In this town, more policy was given to cars than to transport, so if you like to and want to get around locally, drive your car half-way to downtown, then explore on local buses and trolleys. We live where we work so often times we get to share about one meal together. We are a happy and friendly home so you'll see a lot of us during the week although because I do yoga, it's usually soft atmosphere. I also travel at least once a month and when I'm away, the the house is quiet.

I had a wonderful stay at Yoga Nivas Ashram. It is clean and comfortable and most importantly warm. I felt like I was home. Ajeet was very responsive via email. Her dog Oscar is my new favorite dog. I highly recommend a stay there.
I'm really glad that I found this place. Ajeets lifestyle, food, home is very sustainable and healthy ... thus is the atmosphere and the talks I enjoyed having with her. Though there are times when a lot of people are around you can always find some quiet time in your private room. The neighbourhood is really quiet and perfect to just go for a walk with oskar... it'll be hard to not love this dog. The first days the WiFi didn't work for me to Skype thus guess what Ajeet did? She got a new contract and router. Isn't that just a perfect example for a caring host? I definitely recommend you to stay here whether for a short or a long term, its just perfect
Ajeet is a wonderful person. She made me feel at home and she was hospitable. The house was quiet and the Oscar was nice as well. The neighborhood was safe and quiet as well.
Ajeet est une personne très accueillante et sa maison de Yoga permet de se mettre à l'aise rapidement sans soucis d'espace ou autre. Une expérience que je vous recommande à tout ceux de passage dans le Tennessee.
Ajeet is a very welcoming person, her home provide a great serenity. Fast you can settle in without problems. An recommanded experience for all people who come to Tennessee !!!
A home away from home!
I had to stay in Knoxville for 2 months for work, and it was a real pleasure being Ajeet's guest. Had I chosen a serviced apartment, I would have been bored and clueless about a lot of things, whereas instead, I was greeted by Ajeet and helped out on a variety of things. For example, she was very accommodating in helping me find a car or means of transport, and was very caring and expansive (doing groceries together, carpooling, showing me around the area etc.)
I have never lived in a house with a dog (an initial concern), but Oscar (the house dog) is a real treat, well behaved, and will quickly become your friend, greeting you when you return to the house and occasionally asking you to play with him :-)
The house is generally well-kept, and the room is large so as to have privacy when one wants it. It has plenty of drawer and wardrobe space for to stow away clothes and personal items.
In terms of location, it is close to downtown: a few minutes by car or a ~25 minute bicycle ride. It also has easy access to Alcoa highway (although the area itself is very quiet), and thus allows you to get to any other part of the town quickly.
All in all, it was a pleasurable stay and would definitely recommend Ajeet as a host!
I absolutely loved living with Ajeet. Her house was very relaxing and clean. She was a very hospitable host and I would recommend anyone coming through Knoxville to stay with her.
Ajeet was a lovely host and I really enjoyed getting to know her and her family. The location is absolutely beautiful and incredibly peaceful. I enjoyed waking up in the morning to the birds going crazy outside, and Oscar is such a sweet dog to have around. Overall, a peaceful, safe, welcoming home.

I am the owner of Light Tree ~ Healing Home & Yoga Bnb. We host passion-driven artists, travelers, scientists, happy parents and children, who access their true essence of Self through yoga, dance, meditation and natural, sustainable living.
I am a yogi and performance artist and I enjoy traveling to communities around the world, leading workshops, sharing my work and teaching. As my 17 year old son puts it, "Ajeet helps to smooth out the rough edges of a busy day, or put a higher curve in a smooth day". I've also been told after a healing session with me, it's like where there were hills, there is only speed bumps. I like this analogy.
I teach from a somatic view--it's all in our bones~ our heart and mind, emotions and illness ~ weave their web of peacefulness or stress that holds our world in place. I'm working right now teaching my children's yoga program, Dancing Spider Yoga which helps both parents and teachers share and learn yoga, while giving them 100% of the tools they need to bring yoga into their community and family.
While you are here, I'll have clients for yoga classes, Full Moon gatherings and healing sessions. If you like, go to my website, (website hidden), and book a session for yourself. It'll take the rough edges off your travel and give you good sleep. I'm also here to share stories, good food recipes, and good simple laughter.
In the summer I teach an Acting Course through the University of Tennessee through Kids U! My program, Got Talent! is an improvisational acting and theatrical class for elementary aged children. During the year, I lead Children's Yoga Teacher Trainings, Yoga Class in Kundalini & Meditation and am part of a larger network of peace makers and social activists, artists and healers in the south east region.
I live in the suburbs, so going hiking and visiting farms is a must! I'm part of several local community organizations, and am a beloved arts-driven social activist, permaculture student and intentional community expert. In this line of work, I help women and men uncover what is holding back their passion in life, and through the lens of yoga and meditation, absolutely reduce their stress so that they can embrace all of life with grace, radiance, and deep bliss
As a yoga and performing arts-in-education specialist I have taught at Natures Way Montessori School, Knoxville County Magnet Schools, Children's Hospital, YMCA, The Glowing Body, Helen Ross Mcnabb Mental Health Center, Sisters of the Rainbow, Knoxville County Public Defenders Office, and the Public Library.
I am available for a private session as a great way to 'get grounded' once you arrive! If you would like to schedule a Relax into Radiance day during your stay at Yoga Nivas, it would include a 1 hour healing, followed by a detoxifying juice. For more information on these sessions, please visit my site, (website hidden)
