Log Home set in beautiful Jo Daviess County. Quiet secluded setting, with spectacular view, on one of the highest hilltops in Illinois! Morning sunrises are exceptional. Evening sunsets are breathtaking. Starry nights are amazing. Pets are allowed (with notification and fee).
Feel free to explore the acres of wooded areas with mowed paths and open space with wildflower patches and berries in the summer. Relax in the hot tub located on the west deck during the sunset or a starry night.
The space
Located on remote hilltop of generational family farm. Log home was moved to hilltop and rebuilt with touches of the farm integrated into the structure along with new and modern touches.
Guest access
Guests have access to 10 acres of wild flowers, prairie grasses, nature food plots and open spaces. 15 acres of timber to the west with mowed walking and snowshoeing paths.
Watch the sunset while relaxing in the 6 person hot tub that sits on our west deck.
Other things to note
-Pets are allowed with prior notification. Pet fee of $15/night/pet applies. Please inform hosts and review pet policy in "rules"
- Our rental has ROKU internet TV, which provides access to NETFLIX, sling, HULU and more with guests login and password.
- Guests also need to be aware that there is a 5% county and local tax that will be applied through an Airbnb "special request".
- We have many activities within 1/2 hour to add to your enjoyment. 7 Wineries, 3 Micro-Breweries, 3 State Parks, the Schurmeier teaching forest, Jo Daviess Conservation Foundation properties, Fishing, Kayaking, Hiking. Apple Canyon Lake (a private lake) is located 15 minutes away and we have guest passes available for those who stay with us.
Many local restaurants close by. Stockton, within 1 mile, has all your necessary shopping options. Galena, IL is 30 minutes west, and offers another option to spend a day.
- For the Winter enthusiasts, Chestnut Mountain ski resort is 30 minutes away and there is cross country and snowshoeing space surrounding our log home and on our farm. A major groomed snowmobiling path, connecting to neighboring towns, also passes through our farm.
****At this time, we are still renting out our cabin in the wake of COVID-19. We are taking extra precautions and conduction deep cleanings between guests, on top of our regular cleaning process. We are also following AirBnb & the CDC closely to ensure that we are staying up-to-date with the latest news and protocols in relation to this pandemic. At a time when we all could use an escape from the stress of the world and a place to relax during these uncertain times, we want to be able to provide people with a clean & safe place to do so.****
