Classic Charm in The Castro Trees

Apartment - Entire home/apt · 16th St, San Francisco, CA 94114, United States

The Space

UPDATE: IN JULY I AM ONLY LOOKING FOR SUBLETS OF TWO WEEKS OR MORE.

Spacious one bedroom with a queen and large living/dining room with day bed perched atop the Castro Neighborhood surrounded by Trees on three sides and fun time city just down the hill.
Your retreat and epicenter of city all at once. Steps away from stunning city views from the Park Bench in Corona Heights park, and the World Famous Castro theater on the other.
2 blocks from the Castro Muni station, easy parking and walkable to anything you could like.
Huge kitchen, living room, heath tiled bathroom, and cozy bedroom will make you feel well at home among the art and plants throughout the space.
I am a full time student but travel often, the space is my home and not a full time sublet - it is mostly available for long weekends and then for longer trips.
Please be aware there is an additional cost for extra guests- I try to keep the place competitive in price for the two travellers but due to the large size I am happy to accommodate more people and act as 2 br, but the price will change with more guests- please feel free to ask for a quote and rates that work for you and I will manage each request to fit your needs!

  • I enjoyed staying in Eve's apartment. Great location and view... Very quiet. Completely easy, no-fuss arrangements. I recommend it!

  • We had a very nice stay in Eve's appartment, which is very comfortable. The view was amazing, the place very quiet and it's very central, so we definitly recommand Eve's place !

  • Eve's flat is on a safe and quiet street up a very steep hill next to Market & Castro. It is very well decorated, has great views of the bay, and it's very close to public transportation.

However, based on my experience, I can't give a positive recommendations without a lot of caveats. There was an incident that happened during my stay that involved a private matter for the host. Eve was very apologetic, but she couldn't offer me a full refund because of the transaction costs of working with Airbnb.

I don't think it's a typical stay for any Airbnb guest. I had contacted Airbnb about the incident, but I felt a distinct lack of concern from Airbnb. No one from the website even asked, "Are you okay?" Airbnb did not offer to help with finding another place to stay or waiving any of the transaction costs.

  • Eve's place is charming and has a lot of characters. Check-in/check-out went smoothly, even though we didn't meet Eve in person. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We had no trouble with parking at all, which was a great relief.
The house is located on top of a hill, right behind Corona Heights Park. At night, the view is gorgeous.

  • Great place to stay. Charming describes it well. Quiet and relaxing. Super views over the Castro and Twin Peaks area. Had everything you needed to stay there. Loved the convenient access to the park next door for city wide views. Eve was super easy to work with and accessible through whole period checking in with us often just to make sure all was going well! Would stay again without hesitation.

  • Great view, and the squirels are fun to watch too. Very comfortable home, everything explained when needed. You are a guest in the home, only thing missing is the hostess, very intimate feeling. Yup, there is a big hill to climb, but it will keep you healthy. Parking was never a problem, just watch the signs.
Thanks for sharing your home Eve, Dave and Sofia

  • Eve's apartment is really lovely. Talk about "high on a hill..." as th song goes. We were only there for two nights, but felt immediately at home. I think this was the best way to experience San Francisco. Fantastic!

  • We had a great stay in Eve's great home! It's close to the heart of Castro and yet so peaceful. It was nice to curl up on the window seat and looked out over the city. I will definitely stay here again!

  • We've been lucky enough to stay at this amazing place for 3 weeks and it is just as beautiful as the pictures suggest.
The apartment itself is very spacious and clean. You have tons of lights and a beautifull view of the Castro from the living room.
Eve's lots of beloved plants and the cool decoration give the apartment very good vibrations.
The house was great and had all kind of stuff available to us including free wifi, washer&dryer etc...and a very nice kitchen!

Location can't be beat: up of the hill for peacefull days AND nights (The quiet of the neighborhood was a blessing) but in walking distance (5 mins) to the heart of Castro with tons of food, bars, pizza, stores, etc.

Eve is a wonderful host: she couldn't have been more helpful with setting up the details of key drop off, wifi use, and she even gave us a few insight tips on life in San Francisco.

We would definitely stay here again and we think it is the perfect apartment away from home in the city!

I am a big entertainer in my home so my kitchen is filled wtih serving platters, spices and even a couch to have guests hang around while I prepare meals. I love plants and my house is filled with them, the place has been in the family for years and has great local character. My housemate lives in a seperate apartment below and can help out with any questions during your stay.
