Description

The space

We do not charge a cleaning fee or charge local taxes.

Our private home is surrounded by beautiful gardens on a large lot. You are welcome to enjoy the outdoor spaces.
The indoor space is a completely separate wing which contains a bedroom and a sitting room/bedroom with a TV, refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave that provides more space for relaxation and can convert to a second bedroom.
There are 2 full baths with fluffy cotton towels and any toiletry you might need. Beach towels and beach equipment are also available for your use.

Extra guests in your party can stay in the sitting room on the deluxe full sized futon for an extra charge of $15 per person not to exceed 2 people.
We have 2 pack and play child beds and a small bed for children, toys, books, etc., if you bring little guests.

We welcome a well behaved, housebroken dog.
We have WIFI.
We serve a healthy breakfast which you can enjoy indoors or outside.

Guest access

Guests can enjoy the entire east wing of our house, which is separate from our living area, as well as the outdoor patios.
Parking is available in the driveway in the area to the left side of the garage.

Interaction with guests

We are happy to offer a healthy breakfast of coffee, tea and a variety of milk and juice options, natural or organic (when available) cereals, fresh fruit and baked goods, including gluten free options, which can be taken indoors or outside. Our guests often join us for breakfast where we are happy to be helpful with directions, restaurant reviews, activities and local destinations.
Generally, we are around and strive to be helpful in any way we can.
We have lived and loved Sarasota for 22 years.

The neighborhood

Our single family neighborhood is quiet and welcoming, yet convenient to everything, especially the beach and downtown. We sit under beautiful trees and are surrounded by tropical vegetation and floral gardens.
There is a dog walking path next to a stream which is next to our house.
Within a few blocks, we are fortunate to have Arlington Park, which has an Olympic sized pool, playground, tennis courts, gym with pickleball, basketball, etc.

Getting around

Our location is convenient to all of Sarasota. There is bus service nearby, but most drive.

Other things to note

We have a lovely little geriatric dog who will be around. She is deaf and nearly blind but gets around fine and will probably want to meet you. When not with us, she remains in the house in our area, not in the guest suite. We are careful not to reposition the furniture, as she has memorized placement inside and out.

Sharing our lives for 50 years, enjoying 3 married adult children and their families, including 6 grandchildren, we are fortunate to say that life is rich. Living in Sarasota, FL, affords the lush beauty of the flora, fauna and sea. We enjoy a vast array of arts experiences including local music and cultural enrichment with ballet, theater, etc. We escape summer heat by traveling and staying of the grid in our little cabin in upstate New York. At all times, our surroundings offer amazing subject matter for our hobby of photography.
