We have lived and loved Sarasota for 20 years.
Our single family neighborhood is quiet and welcoming, yet convenient to everything, especially the beach and downtown. We sit under beautiful trees and are surrounded by tropical vegetation and floral gardens.
There is a dog walking path next to a stream which is next to our house.
Our location is convenient to all of Sarasota. There is bus service nearby, but most drive.
Other Things to Note
We have a lovely little geriatric dog who will be around. She is deaf and nearly blind but gets around fine and will probably want to meet you. When not with us, she remains in the house. We are careful not to reposition the furniture, as she has memorized placement inside and out.
POSITIVELY NO SMOKING IN THE HOUSE OR AROUND THE PROPERTY
Mutual respect for privacy as we live on the other side of the house.
Lock up when leaving
No wet bathing suits on the furniture
We love dogs but they must be trained
Andrea and Ken were great! The room was nice and the shower was a huge walk in and the bed was comfortable. We weren't at the house much but we enjoyed talking with them at breakfast. The house is also close to the beach, about a 10 min drive to Siesta Key and 5 min drive to downtown Sarasota.
Ken and Andrea provided an incredibly hospitable, warm and welcoming airbnb experience. It was my parents first time using it and they absolutely loved it. Their cozy home is close to all nearby attractions, from the beach to downtown and also quite close to all the wonderful restaurants. Andrea is quite involved in the local Sarasota arts scene, thus provided encyclopedic knowledge of the week's happenings and places to check out. Highly recommended for your stay!
we had 2 incredible days at Andrea and Ken. they have told us so much and breakfast was a poem. we often think of those days and recommend it absolutely to go there. thank you very much.
This was my first experience with Airbnb and it will remain a memorable wonderful one. The house and its owners blend together with natural charm. From the warm welcoming upon my arrival to their little paradise to the friendly hug in the jasmin smelly garden when I left, Ken and Andrea made my stay a very enjoyable and unique experience.
Both are great hosts, extremely friendly, very easy going, communicative and plenty sense of humor. I loved sharing their wonderful breakfast and having open conversation with them.
Their house is elegant and so comfortable, it is decorated with unique taste and has a lot of character. Very conveniently located, it is easy to drive to downtown for restaurants or the beaches on Siesta Key or Lido Key.
Their guest quarters are very private and offering everything you dream of having in your own home. There is plenty of space. You can relax in the library where you can watch TV and drink coffee or tea or simply enjoy a good quiet night of sleep in the comfortable bed. The bathroom and walk-in shower are master pieces.
Elegance and still simplicity is everywhere.
I really had a wonderful life experience and an exquisite enjoyable stay with Ken and Andrea who are making such a difference.
I came in the first day as a stranger to them and I left with the feeling I made new great friends I cannot wait to see again.
Take care Ken and Andrea.
Andrea and Ken were able to accomodate my last minute trip to Sarasota with no problems at all. They own a beautiful property that is centrally located to all that Sarasota and the surrounding beaches have to offer. I would recommend anyone to stay with them for a comfortable and relaxing experience.
Andrea and Ken's place was a slice of paradise. The gardens are beautiful and the squirrels and birds are a joy to observe. Spending time with them was a gift!
The house set up is perfect, you really do have your own wing. Roomy and comfortable!
About the Host, Andrea And Ken
Sharing life with husband Ken for 48 years, enjoying 3 married adult children and their families, including 5.5 grandchildren, I am fortunate to say that life is rich. Living in Sarasota, FL, affords the lush beauty of the flora, fauna and sea. We enjoy a vast array of arts experiences including local music and cultural enrichment with ballet, theater, etc. We escape summer heat by traveling and staying in our little cabin in upstate New York in a rustic setting. At all times, our surroundings offer subject matter for our hobby of photography.
