on the North Shore, and I am so happy to be able to share my piece of paradise.
This is such a great neighborhood. It is quiet, and safe. The neighbors are all wonderful helpful people. And we have one of the most beautiful, not crowded beaches just 600 feet from the property. Ted's Bakery is a couple of blocks up the way. Foodland grocery store is only a 5 minute drive. All the best beaches with in 3 miles.
I would suggest renting a car, since we are in the country. However there is an excellent bus system on the Island that can take you where ever you want to go, it just may take some time getting there. And you are only allowed a carry on bag on the bus, no luggage. The property does have off street parking. The airport is a 45 minute drive, I have detailed directions with your itinerary. Haleiwa Town is about 15 minutes away.
Aloha and Welcome to the North Shore Loft! Kindly please observe the following house rules when you are staying at our home. Also, there is a book on the end table with some helpful info. like how to use the shower, etc.
***CHECK IN is any time after 3:00 PM. CHECK OUT is any time BEFORE 11:00 AM. There is only a 4 hour window of time to completely clean and set up before the next guests arrive. Please do not arrive early, or check out late unless you have permission from Rainey. Late check out with out permission, may result in an extra fee.
- Please please please wash the sand off your feet and your body in the outdoor shower located under the stairs, before coming up to the home. Hawaiian sand is very abrasive to floors and it clogs up the drain in the shower and causes overflow, and we would love it if we kept the sand out of the house.
-Please don't flush ANYTHING except toilet paper, We do NOT have city sewage, only a septic system that is very sensitive. We do not want toilet overflow!!
-Please take out trash and put in dark grey thrash bins located on the edge of the driveway. Take out perishable food trash on a daily basis, or keep it in the refrigerator. This is the tropics and we do have ants, etc.
- Please turn off lights and fans and any other items you aren't using when you leave for the day.
-Please don't leave the windows wide open in case of rain, cracked oped a little is fine.
-Please park in the gravel driveway located next to the stairs.
- MOST IMPORTANT, Relax and Enjoy! E komo mai. :)
Rainey's place was not only cute and cozy, but it also came equipped with beach towels, fins, and snorkeling gear. Our group had a few extra people, and Rainey was considerate enough to provide extra towels and bedding for us. Thanks for making our stay extremely comfortable, Rainey!
Great place, great location and great communication from Rainey. I would definitely recommend staying here and would return if I was to come back to the north shore. For a group of four girls, Rainey's place was perfect. The extra touches like fresh fruit, towels and cooking utensils/ingredients were a lovely and very handy extra which I didn't expect. Thanks for the stay Rainey - We loved it!
We arrived after dusk, but Rainey's instructions made finding the place and settling in simple and easy. Having a parking spot right next to the studio was a blessing as parking in the area appeared limited. The house was clean and came equipped with everything needed for three days at the beach (towels, sun umbrella, bodyboards, snorkels and even flip-flops!). We loved having full access to a washer/dryer and the gas BBQ. The beach is two minutes walk away, offering gorgeous sand and surf for both beginners and experienced swimmers alike. The apartment works perfectly for those on a surf safari or for a family looking to enjoy the beaches on the North Shore, we being the latter. We enjoyed a take out meal from Ted's one night, but be careful walking the busy road to the bakery at night. A great place to stay, with access to Waikiki Beach (sixty minute drive) if you want it.
We arrived at the property on Sunday evening and it was exactly as described - even more so when we realized how close we were to the beach and the size of the home. It's perfect for two folks. After spending the weekend in Waikiki bunking down in Rainey's home was a total God-shot for us. you never really know what you are going to get but this place is a pleasant surprise!
Rainey's lovely loft on the north shore is a short walk from an awesome surfing beach located in paradise....i mean O'ahu. Just up the street from the world famous Waimea bay, the vibe here is mellow, and very family friendly. The upstairs loft bed area was a lot of fun for our two young boys, and the spiral staircase was a highlight for my little one. There is a great kitchen, ample supplies if you want to cook or grill, and a really peaceful porch where a sunset drink is de rigueur.....pardon mon Français...
For the kids, there are boogie boards available, and a nice outdoor shower to rinse off the sand before you come in. Check in and check out were very easy, and Rainey was extremely helpful and responsive to all our needs. I woke up early in the morning, to the sound of roosters crowing, and took a nice walk out to greet the day and watch the surfers. We only stayed here for one night, but we think we found a new destination on the north shore for when our boys are bigger and better surfers. Life is good here, I'd recommend Rainey's place to anyone who loves the ocean and is seeking a wonderful place to stay on the north shore.
We ran into Rainey as we were pulling up to the house. She helped us settle in and gave us a few tips about the area. The house is pretty centrally located (in north shore terms) and it was really easy to get around. The local food trucks are great and the beaches are super nice and super close. Ted's Bakery is a must (5 min walk).
The house was really clean and comfortable, it had a ton of extra stuff we didn't even have time to play with. This was the tail end of our trip and really put the icing on the cake.
Great times, great place.
We enjoyed our week at the North Shore Loft--the space was clean, the neighborhood was very quiet, there is a dedicated parking spot, and there are some items in the bathroom and kitchen just in case you forgot anything. I really appreciated that coffee and filters were there! The only drawback was that I had trouble opening the lockbox when I arrived, but to be fair, I was exhausted and it was dark, so that might have been pilot error. Being able to walk across the street to the beach was amazing as was being able to see the waves from bed.
I live on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii. I love it here. I live so close to so many of the worlds most awesome beaches. I love to ride bike on the bike path that starts at the end of my street at "Velzy Land" and goes to "Waimea Bay". I like to hike and see the many breathtaking views that this area has to offer. I read a lot. I mostly love to enjoy all this with my family. I have two daughters.
