Lovely, cosy and very bright studio in strict center of Ljubljana - all the attractions are within 5 minutes walking distance (main square (Preseren square), three bridges, market, the narrow streets and small squares of the old town, Tivoli Park ...)
It's like the best location in the whole city - there is no other building in strict center of Ljubljana, that would be literally surrounded with parks and at the same time surrounded by all the sites and attractions. Because of that it's very quite and peaceful location, so you can hardly believe you're in strict center and not hearing in apartment any cars or city noise. The apartment has a view on a park and presidential palace (50 meters away) and is all around surrounded by parliament and embassies (USA, UK, German, Russian, Austrian, Swiss, Japanese, Belgium and Macedonian embassies are less then 100 meters away - no joke :)) - the safest place in town! :)
Public transport/bus stop is just in front of the building - but most probably you won't need that, since you will be almost for sure using just your legs - everything is within 5 minutes of walking, remember? :) But anyhow - I give a public transport card (10 euros bonus on) to every guest and they can use it for public transport, renting bicycles (for free) or just visiting the museums.
I am renting the place only for individuals/couples above 30y.
Wireless internet, cable TV, washing machine, parking, elevator in building, balcony ... In price are also included bedding, towels, shower gels, shampoos, soap ...
And I will really take care of you - coffee, tea and fresh fruit will be available so you can have a beautiful breakfast at the table on the cute little balcony and fridge will be filled with different cheeses, olives, capers, milk, yogurts, beers ... - everything freshly bought on the day of your arrival! :)
Pets are allowed.
Smoking is allowed only on balcony. ;)
Letter in which guests introduce themselves is required. ;)
Make reservation at least three days in advance (before your arrival).
I don't accept guests under 30 years old.
Only well mannered pets are allowed.
No heavy drinking and smoking in apartment and no parties. :) It's a nice and quiet neigbourhood. ;)
No other guests than those with reservation.
Thank you very much! :)
Really lovely apartment, in a good location. Everything was as described, very cosy and clean and some nice touches, such as leaving the fridge stocked with milk and leaving the Urbana cards for the bus and bikes. Didn't meet Irena as she was away, but was met by her friend Ursa who was very friendly, easy to communicate with and flexible about our arrival time. Our only disappoint was regarding the parking, as this was one of the reasons we chose this apartment. When we arrived we were told that the remote for the parking had been lost so we needed to park in the street. Ursa did say that Irena would cover the cost of this, but we still had to return to the car every 4 hours to buy a new ticket, and get up at 8am as it would not accept payment the night before. Luckily we just had to do this for 2 days as one day of our stay was a national holiday.
I have to sincerly apologize you for not getting in touch earlier, but since I was for the last few weeks in pretty remote places without any internet or mobile connection in West Papua, it was pretty much impossible for me. :(
I've heard about the disappearance of remote control of the parking gate. I have no words to explain how sorry I am. I am certain that I prepared it for you - and obviously it got lost at one point after I've left to Papua and before you arrived. Nothing like this ever happened before, I am definitely not an irresponsible host and way too big control freak when it comes to my guests, trust me on this. I am very precise and caring host, and so far I haven't got any complains - even more, all the guests were really charmed by everything. Again, I feel terribly sorry for the inconvenience Alice...
However, I hope you had despite this a lovely time in Ljubljana and I wish you all the best :)
Irena's place was perfect! Great location, easy to walk to everything, and very comfortable. Unfortunately, Irena was not in the country at the time, so we did not get to meet her, but her husband, Igor, was wonderfully helpful! He met us at the apartment, helped us get settled, offered several suggestions of what to do, see and eat, and even answered an early Sunday morning call about our luggage that arrived the day after we did! The fridge was stocked with beer, cheese, etc as promised. I would recommend this apartment to anyone!
Irena's apartment was in a perfect location, 5 minute walk to the old town, and it had everything we needed to be very comfortable. We loved the balcony and the big old trees opposite. Irena was a perfect host and kindly gave us maps, left us guidebooks and cards for the free city bikes. She even put a supply of fruit, milk, cheese and beers in the fridge so we were set up when we arrived. We couldn't have asked for more. She has also helped us by trying to find us a ride share online for our onward travels through Slovenia. We had a fantastic time in Ljubljana and would recommend this apartment to everyone.
The studio is nicely situated between Tivoli park and old town. Irena gave best advices for our stay!
Our stay at Irena's lovely studio was very pleasant and very delightful just like the lovely hostess. Since we booked her studio, Irena was always very helpful with not just the booking but giving us lots of nice travel tips before our arrival and throughout our stay. The flat is very cosy, well maintained and extremely well located in a quiet neighbourhood less than 5 minutes walk from the centre. I would most certainly recommend this studio and would be most happy to stay there when we visit again.
