You are as quiet and private and isolated as you want. Or wander down to the stables - play with the pets, feed some animals, or watch the horses in training. Horses are available for riding (additional cost). The ATV's are fun, too. And if you wish to see the world from above, we operate the only hot air balloon in Central America.

After Hurricane messed up our flights & original accommodations, we were able to book a last-minute reservation with Esteban. His directions were great (even the part about GPSs having a mind of their own.) Thanks, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). We stayed two nights in a beautiful villa. Esteban gave great recommendations for dinner & activities. He even coordinated an ATV excursion to hot springs with one of his guides ($90/person). It was just my wife & I & Daniel. Daniel was a great guide & pointed out a sloth (my wife had been dying to see one). We're hoping to visit Costa Rica again in the future & will definitely consider staying at La Finca again!

This was our first time in Costa Rica and to get a feel for the whole country, we stayed 5 days in San Jose and 2 days in the country-side at Esteban's ranch. After our 5 days in San Jose, we decided the country was beautiful but we questioned whether we would return. However, on the 6th day in Costa Rica, we arrived at the ranch and it changed our whole perspective on the beauty of this amazing country. After our very brief stay at Esteban's, we decided that we would certainly return and stay longer at the ranch. Our only small regret during our trip was that we only stayed the two days at the ranch, which we will certainly rectify next time. On to the specifics: I want to point out that the villas, which there are four of on the property, are all separate buildings and you can't see the other villas from your own villa, which ensures privacy. Our villa overlooked some mountains and the scene was much nicer in person. At night when it would rain, you could really get a sense of how great this place was while we relaxed on our porch overlooking the hills. They have a great hammock and rocking chairs, which we took advantage of. They also have a super cool chocolate lab who came around on the first day and greeted us; great dog. The rooms were very nicely furnished and clean. Only word of advice is, keep your room doors closed since any matter of small insects can sneak in since you are in the country/rainforest. The villa also has a fully stocked kitchen if you would like to cook during your stay. Overall, the villa was great. On to the services the ranch offers that you should take advantage of: be sure to order the breakfast, which is offered by the ranch and is reasonably priced; it is served at your villa by a staff and the food was delicious. Also, you have to go on a horse ride, the ranch horses were great. We went on a half day ride and it was just the right amount of time. We never really ride horses since we are from a large city but Danny, our personal tour guide, was great on showing us how to ride and took us on a really nice scenic ride through pineapple farms and streams; we even got to see monkeys. Next, we went on the ATV half day ride, also offered by the ranch. Again, Danny, our personal tour guide, took us out to ride through the city and hills. The views were amazing. At the end of the ATV ride, we ended up at a rustic natural hot springs next to a river. The entrance to the hot springs is included in the overall ATV fee and is certainly worth it. While we were riding, it started raining, which made it even more fun. When we arrived at the hot...

Wow! Amazing horseback riding trek through such a beautiful and amazing part of Costa Rica. The hot air balloon ride was magnificent and unforgettable. When we come back to C.R. we will be staying here again.

This place was such a gem! My and my best friend stayed here for 4 days. The place is surrounded with green. The room and bathroom are connected and then the kitchen is right next door.. all under the same roof but no access from the room. It wasn't a problem for us. Theres a pool on the property, shared with a couple other villas. We spent a whole day there and only seen one person. There's also ATV and horseback riding on the property, we did both with our guide Alonso. He was awesome!! So patient with my girlfriend who wasn't too fond of horsing back riding and couldn't see very well on the way back from ATV's. There's a grocery store less than 10min away, we went there our first day and bought enough food for our stay. The Sodas are an alternative option to cooking, and there are at least 5 within a 5min drive. Highly recommend 4wheel drive and also arriving during daylight, we arrived pretty late and it was pitch black and a rocky road to get to the property. Overall, I loved my stay at this property. I felt really connected to nature. I live in NY now so it was a very nice break, I would stay here again and for longer next time. Favorite part of my trip was waking up on the ranch and exploring the land around.

My wife, 18 month old son and I stayed at Esteban's accommodations in January 2017. Esteban and his family were extremely welcoming and friendly, and his accommodations were amazing. The location provides great access to La Fortuna, Arenal and surrounding areas, all while maintaining a perfect level of privacy. Suites feature a wall of windows to look out over the jungle, allowing us a great view of birds, including Toucans! The horses kept on site were in incredible condition, and there were also pigs and peacocks which delighted our son. The two family dogs were very friendly and accompanied us on walks around the property. If you have a chance, stay here and enjoy all of the beauty that Costa Rica can offer!

Amazing place to stay! It was a beautiful property in a great area with lots to do. Esteban and the rest of the crew were great! We felt very safe, relaxed and secluded. Definitely will be back there if we get the chance to travel back to Costa Rica.

We had a very enjoyable time at Esteban's place! The villa was exactly as the pictures suggested, with a beautiful view. Felt very safe and at ease on the property. Esteban was super easy to communicate with before and during our stay. He was very helpful in making sure we did all the activities we had wanted, and even called ahead to a few places to make sure it was a good day/to make reservations. There was also daily housekeeping, which was a nice and unexpected surprise. The most helpful recommendation to fellow travelers who stay here: Get a 4x4 rental, you will need it! :) Overall great experience, would recommend to fellow travelers!!
