This is a lovely jungle studio apartment located in the most convenient area of Manuel Antonio. It has Costarican flair and all the mod cons. Open floor plan with kitchen and livingroom area and a large jungle view deck. Long term rates are available
We did not stay at oasis 3 because as 2 seniors the nearby road was just too noisy and we don't do well without AC at night for sleeping. Our host Sheryl was very accommodating and upgraded us to a lovely studio in the Villas complex for a fair price.Newly renovated and wildlife on the bananas in front of the balcony.Well kept grounds with cool deep swimming pool.
I want to preface this review by saying that we did not meet the host, granted it was a busy time of the year. This isn't necessarily a reflection on the host personally, but a reflection on our experience within the hotel grounds and staff.
The hotel grounds itself were gorgeous, please understand that the premises itself is absolutely stunning so we had great expectations upon arrival. This room is just not well maintained + did not live up to the rest of the beauty that is within the hotel. Maybe other rooms are of a higher quality and standard, but our room was an exception perhaps due to the lower price point. Whether that is a good enough reason is up to you to decide.
The room itself is very dark, does not have as much light as shown in the photos, even in the middle of the day it was not even as half as bright as pictured. Our one major issue with this apartment was that there were ants literally everywhere. We spoke to the people at the front desk, but they did not do anything... nothing ever happened. Our sheets were changed only once within the 4 days, the ceiling fan worked poorly, and it was humid and hot! There are no real windows so you can smell anyone smoking within the area.
There is a front desk, but they weren't so helpful, even when we kindly asked them for recommendations to what to eat, or where to go, they often replied aloofly...They were nice but totally aloof most of the time. The language barrier was not an issue, just the lack of reaction or empathy or basic customer service. It was almost as though they didn't take us seriously. I promise we were so polite and did even not put up a fuss, especially over the ant situation!
We were happy to leave and move on to our next destination, but sad that this place was so lacklustre, especially in such a beautiful town....
Thank you for taking the time to review the jungle studio apartment . Firstly I would like to point out that this apartment 1) is not on hotel property so as such you were only entitled to maid service once weekly. You stayed for 4 days only and received maid service !
This little studio is very inexpensive , is "rustic Costa Rican style" in the sense that it has ceiling fans, local wood doors etc. The price is comparable to a private room in a youth hostel . Keeping that in mind ,it is very good value for the price and we have a number of return guests who book it for up to 3 weeks at a time . We have never had complaints about cleanliness . Ants can be an issue from time to time. ..you are in the jungle here. The studio is not hermetically sealed ,is ground level, and if you leave any kind of food ,fruit, or sugar around, the ants will appear. I questioned my staff regarding some of the points in your letter. The ant situation according to maintenance and cleaning staff was addressed and the studio was sprayed.
We just had some return guests in that studio for 2 weeks and they did not have an issue with the fans. They have just re booked it for next year. BTW: This is not a room it is a small studio apartment with a self catering kitchen and is priced at $65/night.
The reception staff at the hotel are happy to help guests who are staying in the apartments next door and often do so despite the fact that you are Not hotel guests. You are not entitled to all of the services in the hotel (aircon, daily maid service etc) and the price you pay reflects this.
My staff in the hotel reception are the "meet & greet" team here and have received consistently good reviews . They told me that they had very little interaction with you so were surprised to read this review. They did say that you requested options to travel south and then left and made your own arrangements online. You chose a company that we do not work with. Had you consulted us first about this company, we would have advised you against using them. We can hardly be blamed for your choices.
We had a fantastic time at Villas Nicolas, the Oasis Jungle room was perfect exactly what we wanted slightly secluded from other rooms. Sheryl, Julio and Alex were extremely helpful and friendly whenever we wanted help or advice. The pool is gorgeous and the food awesome, try the tuna!
Charming suite! The room doesn't see a lot of sunlight and is a bit dark though. Also no AC. Otherwise a great stay.