Irena's lovely studio in the heart of Ljubljana was the perfect introduction to airbnb! My husband and I are a mature (but still romantic :-) couple and found this small but inviting space a perfect spot to settle in for a week of exploring Ljubljana and the surrounding countryside. It had everything: the perfect location, free parking, nicely stocked fridge, homey surroundings, most comfortable bed on our trip, full kitchen, washer and clothes drying rack, small balcony overlooking the park. Irena should be the Poster Girl for hosting: sweet, intelligent, bubbly, and always willing to go the extra mile to make her guests comfortable. (In our case, she drove back and forth to drop off her own iPod adapter for us to use.) No wonder I started to refer to "going home" whenever we returned to the studio. This was a real gem that turned us into airbnb converts. Hvala lepa, Irena!
My middle name is Foodie and I love everything about food: I love cooking, tasting, smelling, touching and watching food. But my biggest passion of all is definitely travelling. Whenever, wherever. Although still my heart and soul belong to Southeast Asia and Africa.
I'm in love with words, writing, music and most of all with my husband. :)
travelling, food, writing, music, films, literature, wine, theater, painting, and all other hedonistic stuff.
FAVOURITE TRAVEL DESTINATIONS:
6 continents, 50 countries and much more than 1000 towns and cities, but my favourite are:
Zanzibar (I love Stone Town!), Kenya, Indonesia. No, here I must stop for a while. I am madly and deeply in love with this beautiful country. I just keep coming back every year and everytime I am more hooked with it. If I would have to choose the county I love the most, than there is no doubt - Indonesia is the one and only, my true love. Oh, and there are gentle and graceful Laos and Cambodia, every town, street and creek in Australia, I love USA - Memphis, San Francisco, New Orleans, Venice Beach (LAA) are such a fun places! - Oh, and Balcan countries own my heart (Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Croatia). :) Hey, I was still born in tthe time that we were all one country! :)
I have travelled also to beautiful countries such as Burma, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Tanzania, New Zealand.
I must not forget majority of European countries I've travelled to and have great fun exploring them - particulary food, if we're honest :) (Italy, Vatican, San Marino, France, Greece, Albania, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Netherlands, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Switzerland ...)
Oh, and I would almost forgot: South America! :) I fell in love with Galapagos islands in Ecuador, I was watching sunset on the top of Machu Picchu in Peru and watching sunrise in the middle of Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. I was eating great chorizos at street vendors in Montevideo in Uruguay, wandering with a big smile on my face through the most amazing and beautiful streets of Valparaiso in Chile and tasting wines and the most delicious steaks on planet in charming Mendoza and bohemian Buenos Aires in Argentina - and Buenos Aires is also THE place where I left a big chunk of my heart ... :)
Born and raised 30 kilometers from the Italian border, I must say that Italy is still one of my greatest loves. And nobody can beat "mia mamma's" cuisine! Nobody. :)
I love sailing on Adriatic sea every summer - so many beautiful islands, so many beautiful places, so many beautiful bays ... And such a heavenly peace. And just to let you know - Adriatic sea is without any doubt one of the most, if not the most beautiful sea in the world. And i've seen many of them. :)
You rock, I blues. :)
(blues, rock, jazz, funk, indie, bossa nova...)
Bukowski is my (website hidden) Nesbo my addiction. James Lee Burke my master.
As slutty as I am, I also love other guys like for example Marquez, Miller, Wilde, Brecht, Poe, Saramago, Byron, Shakespeare, Orwell, Baudelaire, Nietzsche and lots of others too. Oh, and I LOVE crime stories - I am completely addicted to them! :) Jo Nesbo and Stieg Larsson for presidents, haha! :)
Defintely Conversation by Coppola. An amazing italian film Le Quattro Volte made in 2010 by Michelangelo Frammartino. L'Amour by Haneke. Almost all movies directed by David Lynch or written by Charlie Kaufman. Coen brothers are also cute. Hmmm, so what else? The Silence of the Lambs, Good Fellas, Godfather I. & II., Taxi Driver, Pulp Fiction, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Good Fellas, Magnolia, The Hours, Mar adentro, About Schmidt, Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich, Seven, Last Tango in Paris, American Beauty, Reservoir Dogs, ... And yeah, I love mr. Bond. :)
Californication, Twin Peaks, Monty Python, Monk, Law and order: Criminal intent, House.
ONE AMAZING THING I'VE SEEN OR DONE:
Lots of them, most of them are for majority of people completely unimportant and small. Smelling freshly cutted grass, for example. Big ones? I've travelled round the world for one year, roadtripping (10000 miles!) across all the USA for 2 months, went sailing from North of Adriatic sea all the way down South and roadtripping through all the Ex-Yugoslavia countries. There is not enough space here to write all the incredible stories that happened on these journeys. :)
WHEN I "GROW UP" I WANT TO BE ...:
I want to be a writer, be still in love with my husband and have children. And when I'll grow up even a bit more, I AM going to be a writer, I'll own small rustic restaurant and guesthouse, I'll be still in love with my beloved husband and we'll have a grandchildren. And then I can die. This is it. :)
MY CURRENT MISSION:
Spend as many winters as possible somewhere near equator. Buy a property there.
As above so below.
