Had a great stay at this modern apartment in Bella Vista in Santiago. It's just as awesome as in the photos, very clean and stylish. It's in a great building, with elevator, excellent wifi, doormen (so you feel very safe) and a fabulous rooftop with sweeping views of the city. We had some lovely sunset drinks up there. The kitchen and bathroom were all stocked with all the essentials for cooking meals. Gilles was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Any issues with had, he made it a priority to help us. The apartment is right in the middle of the artistic Bella Vista area with lots of bars and restaurants, but it's still quite enough to get a good nights sleep. Had a great time and would definitely stay again if we are ever in Santiago!
O Cerro San Cristóbal é praticamente do lado.
What a great stay! The loft was exactly as described in the ad - cute, tidy and really clean. Great location as well, if you don't mind a lot of noise at night (we actually really like it, so it wasn't a problem for us). The neighbourhood is young and hip, with lots of cool places to eat/drink, apart from the Cerro San Cristóbal, which is extremely near. A 5 min walk to the Baquedano subway station, with the great Patio Bellavista on the way. The only not-so-cool thing about the loft is that it's a bit cold...also, don't take long showers/baths - you might run out of hot water (and will have to wait 30min until it gets back). But it was indeed a great stay.
Gilles has an exceptionally-tidy modern, sterile apartment in a cool concrete loft building in the Bellavista neighborhood of Santiago. There's a 24-hour doorman and it's a pretty safe-feeling area. It's a university part of town so during the week it's very busy with students milling about to classes and there are tons of restaurants and bars in the general vicinity. Be ready for late night music and partying streaming through the streets, which are sort-of amplified by the cavernous concrete acoustics of Gilles's building, but it's not unbearable.
You're only a 10-minute walk from the gorgeous Lastarria neighborhood which is a bit more chic and European than Bellavista. There you'll find gelato, cafes, shopping and people-watching. Between Bellavista and Lastarria you have a stunning Parisian-looking Parque Forestal where you can hang out on a bench, go for a run, bike ride, check out the Bellas Artes museum of just stroll around and smile at the friendly stray dogs that run the city.
The apartment itself if very minimalist, it almost feels like nobody actually lives there. The bedroom is upstairs in a loft area with the bathroom and has a comfy bed. There are massive windows allowing tons of natural light in which is nice but also there are curtains to block that out in the bedroom area.
We never met Gilles but he was very responsive to questions any time of day, would definitely stay here again!
What a brilliant place! The flat is a spacious, extremely clean loft flat which I fell in love with. Located in Bellavista it is right in the heart of the bar and restaurant district. I couldn't recommend this place more. Gilles was extremely helpful and I can't wait to return!
We were greeted by Ms. Kenia (the lady that cleans the place) and she gave us some instructions on how to use everything, how the laundry works, where to find a supermarket etc. The loft was in grand shape and clean and looked exactly like in the pictures. The neighbourhood is fantastic. Very central and a lot of student life, bars and restaurants. Cerro San Cristobal and Pablo Neruda's house are just around the corner Just a 5 minute walk from Plaza Italia where all the buses and the Metro station is. It can get a bit noisy at night from the surrounding bars but if you are not too sensitive to noise it won't bother you to sleep. For us this was the best place to stay in Santiago.
Gilles was a flexible, responsive, friendly host at every turn!! The loft was absolutely as pictured and described: a spacious, safe, minimalist, and impeccably clean loft in a buzzing, bohemian neighborhood centrally located in Santiago. Right around the corner is the best dancehall club in Chile, right next door is a Peruvian restaurant, right on the corner is a small market for buying fresh bread, and diagonally is a mostly vegetarian cafe with real coffee. Not to mention never-ending bars and restaurants within short walking distance. Thanks, Gilles, for a wonderful two-week stay; we'll definitely be back.
My boyfriend and I fell in love with Santiago at the first minute! Which was mainly due to the great apartment we stayed in!
The location is perfect - in the middle of the cool neighborhood bellavista! Yes, you can hear some party people but we did not mind it at all! But also plaza de armas and other cool places are in walking distance!
The Checking in was very uncomplicated and smooth- bathroom cleans and the best: the rooftop with the pool!
So nothing to complain - we could not have had a better experience!
Oh and if You need an advise for a cool snack: try buffalo waffles!!!
