Cambria Artist Retreat!

Cabin - Private room · Wilcombe Dr, Cambria, CA 93428, United States

The Space

This little guest house is an artistic and rustic little cabin in my backyard! It is really not a BNB, just a great little place to stay in Cambria. We call it "the pub", as it looks and feels like an old English pub. It has one full size bed and a single bed.

Although, there is NO TOILET or running water in the pub, guest have access to a beautiful guest bath in the main house. We have filtered water for drinking available in the pub, an electric tea pot, and a small frig for food/drinks.

WIFI available in the Pub! Flat screen TV and DVD player In the Pub (a few DVDs to watch and a HDMI cable and hook up for your computer). Parking is free and easy.

Cambria can be cold at night, especially winter and sometimes during spring time! The pub is heated with a wood stove. It does heat up nicely, but cools down quickly when you go out and in the morning when you wake up.

Hearst Castle, downtown Cambria and the ocean are all just minutes away by car. Downtown is about a 15 minute walk there and 20 minutes back. It is all down hill to the East Village from our house, so coming back can be challenging. Fiscallini Ranch Perserve is also about a 15 minute walk to our favorite trailhead from our front door.

NO BREAKFAST served (although we have shared dinner and/or breakfast with guest if time and schedules permit).

NO PETS allowed, I have two female dogs on the property, one is an alpha female and it takes some work to get her to accept other doggies in her territory!!!!!

Two Nice/Friendly Big Dogs on Property!! Lucy and Biggie G are good girls and will bark loudly when you arrive! They are just doing their little jobs and are very good at it. With a simple introduction from us, they will demand belly scratches.

The pub sleeps really great, very quiet, except for the occasional raccoon that travels over the roof top. I love to build a fire in the rainy season, get a good book and settle into the pub for hours! Looking forward to meeting you!

  • Ammy's pub is one of the coziest and most unique airbnbs I've ever visited. It has so much history in it and really feels like you're in a magical place. The bed is super comfortable I didn't want to get up! Ammy is very caring and responsive. We had some car troubles on the way up which forced us to get in late at night. She was very understanding and prepared the pub with warm blankets and a fire. I'd highly recommend anyone to experience the pub!!

  • Our stay at Robins was good, walking distance to fisherman's wharf and cannery row. There is a convenience store across the road which was handy. There is some water noise from above either bathroom or kitchen which Robin mentions. We were running late for our arrival time duevto driving through Big Sur however Robin and Bob were very understanding.

  • This was my boyfriend and I's first airbnb stay and we could not have been happier! Ammy was a welcoming and friendly host who was also very helpful in regards to suggestions of what to do in the area. As for the pub itself, we loved it! As everyone stated, very inviting and cozy with a rustic charm. Ammy's backyard where it is located is amazing as well! If we're ever back in this area, we would not hesitate to stay here again. Thanks for everything Ammy!

  • Ammy was a wonderful host, very welcoming, and with plenty of useful local knowledge. The artists retreat was very cosy and comfortable, and Ammy lit the wood burner for us every evening before we came back from eating out. Made us feel very much at home.

  • My daughter and I live in Japan, and she was very inspired by the rustic but quiet and comfortable space. Ammy was a gracious host, taking time to settle us in and show us around the lovely garden even though she was in the middle of shooting a short film in the main house. She made a fire for us so that when we returned from dinner in town, the space was warm and welcoming. We heard various birds including an owl in the morning. A memorable stay!
