Welcome to Eva & David’s house. This ground-floor 4 room apartment in a traditional Lebanese residential building was previously our painting workshop, situated at the lower end of Monot Street. It has high ceilings, stained glass windows and tiled floors and is ideally located a few minutes walk from Downtown and Gemmayze and a wealth of restaurants and bars.
The apartment consists of 2 guest rooms which lead onto the dining and sitting room through old-fashioned double doors. The fully-furnished and recently re-fitted kitchen and bathroom are off the hall. The guest rooms can be rented separately or together.
Room 2: two joined beds which can be separated, desk and closet.
Spoken languages: English, French, Arabic and Italian.
There is one inconvenient: they just started a construction site next to the apartment. It can be noisy 8am to 4pm on weekdays.
Nice place, great location, Eva and David are very helpful people. If you're looking for a place to stay in Beirut, you should definitively go there!
Eva was very helpful replying to my numerous queries before the booking, even regarding VISA requirements etc. David then helped our friend find the flat and ensured a very late check-in (our flight was delayed). We stayed in the rooom with the 2 beds, which can be separated, it got quie chilly at nights, but the gaz heaters warmed us up & there are plenty extra blankets & duvets. You can enjoy free and fast WIFI in this beautiful & traditional appartment, bathroom is a bit "sporadic" so you better keep your flip-flops on when taking a shower. We had the company of small bugs on the wall when taking a shower, but this is an old Lebanese house, so you gotta be pepared for such kind of things. Hot water needs to be turned on about 1.5-2hrs before you want to take a shower, but then, enough pressure & enough hot water. Ideally located for discovering Beirut by foot, 10 minutes walk to dowtown & the ocean. Plenty of bars & restaurants around! Good address & lovely hosts.
Eva and David are accommodating and gracious hosts. I cannot say enough about their kindness and overall attentiveness. David made sure that my taxi took me to the flat and was waiting on the street outside. He helped with my bags and even tipped my driver when I didn't have proper change on me. Eva and David came to the flat a number of times to check on me and to ask what they could do to make my visit more comfortable. They left tea and coffee and even made me coffee one morning during a visit.
The apartment itself is in an old beautiful building. Like many apartments in Lebanon in the winter, it can get a bit damp. However, Eva and David have gas heaters and the apartment is beautifully decorated. The bathroom is not luxurious and best with flip flops but somewhat typical for lebanese apartments like this one.
One major positive about the apartment, aside from its decor and lovely lovely hosts, is the location. It is in the middle of the city and very close to some of the most amazing nightlife in Beirut. It's tucked away in the neighborhood of Saifi district right by SJU -- not as mainstream as Mar Mikail and certainly a favorite of the locals who love small cafes and low-key bars. A few steps away is martyrs square and the ocean is just beyond it. This is an excellent apartment. I think it would be absoluely perfect in the summer months, when the temps are high outside.
Fantastic apartment! It really is a very stunning place. David and Eva made us feel very welcome. David gave our taxi driver directions to the apartment over the phone and once we arrived even gave us a tour of Beirut in his car, pointing out his favourite places to eat and drink.
A stunning apartment made all the more better by the hosts. Thank you both again.
The place is beautifully restored and decorated. Very high ceilings and nice windows. David helped us with the taxi instructions and gave us information about Beirut, they offered to take us to Gemmayze with their car even though they were about to head to the mountains. It was definitely the right choice to capture more of Beirut and its atmosphere. Thank You for the hospitality.
Eva & David are really nice people! David picked me up at 4am because the taxi driver didn't know anything about Beirut and couldn't find the place!!
The house is nice and very well located, the neighborhood is also nice, close to downtown and it has the best falafel in town ;)
I'll repeat for sure
The house is as it is described. Location is just perfect. Hosts are so friendly and kind. I definitely reccomend this flat !
