This is the master BR in a 2 bedroom unit. It has high (pitched) ceilings and a private bathroom which has some remodeling to be done but is fully functional. The other bedroom is occupied by me.
If you are going to ask for a discount, please state specifically how much and have something to offer in return.
II generally cannot accommodate parties of 2 for more than a couple of days and there is a surcharge for each extra person (35). Typically I don't do long term stays (more than a few weeks) because it doesn't usually benefit me financially
I'm currently fostering two rabbits so please keep that in mind.
In addition to the typical items, the kitchen has an Excalibur dehydrator, a Greenstar & Champion juicer, and a VitaMix blender. There is also a washer and dryer (laundry) in the unit.
Within walking distance are 3 different Whole Foods markets, the Co-op Natural Foods, as well as a US Post Office and UPS. The beach and 3rd St Promenade are less than a mile away. Venice is a bit further. The Getty museum is not far (near UCLA). Check out the neighborhood map below.
BigBlueBus is an excellent system. I can provide a permit for street parking which is required at all times. Finding a spot sometimes requires patience late at night.
I am a straight male. It's not important to me what you are.
Please don't have any expectations about the kind of person I am.
You can however expect to have a nice secure place to stay.

Calvin was a nice host. The room was clean plus easy access to the bathroom and privacy. I must note that there is still remodeling in process so there are some walls unpainted.
Experience as described. Calvin is a very friendly and helpful guy. The bed is comfy and the location is excellent.
I stayed 3 nights in Clavin’s place. The room is spacious and quiet. The bed is super awesome and the linens are soft and clean. The bathroom is finished now so it worked great for me. The living room is a bit hard to hang out, but the big table in my room is good for reading and working.
I spent the most of my time just chilling so I’m not too sure about the attractions around the area. But on Whilshire Ave. there are great restaurants and cafes, all within 15 minutes’ walk. And whole foods market is 10 minutes by foot, 3rd st. shopping promenade around 20 minutes.
Calvin is a wonderful host. He took me in when I was turned down by the other host without advance notice. The response was fast. He’s laid back and easy to communicate with. Also He is very respectful to my personal space, which I am much appreciated.
Plus the rabbits are cute…
Thank you very much for everything Calvin!
Calvin is a nice guy, we were grateful for our stay. We had a hard time parking in the neighborhood. The master room had a cool bathtub/shower situation. It wasn't my favorite place, it was a bit cluttered and not as inviting as I hoped.
Well, actually I only spend 3 days there.there is a little different from the pics but I was fine w that.the best thing is the house only need to take 15mins walking to the beach n quite closer to the shopping mall which is really convenient!Calvin was really nice to me,he gave me a ride to the airport and he is very good roommate!
Great affordable place to stay in Santa Monica. The owner (Calvin) was very responsive and easy to communicate with, and very helpful. He lent me his parking permit for easy street parking, accommodated my arrival time, and even met back at the place the following day after I had left my phone there.
