Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Cosy, detached, holiday home for two in Bakewell, the heart of the Peak District.

A walker and cyclist's paradise with Bakewell’s amenities just a short walk down the hill. Nestled in a conservation area, with Chatsworth a short drive away, we offer a warm welcome to guests from all backgrounds.

All on one floor, the cottage has a lovely bedroom and king sized bed, modern shower room, small and cosy, but well equipped, lounge/kitchen/diner and garden.

The space
Tilia Cottage is a recently refurbished, fully self-contained holiday home with its own front door. Guests will find all the basics and more to start their holiday - tea, coffee, milk, sugar, toilet rolls, kitchen roll, foil, etc, so you can just relax when you arrive.

The rooms are all on one floor with gas central heating and comprises:

Kitchen/diner/lounge: small, but very well equipped, with dining table and two stools, comfy two-seater sofa and chair, TV, DVD player and an excellent selection of DVDs and books. In the kitchen area there is an under counter fridge with ice box, sink, induction hob, fan oven, toaster, kettle and microwave.

Bedroom: King sized bed with bedside cupboards and lamps, chest of drawers with large mirror above.

Shower room: With modern shower, WC, heated towel rail and basin. We supply towels for your stay.
*** Please note – there is a step up to the shower area ***

Washing machine in a space off the bedroom with iron and ironing board, lots of hanging space and extra storage and a safe.

Lovely, private garden which overlooks fields. Mature lime trees are dotted around providing a haven for birds. Enclosed, private yard. There are sitting out areas and a washing line.

BIKES/CLIMBING GEAR - we have plenty of space in the main house to safely store any bikes or bulky items until you need them - just ask.

Other things to note
Well behaved dogs are very welcome, but possibly not suitable for large dogs or more than 2, due to the cottage being small - we want them to be comfortable! If you have any queries, just ask. Doggies can't go in the bed or on it, or on the furniture! We also ask that all traces of fur, etc are removed before checking out. We don't charge for dogs or cleaning at the moment, so please do this little thing for us! Thank you!

Strictly NO SMOKING allowed in or outside the cottage. This is due to the proximity of cottage to family home.

We very much welcome little ones too, but please contact us first so we can explain what we do and don't provide. Please note there is no bath - just a shower. Thank you!

I am a mum of three (plus a dog!) and Dan and I look forward to welcoming you to our little cottage. We are passionate about wildlife and the environment and enjoy walking every day. We feel lucky to live in the Peak District and being able to bring our children up to appreciate it too. As a family, we love to holiday in the UK and Northern Spain. Aside from hospitality, I'm studying to be a counsellor and finishing a Masters degree...slowly! Dan likes mountain biking and playing guitar in his punk band! We welcome guests from any background and we love dogs, so if you bring yours, expect it to get lots of fuss and treats!
