I will be home part of the time. I have lived in Cork City most of my life so I am happy to share my local knowledge of Cork City with guests.
The estate was built in the 18th century to accommodate the soldiers from the Elizabethan fort during its reconstruction. (the original wall still surrounds my estate). A wonderful, quiet cul de sac with fantastic neighbors.
10 mins walk from bus station and 20 mins walk from train station
Help yourself to tea or coffee at anytime day or night, and cereal and juice are available in the morning all included in the price.
Des is a super nice guy, and his wife Emily is also a sweetheart. They made me feel right at home, and even made me traditional Irish stew! What lovely, lovely people. Also, it's a good room to say in with a shared bathroom. All in all a very positive experience. Thank you!
Desmond was a great host. Poor guy, I bombarded him with questions about life in Ireland and he was just so generous in answering me and talking to me. We chatted for ages. The house was cute and quaint, in an old part of Cork, I loved the way all the terraces were situated. Very good.
Great location, Des was extremely friendly and helpfull.
Desmond was a very friendly and welcoming host. He was extremely helpful in giving us directions and a background on life in Ireland. His apartment was clean and very convenient to city center. The only downside was that the room was rather chilly. We enjoyed meeting Desmond and thank him for his wonderful hospitality.
Hi Lora, I am sorry to hear that you found the room rather chilly. As I showed you on arrival how the central heating worked, if you found the room chilly all you had to do was turn on the heating. If there was any confusion all you has to do is ask me and I would have been glad to have helped as I was at home the whole time during your stay..
Desmond was a wonderful host! Very easygoing and great to talk to. We learned a lot about Cork and he gave us good recommendations of things to do in the area. His place was clean and conveniently located, easy walking distance from Cork City Centre. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Desmond as a host.
Des is a lovely host, very helpful, and the house is in a great location only 10 mins walk to the city centre!
Room was clean and warm!
I would definitely stay again!
Desmond is a very kind host. Staying in his little house was a unique experience.
Desmond's place is lovely and warm. He is a very good and friendly guy, unfortunately we didn't have time to talk with him as we stayed only for one day. His apartment is in a perfect location and he is a proud owner of a lovely cat!
